One word - Yum! These donuts are delicious! They are so fresh and lite. Very different from Krispy Kreme and Dunkin. These are the real deal. The different flavors they have are to die for. Step out of your comfort zone and try something new. I am usually a chocolate freak but I've been stepping out and trying some fruit flavors and I have not been disappointed! Tried Duck Donuts for the first time today, and was not disappointed! I had a Cinnamon Sugar donut and Maple Bacon. Both were excellent! The Maple Bacon tasted like a pancake with bacon....so yummy! My son had the vanilla icing with rainbow sprinkles, which I took a bite of....a little too sweet for me. We will definitely be back! read more

Duck Donuts produces fine cake donuts. They are not yeast donuts like Krispy Kreme. They do it right in front of you. Too often cake donuts heavy and kind of gummy. Duck Donuts are light as a feather and perfect. You can get them unadorned. You can get with chocolate icing on them. Or vanilla. Or about a dozen other flavors. You can get any kind of sprinkles you want -- even BACON! They also make donut&ice cream confections. Kudos to the crew of hard-working and well-groomed young people working behind the counter. It pains me to give them 2 stars but really if you are charging $13 for a dozen donuts they better be perfect! The toppings were so skimpy I ended up with almost an entire dozen of chocolate glazed! So disappointed . It was treat for my hubby for Father's Day! I'm over it tried now done! read more

Ummm yes pls! Awesome donuts. Super fresh, super fast. Long line moves fast. I wish I could eat these every day because i would. In my top 5 donut shops for sure. Order has never been messed up. I like the simple original flavored the best, chocolate, glazed, and so on. Good price for the quality of donut. The coffee and iced coffee was good too. I would recommend for sure. Some decent outdoor seating. Parking is okay. It's a great place to get your donut fix in. read more

I've been to Duck Donuts twice now and both times they were terrific! I love that you can customize your order so you don't have any disappointment because they may be out of your favorite flavor. My fav combo is chocolate icing with chopped peanuts and they nail it every time! The maple icing with bacon is a family favorite with the peanut butter icing with bacon a close second. I definitely recommend picking up some donuts when you have a bit of a sweet tooth. read more

Stopped in here the other day on a whim-- spotted it in Herndon and felt compelled to check it out.Who can deny a hot and fresh donut? Not all places serve their donuts hot and fresh, but it's worth exploring to find the places that do. Amirite? Layout is mostly open with bins of t-shirts situated a few feet in front of the registers. This is an incredibly poor choice and made for line confusion. It seriously just needs to be moved. Service was slow, even with three people in front of me at the register line and a few people already waiting for donuts. It took several minutes just for me to get to the register. The donuts-- Yes! They were hot and fresh, and their glaze was gooey and delicious. I will say the peanut butter glaze wasn't too powerful, still creamy and rich though. They do provide plastic utensils by where you pick up the donuts, and I was glad I had grabbed a fork. The donut was soft (not too soft) enough to easily eat with a fork, and with the sticky glaze, it was a cleaner way to eat it too. Options themselves are somewhat limited. However, as you get to choose the glaze and topping yourself, there are quite a few combos to go through. A lot of people compare every donut place to Krispy Kreme. The fact is, Krispy Kreme has its own taste. You won't get Krispy Kreme here, but you will find a hot, delicious donut. I'm not a coffee drinker so didn't pay much attention to that, but did notice several syrup bottles meant for flavoring coffee. My boyfriend commented their coffee was fine, but nothing special. Basic coffee. Prices were perfectly reasonable. The wait for the donuts was somewhat slow as well. I could see the machine and seems they were working as fast as they could with what they could get. I'm just glad I didn't come at a busier time. Given their machines and the simple fact they don't have a high volume of donuts being produced on the spot, they were doing the best they could. However, it seems this place likely gets busy enough to merit them buying a second machine and using that during peak times (stick to using just one during slower times so as as to prevent food waste). I read someone say in a review they waited 15 minutes for 2 donuts, so clearly my wait was common. When I think back on my experience, it was a bit over 10 minutes for my 2 as well. Who knows, maybe they're fine with the wait and won't address it. Personally, I don't think there's a reason to wait that long for donuts, even if they fresh and topped by hand. Ultimately, I'd go here over Dunkin Donuts any day.... as long as I was feeling patient! read more

Delicious but ridiculously and overwhelmingly sweet. Best when warm. Favorite include strawberry frosting with sprinkles and maple frosting with bacon. Generous with toppings unlike other donut shops. Downside - $1.50 for really small carton of milk. read more

I am a big donut fan, but when it comes to customizing a donut count me in! I've always loved the taste of one but when I came to Duck Donuts I tried the maple and bacon donut (I'm sure that's probably that's what it's called). You can also customize a donut with whatever you want on it! So I highly recommend coming here if you donuts! This review is only regarding the business practice and customer service of this establishment, not the food there. I ordered a dozen specialty donuts that they were advertising on facebook and my app for St. Patrick's Day. I ordered on the evening of March 15 for a pickup of 7:30am on Mach 17. When I arrived to pick up my order, I found that there were no orders waiting, 6-7 other people waiting inside, and only 2 people working trying to fill at least 20 orders they had hanging up. I asked about my order and one of the women looked for it and then said that they would start on it. I watched as she moved my ticket order to second in place. Then I sat for another 25 min watching people come in after me getting their orders filled before mine. When I went back up to ask about my order, the other woman working loudly proclaimed to the entire place that we needed to be patient because they were busy. Of course I saw they were busy, but to have people come in after me and get served before me is not acceptable. My order was filled and I was at 7:57, but the donuts were hastily made and did not look like the advertised ones that I had seen. If you are going to advertise specialty donuts for a holiday, you may want to have more than 2 people working, AND if you are accepting online orders, I would expect that they would be filled by time they are supposed to be picked up. If you are not able to fulfill online orders, then your business should not accept them. read more

Great donuts made fresh. If you pick these up for work they will sure be a hit in the office. The donuts are tasty and if you get a sampler they will provide a nice variety of flavors, such as a maple donut with bacon! These donuts are on the heavier side though and are "cake" donuts as opposed to yeast donuts, so they are more dense and are not chewy or fluffy, so if you are looking for Krispy Kreme then you'll be disappointed, but they are delicious all the same. read more

Perfection. I don't like donuts very much, but I stopped in to get one on my way to work the other day, and it was absolutely perfect. I ordered one with chocolate and sprinkles (I eat like a 5 year old sometimes :-)). It was hot, crispy on the outside, moist and chewy on the inside. It wasn't overly sweet or greasy like most donuts. I went during the first week they were open, so it was a little slow. It was worth being late to work for though. read more

Another bad experience at this Duck Donuts location. They cannot honor small changes from normal doughnut orders like the OBX Duck Donuts can. Maybe I should have waited until June to give them another shot, but a coworker wanted to try them and she's in town now. I give up on them after this experience. The product is amazing! However, and a big however, the process is far too time consuming. They need to have some readymade donuts on hand for the customers that don't want to wait 45 min. Even the plain donuts are de-luscious!!! Their donuts are cake-like with just enough lite crunch on the outside with the delectable moistness on the inside! I was a little sad to see that Milwaukee Custard was gone. I guess I didn't contribute to the success of the place seeing as how I may have visited 4 or 5 times in the last 8 year. I won't let that happen with Duck Donuts though. I can just see myself this winter packing on an extra 5 lbs because these babies come out nice and hot! YUM!! On a cold day? My company had a fitbit competition and after all was said and done i decided to give my team a treat with noting better than donuts! Heard alot about this place from my coworkers so i decided to finally give it a shot. I love the fact that they make the donuts fresh as you order so it feels like Krispy kreme except the light is always on! Definitely recommend the maple glazed bacon. read more

Duck donuts does live up to its hype and the donuts smell and taste delicious. The French Toast donut is awesome as well as their maple glazed. Donuts are affordable and my husband and I picked up a dozen for about $13. There was no line and the wait wasn't that bad since the make them fresh. We live in Leesburg but it is worth the drive. The service was good and the order form was easy to fill out. Overall great first impression. Will definitely return! read more
