Ducati Austin let me down. Had a recall on my V4r. I texted their customer correspondence bot on their web page which ordinarily met with a pretty quick response in the past. This time no one replied. Several more texts, and nothing. I sent an email to Service, and still nothing. This I admit, was unusual. So I ultimately emailed again and cc'd one of the owners. That response was quick with a referral to their service department to schedule the recall work. The service department never replied. Finally I called and they said they had to order the parts and they would call me when the parts arrived. That never happened. So, I decided that this response probably was indicative of the level of work they would have performed.. I took the bike to Plano at European Cycle Sports after they responded right away, had the part in stock and took me the following week. Great service and great team. I purchased a new 2025 Desert X while I was there and they even delivered it to me. Could not ask for better service. I'm done with Ducati Austin. read more

After a few email exchanges with Greg Moody (even late at night) I walked in was and was greeted right away by the staff, Greg was was busy handling something, however, the staff started to walk me through and answer all questions I had on a V4. Great customer service may be hard to find these days - but not at Ducati Austin! I've purchased a lot of motorcycles over the years, and my experience working Greg was one of the best I've had in a long time. I bought a 1260 Multistrada S from half way across the country and had it delivered by a 3rd-party shipping company. Greg was really helpful, checked in on things often, and made the whole process smooth and stress free. The specific bike I wanted (color and model) was not available locally, so I got looking at dealerships across the country. What caught my attention to Ducati Austin was the incredible prices - they were one of a few dealerships listing prices that were thousands less than MSRP. But what stood out about Ducati Austin is that, despite their low list price, they still had reasonable/average dealer fees (set up costs, etc.)! When I called the other places with a super low list price, I was disappointed to learn that they were hiding thousands of dollars in artificially high dealer fees. By the time you got their bottom line, all of those "savings" had evaporated and you were back to paying full price. But thankfully, this was NOT the case with Ducati Austin. So if you want to work with great people, buy an awesome machine, and save a lot of money, it's a no-brainer. Give Greg a call at Ducati Austin and see what they can do! read more

I called them from SF, CA for a Ducati Performance, billet fuel cap advertised online at numerous locations between $217 and $229. My local Ducati dealership quoted me $224 but then couldn't find the part in their inventory. They were nice enough to let me know that Austin had 3 of the caps in stock. The guy who I spoke with at Ducati Austin found the part and said "that lists for $299.95." I calmly told him that this price was incorrect and shared the pricing at other dealers and listed online at both Ducati dealers and independent motorcycle parts companies. He responded, "sir, this gas cap has been discontinued by Ducati and is highly sought after here in Austin." In other words, "we're going to gouge you by selling this part over Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price because we think you don't have a choice and because that's just the kind of shady outfit that we are." I asked him one more time to sell me the part for the correct price and he refused to budge, despite the pricing info I had shared from his competitors. After he said "I'll include shipping in that price," I hung up the phone. I then called another Ducati dealer and bought the same gas cap in 5 minutes for $219.99 + shipping. Based on this experience, I wouldn't do business with this company, nor would I send any of my friends or acquaintances. Disappointing. NOTE: Contrary to the business owner's response below, his quoted price did NOT include shipping or Sales Tax, that is an outright fabrication. The parts guy initially told me that the cap "lists" for $299.95 (a total lie) and then tried to backpedal and make it sound less outrageous by saying he "would include shipping." The $242.20 price referenced below was NEVER quoted to me, only the $299.95. So dishonest, both the initial experience and the business owner's response. read more

I want a Ducati. Before I came here, I knew of Ducatis, I even really liked Ducatis, but figured I would never necessarily need to own a Ducati to have a full and complete life. That is no longer the case. I want a Ducati. So bad that Ducati ownership is a Bucket List item. And a high one at that. That's how incredible my first trip was to this outstanding dealership. My crew and I met one of the owners, Mark, and many of his staff, and he served as a host, tour guide, historian and mechanic...all-in-one. We arrived about 20 minutes before close on a Saturday, fully expecting to take a quick peruse around the shop and be kindly ushered out at the closing bell. Nope, not the case. Mark began chatting us up about ten minutes after we arrived and walked us through the sales floor, shop and building, talking about how the dealership got started, many of the bikes on the floor and in the shop, and introducing us to mechanics and sales people along the way, many of which had their own fascinating stories and tidbits to share. He even was kind enough to offer us out-of-towners a sneak peek at a really special project the shop was offered just the day before. I'm sworn to secrecy on the whole situation, but let me tell you that it amounted to a once-in-a-lifetime experience! So charming and willing to spend extra time with true bike buffs, Mark truly transformed me from a general bike enthusiast to a straight-Ducati obsessor. We didn't walk out of the shop until more than an hour after close, and were all way more educated about Ducati, MV Agusta, and Aprilia bikes and histories. My fellow Ducatisti and I were in town for Formula1 weekend, and this was to be just a quick stop for us. However, the experience quickly turned into an unexpected top highlight of a great weekend in Austin. Mark and his staff are phenomenal ambassadors of their craft, and of their city. Austin should be proud to have this special shop. I have a penchant for old, falling apart Ducatis, but I'd always avoided going to the dealership for service because in my mind it just wouldn't be worth it for the added expense. I was mistaken. I bought yet another old Multistrada, this one as a gift for my dad, and it originally came from Ducati Austin and had always been serviced there, so for continuity of care, I took it there to get it road ready. They did all of the fluids, new tires, did a bunch of work on the clutch, installed a GPS security system (bike theft is at an all time high in Austin, y'all), serviced the chain and even cleaned everything up and made it sparkle. It honestly looks like a museum piece right now, I feel a little guilty riding it. The care and attention to detail was unparalleled. The service team went above and beyond to make sure my expectations were exceeded. There was some trouble with the clutch on the bike, and they kept working on it until I was happy. You might pay a bit more for service at the dealership, but you really do get what you pay for. read more

Great experience with Vito at Ducati Austin! I've been a Ducati rider for the past 18 years on the same bike, a 1999 ST4. Every few years I have gotten the itch for a new bike, so I have visited dealers many times over the last decade or so. Ducati Austin has always been a great place to visit sponsoring activities and socials for new bike intros and local race events. I love my ST4, but the ergonomics are not as comfortable as I would like. I've had my eye on the Multistrada for the past few years and finally sprung for a test ride. It is not a "road sofa", but a very comfortable bike with great ergos and performance. It is my birthday week and coincidentally the same month I took delivery of my ST4 18 years ago. I negotiated a price with Vito. Not much of a negotiation since it costs more than a Kia and is the current model year bike, but with Ducatis, I've found it is a relationship your buying, not just a motor vehicle. Looking forward to my first weekend ride with the new Multi. Now if I can convince my wife to memorialize the ST4. It might not fit in the curio cabinet, but I think it would look great in the living room! read more

I intended to update this last week before the holiday weekend but did not get a chance to login. I got a phone call from Vito about my review and the circumstances that led up to it. He shared a lot of information about him, his business and how they operate and why. He was apologetic about the situation and after taking time to listen to my rant he politely explained how it happened, why it happened the way it did and asked if he could do anything to get me set up with another bike. I told him that I already purchased another bike (a year older but with fewer miles and directly from the original purchaser) but I appreciated his offer. All things considered, it seems that Ducati Austin and I missed a potentially positive experience by just a few hours, as in the deal needed to be done by end of business the day before, instead of the morning of, which is what happened. Lastly, I also conceded that a portion of the review was about Woods and I was still agitated when I wrote the review and I promised to update it. I'm not in the market for a motorcycle anymore and likely won't be for a few years but based on my conversation with Vito I'll surely give them a shot. I went completely blind folded when I made a visit to this store. I had no idea what type of bike I was interested in getting but I know I wanted a Ducati! The experience here was great from start to finish. I was educated on the different types, motors, amenities, etc. I decided to purchase one of the nicest floor models. The Diavel Titanium Series. There are only 500 produced world wide. Love the acceleration, the technology, motor, feel and handling on this bad boy! The wheel is huge on rear end and the seat is hand stitched. Feels really comfy. Sorry, was wet from the bike getting me all excited! The staff here is amazing. They answered every question I had, gave me a run down on the bike I chose after being educated on all types and I felt they gave me a good deal. Highly recommended! read more

I purchased my 2009 Ducati 1198 from these guys a few months ago. Before I bought it I frequented their store and acted like your typical tire kicker. That obviously did not faze the guys at Ducati of Austin as they treated me like a BUYING customer every single time. I am the most reluctant person when it comes to getting vehicles worked on at a dealership, but the guys at Ducati Austin are professionals and they really took care of me. I took my monster in because it would just die on the road. After letting it sit, it would start and then I would ride it again only to have it strand me again. I was sure the CPU was shot and it would cost me a huge amount to have fixed. They diagnosed a wiring problem in the fuel pump. Bad news was the new part was $1000, but they assured me they were working on a solution that wouldn't be so expensive. They found alternative replacement parts for the bike and I was out the door for less than $400! I am a happy camper. They took care of me and were very honest and helpful. I'm a beginner and a woman, so I expected Warren and his coworker, Mike, to direct the conversation to my boyfriend, an experienced rider. We have been to Ducati dealers all over the Country and arguably this may be the best one! The staff was knowledgable, friendly and welcoming. Tyler, who was the youngest certified desmosedici tech went above and beyond to welcome a fellow Ducatisti!! He showed us around the shop which included a couch that was situated in front of a window that faced the service room! Imagine that! Sitting on a couch while watching them service your Ducati! The shop is also adorned with Ducati memorabilia and parts! You'll see a desmo engine, the trellis frame and pics of Ducati glory all across the room. They also have their rare bikes displayed in the shop such as a Xerox 999R a Desmosedici and a 2 valve Ducati 750 race bike! Every inch of their shop is filled with Ducati pride!! From their service area, their bathrooms and even their parking lot! Yes...instead of white lines in between parking spots they have red lines! And all the lines point to Ducati Austin! What a truly passionate Ducati shop! Again, we have been to many Ducati shops across the nation and have been welcomed fondly by many but this shop, the vibe, the ppl, Tyler...this is a GREAT Ducati shop and it has exceeded my expectations. I just bought a Ducati Monster 696 from Ducati Austin, and I could not be happier. These guys have incredible customer service. I came in to check out some of their pre-owned inventory and ended up leaving a week later with a brand-new 2012 instead. Warren and McKenzie were available by email and phone for any question I had, no matter how small. They asked all the right questions and never pushed me into something newer or bigger than what I needed: they just want to get you on the bike that is right for you. These guys look out for their customers, not their own commissions, and you can tell the difference. One reason that I bought a Ducati is that I wanted to buy a new bike worry-free, getting top-of-the-line maintenance with no hassle. And I am not disappointed: the mechanics and the maintenance setup are incredible, you can take in your bike any time, for any help you need. Rory (Master Technician) took the time to go over the mechanics with me so I will feel totally comfortable breaking in my new bike. Ducati Austin really goes out of the way to take care of you, whether it's helping you find private riding classes to brush up on skills (I'm coming back to riding after a few years off), finding the best deal on insurance, getting gear, etc. The owners and staff (Vito, Cathy, Jason, Bull) are very friendly and fun to talk to. Ducati Austin has made a full 180 since my first visit. A year ago I rode my well maintained Ducati ST to their shop for a routine valve check and belt replacement. Thee days later I had a dent in my gas tank and a bent valve in the vertical cylinder. They owned up to denting the tank, but the valve was somehow my fault. My $400 visit turned into an $800 visit and it took them three weeks to get my bike back to me. Getting simple parts turned into having to order parts and check back with parts department every two weeks to see if they had arrived yet. Always an excuse if the parts guy was even there when I showed up. Since then the Service Manager, mechanic and parts guy are all gone. I have had my bike back for service without an issue and the parts I need are almost always in stock. Ducati Austin is well on it's way to a five star rating with me. Just not yet. read more
