Yeah you need these in your life.

Super friendly staff, fast workers making each and every donut in front of you with excellence. Nothing like eating a freshly made donut that's still warm and oozing with goodness. You walk in the door and are greeted with that delicious aroma. Nothing but good coming from Duck Donuts.

Thanks to Duck Donuts for the free 1/2 dozen to share love and cheers with those we love in the new year!

Dad's Half Dozen

I was so happy with my visit to Duck Donuts. I was originally going to just create my own half dozen but there are SO many kinds of donuts to choose from, I just got the Dad's half dozen which is a special until 6/16. The donuts are made to order meaning they are topped to order. Also served warm which is a good and bad thing. It makes the toppings gooey which is delicious but also makes it messier.

I dont often give out 5 stars, but Duck Donuts is up there for me. I discovered Duck Donuts in Tennessee and thought they were a Southern thing, but during a quick vacation to Albany we took a few months ago we were all sitting around the hotel pool (getting slightly buzzed and craving sweets) I mentioned to my SIL about this place I found in Tennessee Duck Donuts and how you can customize everything, so I jumped on Yelp to see and show her the site ONLY TO FIND OUT THERE WAS ONE DOWN THE STREET!!! We legit jumped out the pool, got dressed and headed right out (dont worry It was safe to drive - no one was drunk, LOL) But Omg... Options are endless, and everytime we come to this location, Dave I think his name is - is telling jokes, and cracking everyone up - seems like a truly fun place to work (go check out their TikTok Page - blindfolded Donut making should be a thing everywhere) The Chocolate coconut is my fave, but there are soo many options, they come out hot & fresh and are decorated RIGHT THERE... Im drooling just writing this review. Go, try them, get a dozen!! You wont be sorry!

Duck Donuts provides all around fun and good vibes!! I'll come into a Duck'Do every 4 months or so and snag the one I enjoy with coffee: chocolate with sprinkled peanuts. Did just that 2 weeks ago after I had a gag-acious blown-out experience at 'bella napoli' (thrown in trash) where clueless bimbos apparently and with evidence to prove it smear Walmart can filling on old wet pizza dough, and call it 'cannoli'. Arrivederci. So I came to colorful Duck'Do (which I first tried in VA) where (with all the bakery smells, crunching, folding) I felt right at home. It's simple. The cruller or donut I buy is gone before the box makes it to our kitchen. The boxes are the most whimsical in the business by the way. Don't ever change my duck. Keep it legit - true! Duck'Do in Latham even had a gigantic blown-up yellow duck on a van in front of the franchise that day; wish I could have snapped it, because well - a huge duck floatin' around in Latham will get you sales for sure! All the staff, from youngsters, cashiers to donut dippers and management are the best. Friendly and well trained locals. Nice easy-going, happy vibes inside. Some wood tables to sit at or stand and chat. Come watch the bakers shuttle circle rounds of fresh dough around the shop! Always loved it. Will be back for a few more soon. Review: 5+

Good, not great. Had six varieties and nothing stood out. Excellent service each time though, which is truly appreciated.

Got a dozen due to pressure from the kids. Donuts are good but $24.00 with tax is just too much for 12 donuts. Worth a try but not again.

At the start of 2024, we treated my mother-in-law to a donut treasure map road trip in CDNY,…read moretraveling to a half-dozen different bakeries to pick out donuts to indulge in for a birthday celebration like none-other. I read MANY blogs, yelp reviews, and social media updates to compile the list of places to check out, and I was surprised that a little spot I had never heard of before called Schuyler Bakery continued to pop up in my research. I knew we needed to make it one of the stops on the donut tour, and it was 100% the right decision. These donuts were out of this world delicious. The exact right texture and mouthfeel I personally want out of a donut. Sweet, but not too sweet that you can't enjoy every last morsel. I also loved the variety available... maybe 10 different donuts all together at the after-lunch part of the day, all classics and nothing dripping in over-frosted goo or crazy toppings. These are the donuts that donuts are named after. We will definitely travel out to Watervliet to visit the small, old school vibes kinda bakery for a dozen or so of these again. A++.

This place is kind of sad. The baked goods weren't displayed in a remotely appealing way. Cupcakes…read morewere upside down in the displays, pastries were scattered everywhere, half the items weren't even labeled, and at least 50% of the display cases were empty. Everything pretty much tasted bland with not much flavor. The oatmeal raisin cookie, cinnamon bread, and cinnamon sugar donut were just not worth the calories. The cinnamon sugar donuts were the worst as they were incredibly dense and tasted stale. There's street parking and the employees were judgey, but friendly enough.

Every season something new happens at FFF. This year, they are experimenting with a self-serve farm…read morestand on days when we can't make the pop-up markets on occasional Saturdays. I don't know if it's a placebo effect but everything I've ever purchased at FFF has been phenomenal. Knowing the produce is grown on the premises makes it taste better? It could sway my opinion to a more positive direction but there is no arguing with the sweetness of freshly picked sugar snap peas. I started snacking on them on the drive home and could barely stop myself. The clean earthiness of small beets, small enough to leave the skins on and roast them. Tastes like clean dirt. Love that. There was also a varietal of bok choy. Salt, olive oil, oven for a few minutes. That...just that...was dinner. It's a weird thing to taste how far away I've come from locally grown food; to have my tastes muted by a commercially grown industry. FFF food is like coming home to where we belong.

I knew nothing about this place when my wife suggested for a surprise lunch on a Saturday…read moreafternoon, and we had to rush over as they have limited hours. It was cold and raining outside and I was happy to get out of it and relax. Sadly, I quickly found out her surprise involved eating outside under a tent in the cold and rain on a November day. Sigh. At least they had blankets on the benches. We ordered in the far tent and the menu board was both helpful (it listed everything in each entree, including onions) and annoying (it indicated no substitutions were allowed, including onions). Not to be deterred, I picked the pepperoni pizza with hot honey, basil and Calabrian chili peppers. My wife ordered the Margherita pizza. Both were ready in about 15 minutes, but upon delivery to our table it became clear that a couple of things were off. First, my wife's pizza was cold and mine was pipping hot. Second, mine had so much basil- which in places was left in 2-3 leaf bunches- that perhaps they just cleaned out the pantry for the last order of the day. The crust in spots were burned, but I could live with that. However, it was so floppy that it couldn't be picked up under any condition. Everything but the outer inch of crust was like a thin wet tortilla. And their plastic cutlery wasn't up to the challenge, ripping the pizza toppings off and turning my pizza into a casserole. That being said, the flavors were wonderful on my pizza. The hot honey made for a really tasty flavor balance, and the copious amounts of curling pepperoni were a nice change of pace from the cheap stuff. The peppers were good too, and I wish I could source some locally. My wife's pizza was okay, though the whole mozzarella clumps reminded of dollops of Ricotta and they were very cold as if they were added after baking. Odd. I don't mind paying for expensive pizza if it is good. I am also not a pizza snob and will gladly eat subpar pizza. But, to overpay ($26 for mine alone) for pizza that is just a mess in a cardboard box rubs me the wrong way. The same goes for buying ($24) a cold pizza. The dessert we ordered was a Paris-Brest, and being a choux fan I absolutely loved it. Delicious with hints of coffee, almonds, nuts, and some flavorings I couldn't place, I would quickly come back here just for that. As for their pizza, I just don't know. On a nice pleasant day it would be fun, but too many mistakes on our pizzas makes me leery of ordering them again for those prices.

Professor Java's was one of the first businesses I reviewed on Yelp. But shame on me for not…read morefollowing up when their Wolf Rd. site closed. I didn't realize they had reopened until I saw them next to the relocated Penzey's. Hooray! Two things I miss from the old location are the ability to buy coffee beans, and the more eclectic layout. No worries about the beans these days. Their new site is a much more regular layout, but it's more than adequately compensated by a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere, with more space behind the counter to prepare foods. And that counter holds a lot of other confections as well. Their regular coffee is a bit mild, but there's so many other options if you want to vary your coffee's strength and flavor. I liked the variety of teas available too (mostly hot, but some iced). Service is attentive, and your orders come out quickly. This remains a great alternative to other fast food options along Wolf Rd.

Walking in, this spot is a mad scientist lab. Large roasters are front and center, this isn't a classroom but a coffee laboratory!
