My daughter and I visited for the first time at the grand reopening at their new location, which is easy to find and get parking. We opted to order there instead of online and to sit to eat a little. The line was to the door, but it moved pretty fast. We sat at a comfy two person table while we waited for our drinks and food. The place is definitely busy, but not too loud. I got a cold brew with maple and my daughter got the cookie butter latte. She devoured the coffee! The bagels are out of this world and from Bradstreet Bagels out of Kinderhook. This means we can get their amazing bagels a little closer to home now. I got their bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an egg bagel and mmmm that really hit the spot. I'm picky about bacon, but this is like Canadian bacon, very good! I'll definitely be returning again for more coffee and another fabulous sandwich! read more

I 1st went in 2020 after winning a Facebook contest and ummmmm the cookies were delicious! I usually try to avoid 1/2 pound cookies and since their location is out of the way for me, I haven't been since. But this week I was in the area and treated myself to a tiramisu latte and breakfast sammy. I ordered online and parked easily. It was a small plaza which was honestly packed but since I ordered ahead I got my food right away. It was delicious and the woman at the register was peppy. This place is very popular and for good reason! The line at 11:30am on Memorial Day Monday was VERY long. I was most excited about trying a draft latte or the cookie butter latte... but both of these were sold out... Second choice: s'mores... also sold out. Alas, I went with the tiramisu latte. This was sweet and yummy! Also got the double chocolate sea salt cookie which was very chocolatey and rich! I wish there was an option to warm it up. Other than that, the service was pleasant, and there was seating and parking available. Just be warned that due to the popularity, you may face long wait times and sold out items, so head there early if you can! read more

I mean...yeah...they sell cookies which are excellent. But this place has the best bagel and bagel sandwiches in probably 50 miles. The bagels are super fresh and everything is made to order. For those familiar with Taylor ham from down in NJ, they actually have it here and it's very high quality. The shop is small and very reminiscent of the bagel joints down in the Garden State. We've come here for a variety of items. The workers are always friendly and it's nice to see the owners in there working too. The rotation of cookies is nice and they're big! Was in the area on vacation and was driving down the street and out of the corner of my eye, saw a purple sign that said Cookies... and in an instant had a HOLY SHIT moment... I have been following UCS for years on Insta and knew they were in NY but never realized WHERE they were (I live in Boston and like I said I was in town on vaca and totally forgot about where I was)... So I literally make an illegal turn right in the middle of the street (it was safe to do so, I promise) and pull right in... The shop is little, but in this little space there is TONS to buy, Trust me I think I bought it all. We got ice cream, too many cookies, the kids got candy, Pretzels, candies, just everything they sold. I was expecting the price to be insane and was shocked when it wasnt... Have been back 2 more times since originally trying them, the last time we went in the kids were super excited for Ice cream and unfortunately they ran out of ice cream that day, so if you are going for that, go earlier in the day! The good: It's a quaint little local shop and the staff are super amazing. The young woman who waited on me was just a burst of kindness. And this world really needs a lot more of THAT. The cookies are very big. My only issue with 3,000 calorie king size cookies is that I will eat the whole thing, in one sitting. But I don't take off stars for that. That is just my own preference haha. Here is my disappointment: At almost $6 per cookie, I was expecting something spectacular. And I will gladly ay $6 per cookie or MORE, if it's spectacular. However, when a store charges me $6 for a cookie, made with $0.48 worth of ingredients (or less), then I start to back off. In short: The cookies taste like they are NOT scratch baking. Not using real vanilla extract. NOT using real butter. and probably liquid eggs, And NOT worth $6 a piece for crappy ingredients. IT's a NO from me, Dawg read more

The cheese cake sold by Upstate Cookie Shack is the best cheesecake I have ever had. They have an Oreo cheesecake that is real nice but the espresso cheese cake is my favorite. This place is great. They have a wide selection of baked goods from cheesecake to giant cookies ranging from peanut butter to Oreo s'more's. If you are looking to stock up on snacks I recommend checking them out. When I went I got three giant cookies, the peanut butter, the s'more and a chocolate chip and every one was moist and flavorful. I also got some cheesecake and assortment of truffles. I placed an online order the day before Thanksgiving for some Italian lemon cookies and a variety of others and it was ready and packaged beautifully when I arrived a couple hours later to pick up. The Upstate Cookie Shack is a new cookie place that has opened up in the Capital Region. I decided to give it a try to see what it was about. I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter cookie. The cookies are here are definitely different. They're thick and are almost like scones. The chocolate chip cookie wasn't great. The chips were gooey and they were almost like gum. I wasn't a big fan. In contrast, the peanut butter cookie was really good. We got a birthday cookie cake for my son's birthday and it was delicious! It was huge and was so much better than any cookie cake I had in the past and wasn't too expensive. Also, if you have leftovers it freezes well and tastes like cookie dough out of the freezer. The owner Alicia was great to work with and they were able to make this cake with little notice. And for a few years I've been always impressed with how visually appealing the photos of their cookies were. I often found myself wondering how they could possibly produce such intricately detailed goods. To be candid, my other thought was if they look that good they must taste horrible. The taste, of course sweet but not too sweet and the perfect hint of butter to entice your taste buds. My taste buds were seduced aright as I found myself finishing two- one right after the other. Maybe I had to be assured the first cookie was a fluke or maybe it was the combination of site and taste proved too enticing. My first order was the Margarita Limon cake for my birthday last year, and I've since ordered several more flavors for myself and I've sent some as gifts too. They are consistently excellent cakes (well-packaged for shipping, too, which isn't easy), and they are always moist and packed with flavor. Margarita Limon remains my favorite, but Chocolate Borracha is a close second. And the Cranberry Orange cake at Christmas is destined to become a new holiday tradition in our family. I only wish we lived in the Albany area so I could grab one anytime! They also freeze really well. In fact, we have one mini cake in our freezer right now.

I didn't find them outrageously exciting, so I never went out of my way to buy some. Upon leaving Fresh Market in Latham today my wife had a craving to try the Crumbl store there. I don't think she had ever tasted a Crumbl cookie. Upon entering we found ourselves in close proximity to a counter displaying the variety of cookies available today. There were also four computer stations where you could place your order and pay. Having chosen credit/debit card as our means of payment we did not notice on the screen whether cash was an option. However, I do recall a notice taped to the table alongside the display cookies stating that no bills larger than $20 would be accepted. The back of the store was wide open to see and it looked clean with large storage units, commercial dough mixers, and multiple ovens and storage units for the finished cookies. There were two employees to answer any questions and fill the orders being placed. It appeared to be a very efficient operation. Once we placed our order we were out with our cookies in about five minutes. Our choices were: Pink Sugar Cookie Brownie Batter Cookie Cinnamon Roll Cookie Peanut Butter Cookie w/ Reese's Pieces We agreed that we liked the cinnamon roll and peanut butter cookies the best of the four. Those two were similar in that they had crisp edges and soft centers. In fact, the centers seemed to look barely cooked yet tasted finished. The flavor of each was exactly what you would expect, and the peanut butter cookie was the less sweet of the two. The brownie and sugar cookies were our least favorite. The sugar cookie was exceptionally sweet with its pink icing. This cookie also had a consistency of cake. It lacked that crisp edge of the two previous cookies and the center was, like the edge, a piece of cake again. The brownie batter cookie was hard around the edges, none of that crispness, just hard crunch. And the center was fully crisped. This might make sense since it had pieces of chocolate in it, and even an attempt of a few seconds in the microwave didn't seem to help much. Overall, many home baked cookies I've had are so much more to my liking. Crumbl cookies are overly sweet for my taste. If I don't want to go through the trouble of making cookies at home I'll stick to Fresh Market's raspberry or almond pillow cookies and Market 32's cranberry nut gourmet cookies.
