Chocolate from my sundae

This is the best place to come on a special occasion! First we came a few months back for my fiancé birthday then my early birthday dinner. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Chef is an amazing man along with his family that really do a lot for his customers. The food is so delicious and fresh ingredients that you can taste with each bite! We have tried a few different dinners and it's all so wonderful. I love the wait that you have when you get your appetizer then it's almost like letting the food get through your body to make room for the main course. Maybe that's just me as I had weight loss surgery I'm able to wait a while before my main dish comes! I highly recommend coming here! It's worth every dollar you spend!

This was a great relaxing dinner experience. We enjoyed an excellent, fun filled leisurely night out filling up on a spectacular menu served with warmth and cheer by a wonderful staff. We were never rushed. A meal here is on the level of a luxury cruise - friendly, high quality and totally satisfying. Be sure to save room for dessert. Everything of the menu is a must to try.

Let me start by saying that no one will stumble upon this place by accident....it is well off the beaten path. It is also well worth the drive. Don't be put off by the text you get when making the reservation (which is very highly recommended). It is a true family run restaurant. While the decor is nothing to write home about, the food truly is. Started with the golden onion soup. It's outstanding. Home made soda bread with fresh butter is very good. The seafood pie is out of this world. Loaded with scallops, salmon, shrimp and cod it is worth the wait! Chef Billy is an outstanding chef, and very personable. Definitely a 6 star experience

I had such a great experience at Dueling Spoons. The vibe in there is absolutely amazing it's welcoming, relaxed, and just an all-around good atmosphere to enjoy a meal. The food is just as impressive. You can really tell that Chef Billy takes a lot of pride in his work. Everything tastes thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. What really makes the place stand out though is Chef Billy himself. He's such a genuinely nice and friendly person, and I love that he always comes out to check on everyone and make sure they're enjoying their experience. That personal touch goes a long way. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had--period. We went to Dueling Spoons for my birthday, and from start to finish everything was spot on. The food was incredible--like the kind where you take a bite and just stop for a second because it's that good. You can tell there's real skill and intention behind every dish. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable without feeling overdone or pretentious. It felt like the kind of place you actually want to sit, relax, and actually enjoy your time. Chef Billy was a highlight--super personable, easy to talk to, and clearly passionate about what he does. That personal touch made the whole experience even better. And honestly, this place set the bar so high that when we went to another restaurant the following week and paid more for our meal, it didn't even come close. We literally left wishing we had just gone back here instead. That says everything. If you're considering trying Dueling Spoons--do it. This place is something special, and I'll absolutely be back.

This unassuming little building in the countryside is a gourmet restaurant. This is a place to relax and enjoy a lengthy meal. It is an intimate environment with soft lights, overhead music and incredible service. A good place to impress a client or propose to a loved one. We are seated at our table and presented with an Irish Wheaten bread. This is a rustic artisan bread. The crust is very crispy to the bite, the bread is soft yet dense. The butter is in the shape of spoons and nicely softened, easy to spread. The Grilled Garlic Shrimp Rebecca has tomatoes that are fresh and delicious. These and the shrimp are grilled with garlic and drizzled with a balsamic glaze and served on toast points, outstanding. The shrimp are very large, meaty, and a perfect al dente. The Mushrooms Mark is a combination of various mushrooms sautéed with scallions, shallots and garlic in a white wine butter sauce. This is topped with a large puff pastry. The Filet Mignon with Shrimp comes on a bed of mash potatoes and has a creamy garlic sauce with a touch of Bleu Cheese. The filet mignon is seasoned perfectly, very tender and cooked to perfection. The shrimp is also prepared perfectly and the whole presentation is a hit. The mashed potatoes are very flavorful and handmade. The Sour Apple Walnut Pie was served with fresh whip cream, berries and a dollop of blackberry glaze. The pie itself is very fresh, thick and comes with a dusting of confectioners sugar. I'm not sure, but it seems like the walnuts are candied, they are tasty! The apple slices in the pie are cut very thin and the crust is a perfect flaky texture. Best of all is that the flavors are all there and this is not too sweet. This is the most flavorful and original gourmet meal we have ever had. The flavors, sauces, service and ambience puts this as our best ever.

This was an incredible dining experience that you must try! Family run restaurant lead by Chef Billy, a vibrant Irish man who perfectly wears the hats of main room charmer, storyteller and master chef, with elegance and ease. His wife Kathleen is one attentive servers, along with their daughter and sons, keeping the restaurant flowing smoothly. The food is amazing from seafood, incredible lamb dishes and the steaks which you pick out and ring a bell to celebrate your selection. There is also Billy's Red Ale which is ombre of the best beers I've tasted. Located in an out of the way location, the food and superior service makes your drive well worth the drive. I can only say that you need to go there and enjoy one of the best dinners in PNW!

I want to say thank you to Chef Billy and the staff at Dueling Spoons for undoubtedly the best meal I have had in my life! First the crab cakes were delicious, the caprice salad was the perfect compliment to them and the clams were amazing. You have to try the Irish wheat bread. Next my husband had the surf and turf with a New York steak. Now I have never liked lobster but Chef Billy converted me. The tastes I had were excellent and my husband loved every bite. My filet and shrimp meal melted in my mouth. You don't need anything else because they season everything so well. If you have room you must try the Sour Apple Walnut pie. We are sure to go back when we can. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. Like everyone was a big family coming together and Chef Billy takes the time to greet and entertain everyone. Thank you again for the most amazing evening.

I'm 67, I've eaten in a lot of restaurants. All over the world. Dueling Spoons in UNIQUE! Nothing about it is ordinary. It's WAY off the beaten path in what was once a gas station. Concrete slab floor, the refrigerator units that once held soda and other drinks are still there. The incredible and irresistible Chef Billy and his family run this place. Billy not only cooks, but entertains in the dinning room and he's hilarious. Everyone is his friend (almost everyone) and observing the goings on there is half the fun of eating there. The portions are huge and everything we had was exceptional and delicious! From the house salad to the Caprese salad to the home made bread to the wine list to the entrees. Everything was fantastic. If you order a steak you're taken into the meat locker where you select that steak and ring a bell that's heard throughout. We had the pork tenderloin, short ribs with a puff pastry and a porterhouse steak. As you can see...not small. Leftovers galore. The desserts are incredible too. I wish we lived nearby because I'd be back here all the time. It's the best restaurant experience we ever had. Oh, make sure to check out the one star reviews here. Billy ain't having any pushback. And he's right!

My amazing wife surprised me by taking me to Dueling spoons for my 50th birthday and WOW, What an amazing experience. As we drove the 1.5 hours from Salem, she informed me of the policy's that were made abundantly clear from chef Billy and simply told me this is an experience not a quick dinner. Unfortunately most people think they should be able to sit down have dinner and drinks in less than an hour. Also, most restaurants want to turn tables as quickly as they can. Not here, and I applaud that. We were not rushed in any way and it was absolutely awesome spending the time with the woman I have been married to for 24 years, just being in the moment. The restaurant itself was so quaint and I loved that they repurposed old shipping pallets for the ceiling. When we did order, I ordered the filet surf and turf and my wife ordered the seafood pot pie. I ordered my steak "black and blue" and chef Billy came to our table to explain that because of his style of cooking it would be difficult to have make it black and "not blue". I asked him to prepare it the way he thinks would be best (after all he is a trained chef and knows a lot more about food than I do). The steak was absolutely perfect as was all the other dishes. The reviews that diss this establishment as too slow should really read the information that is front and center about the experience and not just getting your food quickly. I have already started planning to take my wife there for her 50 in a couple months. Chef Billy, you have an amazing establishment and an equally amazing family. I can't wait to come back!!!

Hello! I was wondering before our reservation, is there a dress code to adhere to?

Hello, thank you for reaching out. We like to joke that our dress code is “not naked”. We have guests who dress up and others who do not.…

Does Dueling Spoons serve domestic beer? I sure hope so. The menu looks amazing. If not can we bring our own????? Kim

Hello Kim, we have a wide variety of beers and ciders. Some are domestic and quite a few are imported. I believe we currently have 37 different bottles or cans. We do not carry Bud, Coors etc. or brands like those but we have some very nice choices.…

We just wanted to stop by somewhere to get food before we lost signal and we stumbled upon Lion Mountain Bakery from following the signs on the road. We were surprised to see what was inside. Around 11am there was a performer singing some sweet neologisms. There were also lots of art that you can purchase, some books that you're able to check out. I'm guessing this is where the people of Oakridge come to get work done because there were ample seats and WiFi set up. In fact, there were a couple people getting work done when we got here. What we got: Breakfast burrito $9 Breakfast sandwich $9 Shriek breakfast sandwich $10 Quiche $6- goes well with ketchup and green Tabasco sauce Triple Timber $6- specialty drink that has: hazelnut+caramel mocha with 3 shots of espresso The Roaring Lion $5.5: vanilla chai tea latte with 2 shots of espresso. There were also affordable baked goods like cookies, scones, abs brownies depending on what you're craving. I read a review that someone mentioned it took a while to get a sandwich. The lady at the front mentioned that there would be a wait time of 30 minutes because they had a limited space at the grill- so it was nice we were warned beforehand. Stop by here for your road trip meals and snacks :)
