How awesome is a 24hr Chinese/Mexican/Vietnamese donut shop? Pretty awesome. Everything is well priced and the donuts are always fresh. I went the first time because I thought the concept was comical, but I return again and again, coz' I actually quite like it. read more

I had the mixed Pupuas this time , they come with a sweetish tomato salsa and some sliced cabbage . Theyre yummy! Im not crazy about the sauce on its own but with the Pupuas. and cabbage it works. I went around lunch time on a week day and the tables were clean so I ate there. Im still not convinced that these tables are cleaned often enough so I am sticking with my 4 stars. Next on the list Machaka or Tamales. read more

"Their torta sandwiches are really good" -Annoymous/EVERYONE. I saw the above in the "feed" that is generally how I think this restaurant/"hang out" really is about!!! This place is 100% affordable and the only thing I've had there is the torta subs and I have not looked back since! It's absolutely heavenly. This is the kind of place where you pay at the counter and don't expect any service, cause you ain't going to get any. Why would you need service though? This is like complaining about the service at McDonald's. What are you going to do? Stop eating Big Macs? Quit them Chicken sandwiches cold turkey? That was confusing. But you get my point. I love this place. read more

While visiting Vancouver BC, I love it up there, I saw this on the way to my sister in law's place and decided to give it a try since it is open 24hrs! Got some donuts and poutine. Probably gonna stop by everytime I am in the area. price is good, selection is good. staff was friendly and fast. parking wasnt bad. read more

Where to start with Duffin's. This place is just plain wild. It is one of the undisputed best 24 hour eating spots in Vancouver. Whether you want a Vietnamese sub, a torta, all day breakfast, fried chicken, a burger, pupusas, or a deep-fried banana, this is the spot to go. They have an ever-expanding menu of randomness that will always fulfill your late night cravings. Did I mention they have donuts? read more

It's not picking up Michelin Stars, but it's a fantastic diner/bakery, and it's open 24/7. They have some of the best donuts I've ever had, and the mix of available foods, from standards like burgers, to Vietnamese subs and Salvadoran pupusas is all really solid. I'm vegetarian, so wouldn't know first-hand, but people seem to love their fried chicken, too. read more

Can you say Fried chicken that tastes pretty much like Church's, and better than kfc for realz. At 2 in the morning. No questions asked. Because they are bloody 24 hours. I find the coffee service really slow but their coffee usually isn't worth it, because that is totally something I am a snob about, but what I'm not, is doughnuts. Their jelly filled/topped buttermilk donuts are frigging amazing, the berry and the custard, not as big a fan of the lemon. So if you are tempted to try one when you walk in, do so. Completely worth it. Although, last time a friend of mine ordered fries there I tried one and it tasted... fishy. Literally. So not sure if that's a common problem, or if they're supposed to, I might suggest you pass on them. Who needs the extra calories of fries after fried chicken anyways? read more

Excellent Vietnamese sub sandwiches! My personal favorite is the grilled chicken, the meat trio is also pretty good. The donuts are usually pretty good, I've had more hits than misses. Coffee was pretty bad, but no worse than Starbucks or McDonald's. If you drink your coffee with milk and sugar you won't notice the difference, trust me. The Chinese fast food is pretty good surprisingly, but my astronomically low expectations at midnight may have helped the cause. It's usually pretty dirty in the middle of the night, but it's not like you have many options in the area besides pho. Service is curt and apathetic at best. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in to indulge in a doughnut each and a coffee to share. This is one of those locations that as a bus rider I would always see the location and wish I could stop in (as I travelled to work) however work was the priority and often anytime I could think of going I would be off doing something else. Anyhow. I finally made it through the doors. An interesting donut store camouflaged as a diner of sorts. They offer a devilishly delightful selection of donuts and some other foods you would never think of... fried chicken? When all was said and done the seating was kinda boring and bare but the food made it worthy. Very awesome but not for any long stays or large groups read more

I have been going here for years and really love the food but lately it has gone downhill. The chicken is no were as good as it use to be!! It's a shame they were the best at one point. The chicken does not seem to be fresh anymore it sits in the heated case for a long time. And the place is really dirty read more

I love the fries there but I ordered a Sangria Cola Champagne JURRITO and they gave me this Sangria Flavoured Carbonated Beverage. I asked for a jurrito and the lady kept saying that's it that's it even though I could see the JURRITO i wanted at the front. Then she said that's what you order but its not because I said exactly what was on the menu. She just kept repeating what she said because she didn't want to give me what I ordered. Ruined the fries. Not coming back. Cosco has cheaper and better fries. read more

Service was poor. First called our number and we didnt respond. And then as soon as we herd our number the clerk gave us attitude. Told us to wait in spot with no direction or no signs saying were to go. Duffins always bin a staple to Vancouver as of lately the staff and by looks of it new ownership has poorly degreased. Sad to see that a place loved by all is now poorly managed. Me and my partner always try support local but if the attitude and poor reception received we will decline supporting read more

My favourite donut place in the city. Not pretentious at all, cheap, and always tasty. Even their day-olds (10 for $3!!) are great (just not the cruellers). Haven't had any savoury food from here, but most people say it's also good for the price. Totally underrated place. read more

I stop here on occasion for a fast bite during the lunch hour. My favourite is the ham and cheese sandwich with a diet coke (all for about $5!). The best part is the banana peppers and avocado snippet that oozes from that warm fresh baked bun after you bite into it. If you like a good ham and cheese sandwich and haven't tried it here - you are missing a good thing! BTW - some of the best meals are created at "greasy spoons" or "stale coffee shops" - this place reminds me of Bob's Subs in Richmond. Check them out if you like this place - read my review of them on yelp.ca too! read more

If you're a Vancouverite, you have to try Duffin's at least once. I recommend it. They have a huge variety - from fruits to fast food to bubble tea - so there will be something suited for you. My first trip there was at 1am on a Saturday, and even then it was quite packed (there was a lineup). There were empty tables and at least two open parking spots available, so don't worry about it getting too full. The environment feels a bit cheap, but I think it resembles a vintage-ish fast food restaurant look (red/black and white tiles, the tables...). Either way, it was clean enough. I had a long john and a sugar raised donut. The first thought was that I'll never taste Tim's the same way ever again. The donuts were soft and fresh (even at 1am in the morning!) and that tells you something. It was inexpensive as well, so I should have ordered more. Will definitely be going there again! read more

Two words. FRIED CHICKEN. Yes I know sounds crazy it's a donut shop... but the fried chicken here is really tasty, and makes such a great snack when you are on the go. Tortas here are also popular. This place is pretty much a landmark in its neighborhood. Good stuff! read more

We just got in today and the lady won't even welcome you upon entering. I have to call her attention for me and my little one to get served. We wanna bring donuts to her little cousin and wanted to try this place. When this lady asks for our order it's just like she is commanding me...no proper customer service. No etiquette...no manners. So RUDE!!! Being a Retail Manager for 25 years I was in shock on how she deals with us. Then upon paying as I haven't seen their sign which is not visible as it is so tiny NO Credit Cards...I did tap my card. In a very authoritative manner she said NO credit just debit and rolled her eyes. Oh my!!!I left so upset. I called their number on the donut box looking for a manager. They left the phone hanged and I can hear their conversation laughing and saying hahaha she's looking for a Manager. So when the same voice got in the phone I said what's so funny? Why are you guys laughing? She said we are not laughing at you. I just said forget it. This conversation is not going anywhere. What a service on an early Sunday morning. Will never ever go back in this place ever again. read more

Duffin's Donuts - Donuts - Donuts Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I'd say a pretty average place, not a destination, kinda boring looking, great deal if you live next to it though. In short, it's a pit stop, not a restaurant or day trip destination. I thought it was a cafe or restaurant due to the rating. Its rated highly for cheapness and the variety of cuisines, and open 24/7. It's basically a large mexican, vietnamese, comfort food, donut, bubble tea neighborhood corner-store thing. Food is fine, I would bus 5-10 blocks/15 minutes for it, or walk up to 3 blocks, but I would not travel more than 30 minutes solely to eat here here which is what I did. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere and there's not much to do around it. For the amount of transfers I did it, was kinda anticlimactic. Though, if i had to call it a pit stop, it's a great pit stop if you happen to be passing by. I got a wildberry smoothie from this empty/unstaffed-looking section of the store which looked like a different store... confusing, but just ask staff from the chicken area to go there, it's all the same store. Smoothie was really good. They add whipped cream for free. The tang and creaminess go together well. Everything else was just standard quality, but good (deep fried food is all good). read more

I have a special place in my heart for Duffins. Maybe it's that good feeling knowing there's a place nearby that's always open, always serving yummy sandwiches , drinks, donuts, fried chicken , papusas, or even a fresh coconut. This place has character; gruff service and a kind of weird diner-meets-Chinese restaurant vibe (although they did stop serving the Chinese food). TVs are usually playing sports or some US news station. But their torta subs are so good. I've pretty much tried all of them and favorites include the Machaca and viet chicken. Some will come here for the donuts but for me it's always the tortas. Bring cash or interac cause they don't take credit cards. read more

Drooool!! Everything! You would think a spot that has donuts, Asian sandwiches, fried chicken and Mexican food, everything can't be good?! Well this is the spot! We came here 2 times during our stay in Canada. Donuts A+...Fried Chicken BOMB...Sandwiches Amaze!! Didn't try the Mexican food or burgers but I'm sure those are great too. This is your one stop shop! The staple in the community. We loved it and locals even said this was the spot. So glad our Airbnb was so close by. What a gem! read more

I had a roast beef, turkey, ham club sandwich. It was pretty good. The server was quite helpful. Duffin's is in a convenient location, and open 24 hrs. read more

After living near this place and driving past it a zillion times we finally decided to try it. Holy moley are the Bavarian filled sugar doughnuts good! The fluffy like plain knotted doughnut was delicious! Definitely visit here for a sugar fix :) read more

First time back to Duffins in many years. I remember their torta subs being delicious, but can't eat that anymore so we ordered Pupusas.... word to the wise, don't order Pupusas! They are a mess. Too much dough, not enough cheese, served with nasty mayo coleslaw and gross tomato sauce that aren't right. The two stars are for being open 24/7 and because I hope the tortas are still good. read more

For what this place is trying to do, this place does it well. Specifically, cheap food and lots of variety. The menu spectrum is akin to a small food court in one restaurant. Vietnamese sub's, Mexican tortas sub's, pupusas, fries, bubble tea, tamales and even fried chicken. And yes, even donuts! Sandwiches are good and just what you would assume. The chicken sandwich had mayo, tomato, lettuce, and meat. No surprises and didn't try to be fancy. Tamales were hot, decent and available at the front counter. The fried chicken was the weakest item, but still crispy and acceptable. The best Mexican food from a Donut shop. Ever. An East Van staple. read more

My take on this place is mixed. My review is solely based on their donuts (Duffin's donuts). I love their donuts - they are fresh, soft, and diverse - definitely better than Timmy's. I tried their fried chicken and although I preferred their spicy version, I can't say I liked it better than Church's spicy chicken. It had good flavor and less oily but it just wasn't crispy enough. They also serve sandwiches and interesting lunch and dinner menu. I did not try them but looked good. read more

Best fried chicken in the city! Service is a little lacking but the chicken specifically is amazing

I had a craving for jelly donuts so I decided to try Duffin's. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. However the long johns were very good. read more

I'm giving two stars because I love their donuts and fried chicken, and that they are open 24 hours. Been coming here for years with no issues until I got violently ill after eating their pupusas.... The place is old, run down and dirty - I guess that's part of the charm for some - but after getting sick from their food it really made me wonder how filthy their kitchen is. If I do go back I think I'll stick to the donuts. UPDATE: I made a report to Vancouver Coastal health and they did an inspection. Several violations including perishable food not being stored at proper temperatures. read more

Yum!!! It's not just a doughnut house, and not just a cafe!! Duffins donuts have old-style cake doughnuts that Tim Hortons doesn't feature. The rest of the doughnuts - Long Johns, jelly filled, etc are very light and extremely tasty!! And then there are the pupusas! It's lovely to enjoy these savoury delights and then a sweet doughnut. Duffins also has sandwiches and subs, but I can't bring myself to try one as I enjoy the Pupusas so much. The atmosphere isn't high class by any stretch. But it's a 24 hour location, and I don't mind the trip from Surrey to 41st and Knight. It's well worth the trip! read more

Duffin's Donuts has good donuts, but their torta sub is even better. But, the hidden jam is actually their fried chicken. They have the BEST fried chicken in town. Even better than Church's chicken. read more

Not the fanciest of the diners, but if you look beyond the decor then this is the perfect place for a late night meal. Their fried chicken is even better than Church's, portions of it with rice are gianormous. And if you have a sweet tooth, the selection of donuts can really make you happy. They look glossy and sugary, and even though I'm not a huge fun of super sweet stuff, it's hard to resist to such goodness. read more

Best donuts for me and being open 24/7 is the best combination of all. Their fritters and hot torta sandwiches are also sooo good. Enough varieties to suit everyone. They also sell good fried chicken, spicy & non spicy, juicy meat and not dry. My go to donut shop bar none. read more

Good donuts, but there subs have lost flavour over the years ( been going here since main street 33rd). But still good quick spot to grab lunch. read more

Yummy donuts baked throughout the day, but lots of other food here, and different ethnic foods represented- Vietnamese sandwiches, tamales, papusas, grilled cheese, burgers, all at very reasonable prices. If you can overlook the dingy exterior you're in for a real treat. read more

Viet subs. Mexican tortas. Tamales. Fried chicken. Oh yeah and apple fritters. All done pretty decently by a friendly Vietnamese family. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to satisfy your random ethnic cravings. The only thing I could say is that the display menu pictures are way outdated, the decor pastel pink, and the tables not wiped nearly enough for the volume that goes through that place. Definitely an East Van institution. read more
