    Birria pizza

Saw this truck at Hueneme Beach Festival. No prices shown so expect to pay. We ordered the birria pizza $32 with tax. Line was long so we expect it to be good. So four people had two pieces each and the pieces were filled with tasty meat, cheese and sauces. That means $8 per person. Basic lunch price. The dipping sauce was flavorful. We drank it straight at the end. I was definitely surprised as to the flavors and taste. The person who was taking the order was nice enough. They were located close to the music so I am sure that was part of her "problem". The young lady at the pick up window was very nice. Things to know -truck prices may vary by location. -only gave two plates. Okay if you use pizza box as a plate. - some pieces were not cut perfectly so need a knife. (They did not have any). Used chip to cut.

I stumbled upon Tacos el del gorrito on my IG and they looked really good in their photos so I had to check them out. It seems like they're a new business so I'm happy to support them. We ordered 10 tacos (asada, pastor, chicken, chorizo), 1 burrito de pastor, and 2 aguas (Jamaica and pepino). I gotta say, price is a bit steep at $3.50 a taco and they're normal sized tacos. This price of each item also doesn't include tax so it came to a grand total of over $60 for everything. I don't mind paying if the food is good which it was. My favorites were the asada and chorizo. The chicken was also really good. The pastor could use a bit more flavor in my opinion and I thought there was a trompo in the truck? Maybe I missed it but I was really looking forward to seeing them carve the meat. It just gives it a different flavor. The tacos also didn't come with pineapple like most pastor tacos do. I also had a tad bit of a complain with the tortillas as they were a bit stiff when we got home to eat them. So maybe eat on site for freshest experience. The aguas frescas were also good. We actually didn't get the Jamaica since they had just run out so they gave us a tamarindo and complimentary horchata. Finally, their salsas were good. They have red, green, and habanero avocado along with self serve pico de gallo, pickled radish & cucumbers, and chips. This was a nice touch as the self serve bar outside the truck lets you much on some chips while you wait. Customer service was great! Very friendly staff and made sure we had all we needed. As you can see in the menu photo, they have an extensive menu. So go give them a try. You're going to find something for everyone I am sure.

    Asada fries

I never leave reviews but as my first review I hate for it to be so unsatisfying but this is Disgusting! Drowned in sour cream and no type of meat in them for $25 is outrageous . I'm usually a returning client but every time something changes and gets worse but the price increases somehow . Don't understand how this can be $20+ when they don't even stick to their waffle fries anymore. Just sad can't even ask for extra salsa cause they're stingy with it . Definitely won't be back after this

They were parked at a brewery so I would've understood if they opened later, it's just always such a bummer when I'm looking for some new lunch spots. The owners of the truck (I'm guessing they owned it at least), a lovely woman taking orders & a gentleman making the food. They were both SO nice, and let me tell you, a smile goes a long way people. They both genuinely looked so happy to be there, which really just brightened my day. This was by far the cleanest food truck I've ever seen. No I didn't actually jump on up there, but from what I could see, it was spotless. Sparkling even. Falafel is such a difficult dish to make right, I often find myself extremely disappointed. I took a chance and I'm SO happy I did! They were super crispy on the outside but light and airy on the inside. Amazing flavor. I also loved the shape!! Like cutie little chickpea donuts Keep in mind this is a Syrian inspired truck, so Middle Eastern flavors, not Mediterranean. I say that because I'm so used to seeing Greek joints cook up falafel. This was different and I really really enjoyed it. Everything from the sides to the sauces were so delicious. Spot on. Can't wait to be back!

That kind of reliability is rare, and it means everything when you're feeding a large group. We probably wouldn't have dropped by it if someone hadn't told us about it. The staff was kind, friendly, and gave suggestions when we asked questions about the various meat options. The cash register is right straight in as you walk in. There are communal benches outside and a few high top tables inside, but the restaurant seemed to get a lot of pick up orders. Food came out within 5 minutes on a Saturday at lunch, which I was weary about since it's BBQ - but everything ended up still being hot and juicy. We ended up going with the 3-meat plate for about $30 total. It was enough for 2 people (or 1 really hungry person!). We ordered the brisket, burnt ends, and hot links which came with garlic bread and two sides of our choice - the star of the show was for sure the burnt ends, which were juicy and deeply flavorful. The brisket was moist, which I feel like is hard to find, but I do wish it had more flavor. The hot links were also good but didn't have much nuance either. Next time, we'll definitely save room to try some dessert, which was only $5! If you're in the area, definitely check this place out!

This bright blue food truck has always caught my eye and I finally made it in for lunch. Being a food truck, the vibes are super casual and laid back. You place your order, then grab a seat at one of their picnic benches and soak up the sunshine. The staff were incredibly nice, and the sweet little touches like the handwritten note on the to go bag were just too cute. We love those kinds of vibes! Here's what I got: Single Smash Burger: A solid and delicious smash burger! The bun was pillowy soft, the patty had a nice crust, and I'm always a sucker for cheese, thin sliced lettuce, and a thousand island style sauce on a burger. No frills, just super satisfying and done right. Cosmo Fries: Honestly my favorite bite of the day! Loaded fries topped with cheese, onions, burger patty, and their pink sauce...absolutely insane. SO good. I loved the skinny fries they use, and since everything was made fresh to order, the fries stayed extra crispy even with all the toppings. My biggest regret is passing by this food truck for so long without stopping. That was genuinely a stellar smash burger and fries combo, with the added bonus of such friendly and welcoming staff. Next time you're walking around Downtown Ventura and want a casual outdoor bite, definitely make a stop at Cosmos Smash Burgers. (Located at the Channel Islands Juice Co. parking lot just fyi).
