3/16/26 Next? Dessert! Here at Duke's
Jennifer W.

3/16/26 Had to try Dukes after having breakfast at Moffett's. Great selection of pastries, service could use a little finesse, clean, modern ambiance. The pastry case was delightful n organized. I took photos of the ones I bought. Apparently, the lady at the counter has very limited English skills, friendly enough but could really use some upgrade in her customer service skills. I value customer service a great deal--that's how I become a regular patron. Thankfully there are other Duke Bakery locations to visit if the pastries happen to strike my fancy. There are about 3 sets of seating (tables with chairs & cushioned booth type to enjoy your treats. No outdoor seating available. Parking is shared among other businesses, so it can get hairy at peak times In this shop, there 3 different vendors, not just Duke's, there's a noodle shop to the right (if facing the counter) a smoothie shop in the middle & Duke's on the left. The pastry shelves encompass the majority of the space. The jury is still out re: pastry taste, bought some for friends.

Cute place that shares space with another Chinese noodle business - Mama Noodles. Friendly staff with plenty of options / variety of baked products. You will have to come back. Breads are so soft They have their own parking lot in this strip mall

Parking: Small lot but parking is available. Was not crowded plaza Interior: Layout is similar to most Asian bakeries with circular set up to pick pastries from. Not a dine in place. There weren't samples when I at end of day but I think they do during the day. Wait Time: None Items Order: $10 bag end of day - Random bag of pastries (5-7 items) from the same day. Item total around $30 value. All in yummy condition. Pastries themselves were on the bready side like the fillings were very skimpy and the flavors were quite light like the taro bread and matcha bread

Mochi Bread $6 pack of 3

Overview: large selection and variety of flavors, affordable breads, soft textures ---- They had a pop-up in front of UCSD's Fan-Fan with their breads being $5 each and a couple of their items $6 including their bread loafs and the mochi bread pack of 5. ---- Taro Mochi Bread with Pork Sung $5: - big portion and a great bang for your buck - inside the soft purple bread is real taro root, mochi, and pork sung (pork floss) - balanced ratio of bread to fillings and it was stuffed fully Mochi Bread $6 for a bag of 5 - soft bread with a mochi filling - light on flavor with a great texture of soft bread and chewy mochi ---- Notes: - service was super friendly and helpful, Rain was amazing :D - haven't gone to their store, it was only an outdoor pop-up so not much ambiance. ---- Overall: with the softness of their breads and large selection of flavors, I can't wait to try out their stores if I'm ever in the LA area, service was fantastic and thanks for popping up in San Diego

3/16/26 Duke Bakery Arcadia, CA... Made a quick trip in here and got an Ube Custard Pastry and a Coffee Cake Roll. It turns out there are 3 mini restaurants in one in this building. Duke Bakery specializes in Pastries. Both pastries were really good. I purchased a Yogurt drink from Yokie Yogurt Arcadia to compliment the Duke Pastries. Will try the 3rd place Mama Noodle Liang Pi House on a future visit. Great Pastries!!! Service was a little tough here as the lady at the counter said she doesn't speak English. Tried to speak with the guy at the Mama Noodles, but he wasn't helpful either. The place was clean. No restroom. My friend with me was directed to buy a water when asking for a cup of water after she bought about 10 pastries. I loved the Ube Custard!!! Will give a 2nd chance by coming here in the future.

Dukes bakery It's been a hot minute since I've had Chinese bakery bread. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. It's fun here cuz you can get a little shopping cart and collect your breads. Kinda went crazy and got a bunch to try. The breads looked like they would be dry but weren't and were all really soft, pillowy, and fluffy. The Black Forest bread was topped with toasted almonds, had jiggly thick sweet custard, and a layer of semi sweet chocolate. The hades bread was the only kinda dry bread and was filled with bittersweet chocolate and had a thin sweet Oreo crust on the bottom like a cheesecake would. The pork floss bread had a swirl of sweet savory pork floss and was topped with nutty crunchy sesame seeds. The banana cream bread was filled with like this cheesecake tasting light cream and had some real bananas inside too. The garlic bread was really good, soft, and had a streak of yummy, savory, garlicy, cheesy goodness. They even had a cilantro pork floss cake?! Wasn't getting any cilantro flaves but the cake was nicely spongy, light, vanillay, and had a swirl of pork floss that actually worked with it. Their black sesame cake was also very spongy, jiggly, light, and airy with good black sesame flaves. They even let you try some free samples of bread which my grandma really enjoyed. Overall this place is pretty good. Black Forest $4.50 Hades $6 Pork floss $5 Banana cream $4.50 Garlic bread $4.50 Cilantro pork floss sponge $5 Black sesame sponge $3.75

When it comes to Asian bakeries, Dukes is definitely one of my favorites. Yes, the prices are a bit higher, but many of the breads are larger in size and I feel like they use healthier ingredients, which makes it worth it. I always end up picking some up to bring to family or friends when I'm visiting it's kind of become my go-to. One thing I really appreciate is that they usually have samples out for most of the breads, which helps if you're not sure what to get. That's a big plus in my book!

Duke Bakery in Arcadia offers a selection of unique, large, and fresh breads. ::Food:: The bakery specializes in a variety of breads with different flavors and textures. Each bread is distinct, featuring options like tuna cheese bread, pumpkin bread, sesame bread, Hokkaido red bean, and raisin walnut cream cheese. ::Dessert:: While the focus is mainly on bread, Duke Bakery also offers a small selection of desserts. ::Customer Service:: The service is just okay; you pay and go. ::"Meh" Moment:: Most of the time, the shelves are empty, and there isn't much bread or many desserts to choose from. ::M's Notes:: - Parking lot

Fresh fragrant bread, one of the best bakeries in Arcadia Temple City area. Staff could be friendlier though. A smile always does wonders.

Bread

I bought this bread at lunchtime. When I gave it to my child in the afternoon, I found it had gone moldy! I called the store to request a refund, but the clerk asked us to come back to the store for an exchange. Since it was quite far away, I refused. I called the owner again to request a refund! The owner agreed to refund me the next day, but the very next day, they blocked my number!!!

Mama noodle topped with beef slices

Suprisingly i Went in for bread and left with dinner. I had no idea they served amazing food here. I had a sample of the mama noodles which are made in house, (from a kiosk that was serving small noodle samples for patrons),topped with some beef slices. These noodles are served with a savory tangy and spicy sauce topped with some veggies. 10 out of 10 would recommend. The worst part is when the dish ends

Taro Bread

The mouth feel was very good. The bread was very fresh and soft. It didn't make me disappointed.

Great bakery in the neighborhood. The bread is always fresh. A bit to the pricey side but good overall.

Super excited because the mini fruit tarts are going to look amazing on my newly purchased dessert tray! I was feeling a bit sleepy so I decided to fuel up & eat breakfast while I was there. I ordered a Vanilla Latte & a side order of 3 eggs + Sausage Links. If you're a big eater and want the additional potatoes and pancakes, I recommend paying a few dollars more and ordering the Breakfast platter. The Vanilla Latte came in a paper cup (a bit bummed out by not being able to take a more IG worthy picture of that), but it actually tasted really good! Same with the sausage links - it was probably one of the best tasting ones I've had for breakfast in a while. Aside from their wide selection of pastries and food options, their customer service was phenomenal. Every customer that walked through the door was greeted upon arrival and thanked on their way out. The restaurant was very clean and the cakes looked so beautiful behind the glass case. I had a pleasant experience today at Merengue Bakery & Cafe and can't wait to come back soon to try a slice of their chocolate cake!

I got 2 boxes of 4 mini low sugar lotus with yolk mooncakes, as well as 2 other mini mooncakes. Also, got coconut bread & taro bread since it was so affordable and fresh! Love that there was a huge variety of mooncake flavors to close from for the minis - lotus, pineapple, red date, mixed nuts, etc.) The cashier accidentally charged me for the full size mooncakes so I told her she overcharged me. The boss lady was unable to reverse my transaction since I paid with credit card and she had to give me a cash refund. She was very mean and started scolding at the cashier for being so careless right in front of me. I was so embarrassed and felt so bad for the cashier that I left immediately after receiving my refund. Overall, I really enjoyed the food but not so much the service.
