Nice, light donuts with just the right texture. It's fun to be able to choose your base donut, your glaze, and toppings, so you can create your ideal donut. They have vegan and gluten-free options so if that matters to you you won't be excluded from a breakfast pastry. When I visited on a weekday morning the line was long but it moved fairly quickly. You also can't fault the servers for people who have a hard time making decisions, which seemed to stall the line. Once I got to the register the women I met were polite and efficient and helpful when I asked questions. I noticed some tables had dirty napkins left on them but it looked like everyone working was busy so I don't think anyone had time to clean up bus people's trash. We should all know to use garbage cans by now. I had a basic donut with a maple glaze an old fashioned donut, just plain. I liked both and thought they were fluffy without being too airy, and weren't too sweet. There was just the right amount of maple glaze and I liked the crispiness of the original donut without any toppings. My only issue with the restaurant is the prices. The donuts are pretty small--maybe 3/4 the size of what you get at the grocery store, but at least twice the cost. Obviousy yo're getting them fresh and paying for more quality, but in this area those prices seem higher than what the community can support. I won't be back except for very special occasions given the cost. A nice treat, though, and a great stop if you'd like a fresh donut. read more

Have never been a big donut fan ... Ooooooh my GOSH Duck Donuts has changed my mind and is now my ONLY go to donut place!! I chose the Raspberry Fluff & Coconut Island Bliss... Yummy warm & delicious CAKE donuts with the perfect combo of toppings!!!!!! The fact that it's best to use a utensil is perfect for me ... especially to scoop up drizzle remnants before they dry on the box. If you are brave enough to eat with your hands be sure to pick up the wet wipes they offer ... you'll need SEVERAL. Can't wait to try other flavors!! Idaho seems to be a mecca for doughnut shops. They pop up here by the dozen! (Pun intended) The newest one to rise is called Duck Donuts. Im not a big donut fan, but we got a flyer in the mail offering a free donut and a breakfast sandwich for a dollar. I cant resist truing new things and even more so I love me a deal, so off my wife and I went. Duck is in the village by chipolte. The donuts are cake and not traditional yeast. They are all made to order, but fortunately, they have a lot of flyers around with suggestions on them of donuts combos they have come up with. The cake itself was pretty light and not dense like I expected. They look amazing, but unfortunately, the taste does not even come close to the look. The best one for me was the chocolate iced. The rest were just ok. My wife had a coffee. Im not a coffee drinker, so I have to rely here on here evaluation. She would not give me a lot to go on. She just said it was not good and thew it out. They shorted us 2 donuts, and overcharged us. We would up spending over $20 for 6 donuts, a bad coffee, and an ok breakfast sandwich. They also ran out of batter while we were there which meant we waited for quite a while before our donuts came out. As a former GM, when mistakes like this happened, that were our fault, I would either comp the customers order or give them a good discount. You only have 1 chance to make a good 1st impression on your customers. Especially when you are 3 weeks old. I am pretty sure that we wont be back. read more

Went to try Duck Donuts in Duck, NC and it was out-the-door waiting, so I knew I had to try them when I got back home. Totally worth it! Many, many ways to have your favorite treat made up. I love the "French Toast" donut! Maple & Bacon is the family favorite, but the simple sugar-cinnamon is a winner. We have more to try after we hike these off! I was driving near the location and my sister texted me... if you are near Duck Donuts ...drop some cash. They donated a dozen donuts to each floor of the hospital at St. Luke's (Meridian) during the pandemic. We went in. Super bubbly environment. Designed for your eye and nose. Greeted warmly by the man who I later learned is the part-owner. I was a bit negative ("just cake donuts?" No buttermilk bars? ). He weathered my vibe, had the staff make me a taster. Explained the process, didn't appear rushed (sorry to the lady and her 2 daughters behind us - but - I shared the taster as she was a first timer as well). Long story. Then we made it home. Made coffee. And started cutting donuts into 1/4s. The texture of the cake donuts ... flavors were/are worth your experience!
