My wife is selling her car on Craigslist. Duffy's contacted her and said they would like to evaluate the car, and possibly buy it. She told them that she didn't want to waste her time - or theirs and told them that the asking price is firm. Duffy's assured her that if after evaluating the car, they would either offer the full price, or very close. She took the morning off and drove to the dealership, only to be told she was asking too much. They didn't even make an offer. COMPLETE waste of time. Best car service ever. NOT. They sold me a broken car, after a week of having it i had a rod knock and my engine was destroyed had a temporary oil leak fix i did not know about and they would not pay to fix my vehicle. By far the worst dealership on the planet. When i called and explained the car was broken after a week they said "you're driving the car wrong". My wife and I were at the Covington location looking at a couple different vehicles. The last one we saw, and test drove, was a 2010 Dodge Challenger. I immediately fell in love with it. My dilemma was that I work 13 - 15 hours a day Mon - Fri and they're closed Sundays. Fast forward 6 days. I called them on Friday afternoon asking if they still had the Challenger. Yes, they did. I informed them that I had already gotten approved from my credit union to purchase the Challenger and that I would be in Saturday morning when they opened. I received and email Saturday morning while on my way to their location stating that the Challenger sold the night before and that if I was looking for any other vehicle that they would love to help get me into one. Me being upset was an understatement. I understand the "first come, first served" mentality, but when you have a customer telling you that they will be there when your doors open to purchase something you don't sell it the night before. I have had other dealerships in the past hold a vehicle for 24 hours before, so I know that it can be done. I will say that while my wife and I were at the dealership, that they were all very cordial and polite. Unfortunately, actions speak louder then words. I ended up going to Legend Auto Sales in Burien and picked up a Challenger. When I called I talked to Braulino and let him know that I was on my way to get the Challenger they had on their lot if it was still available. Not only was it still available, but Braulino had it taken out and put half a tank of fuel into it for me. read more

Here goes. You ready? First of all I was a service mechanic for several years prior to starting my new career around age 25. It's been awhile since I've turned a wrench or busted my Knuckles yes, but that doesn't mean I won't crawl underneath the car and check for oil leaks or anything noticeably loose hanging or damaged. Can I just say that when a car is advertised as 4 wheel drive and is sold for the asking price reflecting the options included, that you should be purchasing the vehicle with everything that is said to be equipped. That was not the case at Duffy's Auto brokerage. The Lexus I purchased was not 4 wheel drive. Perhaps I could have spent a little more time crawling underneath it and looking for the rear differential, but I was already soaking wet from checking for leaks and peaking at suspension/uneven tire wear on the front end. I knee that the engine was pretty much bullet proof because I spent so long working on similar models. What I didn't know is that the owner and son were not of Christian faith as I was openly told several times before I purchased the Lexus. I always knew that some lots were shady, unethical, dishonest, and lacking integrity but I had no idea that some were capable of such deceit. I mean, the ninth commandment (thall shall not lie) is among the most basic principles of life. I overpaid by at least $2,000 because my vehicle is not all wheel/4 wheel drive. It just goes to show that used car lots are not the place to buy your vehicle. This place lacks honor, dignity, trustworthiness, compassion, integrity, faith and consideration. I should have listened to my dad when he said never by a car from in the rain and never buy a car from a lot that isn't also a repair shop. You've been warned. Question everything. Leave nothing to someone's word. Evil lurks in the open where the honest dwell. I hope the owner and his family sleep well knowing that they're going to feed their family with money that came from heinous acts of dishonesty. The world isn't ran by truth and fairness. It's ran by people who are willing to go to any extent to take advantage of unsuspecting honest patrons. The Lord will remember your dealings and judge accordingly. God bless. read more

We purchase a used acura from Duffy's..talk about problems with the car from the first week, and it continues with the stinky odor to battery/electrical problems. I don't know if I just had a very terrible experience with them, or if they really are snakes. I bought a car here two months ago. The day after I bought the car, the check engine light came on. I asked them to fix it, which they agreed to do... After Tim said I should have just googled what to do about the light...So I was a little annoyed but I wasn't too worried... Until they screwed with me for the entire two months I had the car. My car was at a mechanic more often than not. It was going back and forth to the mechanic more times than I can count, and each time I got my car back, the light would immediately come back on. Did I mention that their mechanic forgot to put a piece back under my hood once? It was just a hose support so nothing too major, but how do you just leave out a part? If he left something out on mine, I'd imagine he could have done that before and maybe even been a more serious part on someone else's car. Eventually, because their mechanic couldn't fix the issue, they sent my car to the VW dealership in auburn. Sure enough, I didn't even get home from duffys before my light came back on. I live less than a mile away. They told me to take my car back to the VW dealership again just one last time... So I did. At this point my car was getting progressively worse and worse condition.. I was now at the point that my brakes didn't work and the car revved itself and jolted itself forward constantly. And they still told me I had to drive it to auburn. I said I was uncomfortable doing that and they didn't care. So I took it, hoping that this would be the last time I had to do this. When I went to pick it back up, they surprised me with a bill. I called Tim, and he constantly berated me saying that one bill is not a lot to ask when they've been trying to fix my car all this time (pretty sure they just had the codes cleared). Then he tried to hold over my head that they offered me a free loaner in the meantime, when I never even asked for the free loaner. They offered it to me. Yeah, perhaps one bill is not too much to ask, had I been informed in the first place that I was supposed to pay for their mistakes. My car never got fixed, at all. Not even after I just said F*** it and paid to get it back from VW. They all have nice customer service voices that make it sound like they're doing their best to help, when in fact they aren't helping at all. Did I mention that they never bothered to give me my plates either? I learned an expensive lesson and I traded the car to a better dealership who worked with me, not against me, and now I'm out of that mess. read more

We have been very happy with the service and vehicles we have bought from Duffy's Auto. Over the past 13 years we have bought (or sold) at least 5 vehicles from Duffy's Auto as we had teenagers that needed cars and as my husband's and my own needs changed. They always offered us an honest deal and thorough service. And when they didn't have what we needed on their lot, Tim would find it for us at an auction or online. I like how they always have their vehicles inspected thoroughly to make sure they are in proper condition too. He even put new tires on one of the vehicles before selling it to us! Great sales pitch and super friendly guy's until you leave the place. A/C didn't work well at test drive. Tim said not as cold as he likes it, promised to have it looked at, gave out on the drive home. 150 miles on vehicle ,check engine light comes on and it was running rough at idle. Was told " Well its a used vehicle bought as is can't look into the future "Blah Blah Blah BS I'm sure a lot of other customers have heard that too, but took it back for them to check out. They told me the A/C needed to be charged (DUH) and the plugs and wires needed to be changed or a major tune up to cure the check engine light. wanted to charge 189.00 for A/C and 273.00 for tune up. We picked up the vehicle Never took it back to them because a very reputable mechanic checked the vehicle out and it was the number 3 cylinder that was miss firing (per the code ) He told us the plugs and wires were brand new top of the line ones and it was probably someone trying to cure the problem. We had vehicle fixed and it is running great, Oh and also had to replace all wiper blades as the ones on the vehicle were DUST. Moral of the story is, typical used car salesman tactics at this place and I for one will never ever go back and never ever recommend them to anyone I come in contact with. read more

What a great experience! I simply called and told Tim what I was looking for and he was able to locate it within a week. I just do not have time to run all over the place to save $20. I got a great deal on our car, well under blue book. Two phone calls and 30 min at the dealership and I was driving away. These are good, ethical people. I can personally tell you that no amount of money is worth their integrity. Period. If there is an issue, I am convinced they will make it right. I have never heard of a bad experience purchasing through Duffy's. I have close friends who have bought cars through their family for decades. I'm not so sure why this company is rated as low as it is, but for me they were helpful, honest, and fair. I recently purchased a Toyota Sienna that is like a brand new car for me. I told them about the problem with SUV's being too high in the back for my 11 year-old Labrador who has arthritis, and they immediately took a measuring tape to finding a vehicle lower than my Ford Edge. I was showed a few vehicles and I test drove the Sienna. I left without any pressure which is one of the reasons I made my decision to go with them. A couple of days later, I went back to take another look, and they gave me fair prices on my two trade-ins. I also purchased a very affordable 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. I love that the car not only functions comfortably for my dogs with the stowaway seats in the back, but I have room to haul my bike, groceries, and more. I would definitely go back for service and a new car later down the road. They are a nice family, you should give them a try, or a re-try. read more

A couple of months ago in April my wife and I saw a Toyota Sienna 2008 van XE online and thought it would be worth making the drive to Duffy to take a look. The previous weekend I had spent an hour and a half in Burien where a car sales man had tried to sell my family and I a lemon that broke down 3 times during the test drive, I have to say that Duffy's was accommodating in so many ways. 1) I brought my wife and 2 year old daughter and they were very patient, no pressure, as we camped out in their office. 2) Duffy had already put in some money to repair the van's steering which needed major work and were very forthcoming in providing receipts and paperwork. 3) After test driving the van I felt confident that it was a great vehicle that would meet our needs. 4)They were willing to take our 98 Sunfire as a trade in. 5) When it came to making the purchase we bought the vehicle 2 hrs later that same day for what we were wanting to spend. I have been driving the van for almost a year now and it continues to be awesome for our family needs. All in all I want to thank the folks at Duffy 's for making this purchase possible and I am glad that enough time has passed with the vehicle that I can confidently write this review. read more

I bought a Mazda CX-7 back in Nov. And I love my car. The staff was were very friendly and great to chat with. I dealt directly with Tim Duffy and had a wonderful experience.So not sure where the rudeness is coming from with these other posts saying that they received from the staff never found any one of them rude. I have been in contact a few times with Mr. Duffy and staff and they are still a pleasure to talk to and mine you this is over 6 months later since i bought my car. I purchased a extended warranty like i have done before buying a used car. Things happen you never know when, but they do when you buy a used car. So if you plan on keeping your used vehicle for a long extended amount of time I think it's always smart choice to purchase a warranty. I also asked them if i could see any paper work of the work done that they said they performed on the car and they had no problem pulling it from their file for me to see. It was the actual invoice from the automotive dealer that did the work right down to the 4 new tires they put on. So that being said my experiance with Duffy's Auto was quite Wonderful. read more
