cookies acquired during the soft Scotia launch, June 2022 Father's Day car show

3.75 Stars to start - this was my second NibblexNosh experience; the first time we stopped by for a bag of cookies during their unoffical Scotia soft launch - a table outside of their "coming soon" storefront during the Father's Day car show and enjoyed them enough to start supporting their social media updates about the store. I stopped by today for the Grand Opening and was happy to see the bakery cases were nearly empty! When I spoke to the staff, they shared they were more busy than expected today - what a treat for them on Opening Day :D I interacted with six friendly staff members throughout my visit - the store was very busy, but the had streamlined the process and made the experience as pleasant as could be for a VERY Full little store that had been busy all day. I brought home a selection of cookies and immediately set up a taste test upon my return. I understand why the Brookie is a crowd favorite - and I was lucky to snag the last one in the case! - this brownie cookie combo is LEGIT. The Sallie's featuring sweet strawberry jam were enjoyable and the cookie texture reminded me of a kolache type dough; a Shugarman family favorite. The real surprise for me were the Gluten Free Chocolate Chip cookies - these were very much like a cookie dough treat with a dense texture I really enjoyed. I wish I would have visited early enough to try their Peanut Butter GF cookie version - but now I clearly have an excuse to go back for another visit soon.

We love nibble nosh!! This morning we got the sprinkle cookie and the chocolate scone. Both were incredibly tasty! They also have dessert boxes that are 10/10.

This new addition to Mohawk ave in Scotia is my new go to place for sweet treats. The store is adorable and the staff is welcoming and friendly. My favorite findings (so far) are the lemon blueberry bars, a delicious not too sweet lemon bar, on top of a perfectly crumbly graham cracker crust with a blueberry drizzle on top and the Brookie, a chocolate chip cookie with brownie batter in the center. Honorable mentions go to the chocolate orange hazelnut and sugar sprinkle cookies. Their cookies are chewy and soft. They also have a number of gluten free options. Absolutely delicious 5+ stars from this sweet treat lover.

The pastries did not disappoint as they were as good as the ones we had several months ago that my friend brought back. This is a quaint quintessential Italian bakery with cases filled with goodies. Today, we had a 10" Carrot Cake for an 18th birthday party. It not only looked picture perfect, it tasted great. The website describes the many flavors of cake available in different sizes in round or sheet cake style. When you call to order, you speak to a knowledgeable staff person to select a flavor, size, frosting, and filling. Then you select the decorations and colors you would like. The signature iconic script handwriting of their decorators is attractive and distinctive. You know it is a Villa Italia cake when you first see it. However, always check a custom order cake before you leave. When we picked up the Carrot Cake, the worker did not open box to show us the cake. They should be trained to show the costumer the cake before checking out! Fortunately, I did open box and saw a pink frosted cake saying HB Jackie. My cake was for an 18 yr old grandson. They fixed it so it looked nice, but it was not quick. Please check out my photos to see a few of the cakes we have ordered and enjoyed!
