I just purchased a helmet here and it was a very pleasant experience. I did some research online to decide sort of what I wanted the helmet to look like and then found this place on yelp. It was close to work so I got over there fast! The guy who worked there was real knowledge cable and help me pick out the perfect helmet and a bubble shield. I knew absolutely nothing about buying a helmet other than what I wanted it to look like and left with exactly what I wanted! You can beat that! The price was average but I cant complain about the service and convenience of the location. I would totally go back here for any motorcycle accessories I need. I cant say enough good stuff about this place its a winner in my book! read more

I swear by Wes and his team. Jesse, Kim, and Paul have been nothing but pleasant and friendly. The prices are darn near unbeatable. I have made many purchases from them. In the last 6 months I've bought, M4 mid pipe, new A* jacket/boots/and gloves. I've been trying on suits and realized I need to lose a few lbs, but the price quoted was amazing. If he has what I'm looking for in six months (grom/z125) when I'm ready to buy my girlfriend her first bike I won't hesitate to buy here. They literally have everything. Motorcycles, parts, gear, x-lite. I mean come on. You will not regret shopping here. New Review: I went late last week (5/22) with my blind uncle to get him and myself some new stuff. Paul was there and took care of us. Having a blind uncle that rides it is sometimes difficult for him to understand what something looks like or how it functions. Most places will obviously try to describe a tool/part/accessory but not many will open up packaging and allow him to put his hands on it. Paul doesn't care. Paul wants his customers to be 100% satisfied. My uncle ended up getting 2 helmets and a Sena headset and I was able to replace my Shoei X-14. End of story right? I don't think so. Today is Memorial Day, Motorangutan is closed. I wasn't sure of their hours today so I texted Paul to ask. I gotta day I got pretty lucky. Paul, who lives somewhat far away, had some errands to run in town and OFFERED TO MEET ME AT THE STORE ANYWAY! This is amazing to me! I don't expect anyone to do this... ever. On their day off. On a holiday. Especially when they live pretty far away. Seriously, who does that? Now I say all this because these guys deserve a tremendous amount of recognition but seriously, don't expect this to happen for you, like I said I just got extremely lucky. My favorite shop in town. Their staff are honest, knowledgable, aren't pushy, and their biggest interest is helping you out, whether you end up buying something from them or not, and that's worth a lot in my book. I trust their expertise and recommendations and buy most of my gear and parts there. They don't have the largest selection, but if they don't have it, they can usually get it. This is a long overdue review for Pink Gorilla. I'm coming up on a year since purchasing a very hard to find Ellsworth mountain bike. The owner is a motorcycle enthusiast as well as an off road cyclist. Wes treated me extremely well during my purchase, and has been great on follow up maintenance. High end bikes are often sold by shops staffed with snobs who act like you may not be cool enough to buy/ride what they have. Wes was the only person who took the time to spec the bike AND tell me the cost of the options. I was also able to demo the bike, which helped me make my decision. His support to the motorcycle crowd is just as good. He keeps cost down by running with a small staff. With that in mind, I don't think the hours are a problem. Great job! read more

Stopped by Pink Gorilla at the suggestion of a friend, and I'm glad I did! Wes, the owner was very friendly, attentive, and informative. The shop is a bit small, with limited inventory, but it's not cluttered,and the inventory is easy to see. If they don't have what you want in stock he'll order it for you, no problem. I was shopping for my first helmet, and Wes took the time to explain differences and features without making feel like a "noob". I also discussed purchasing my first motorcycle with him. and he suggested a few that he had available, two of which I really liked, but he didn't pressure the sale at all. Ultimately I found a helmet that I liked, and was in my price range. . They didn't have my size in in the color I wanted, but rather than try to up-sell me, or make me wait for a special order, Wes worked a little magic, and I walked out with the helmet I wanted. His shop has one of the best jacket selections I've seen in Austin. Nice selection of helmets and gloves, too. He had a decent selection of used cruiser and sportbikes when I visitied. All the bikes I looked at were very clean and priced for good deals. Fantastic service from a very nice guy. Where to start...I had no riding experience except for a saftey class I took two years ago when I wanted to get my M endorsement and start riding a motorcycle. Found one I liked on Craigslist that Pink Gorilla had for sale so my boyfriend and I went to check it out on a Saturday. After BF test rode it for me (because I wanted to wait until I could ride it in an open parking lot), I decided to buy. I also bought a jacket and helmet. The next day, BF and I took the motorcycle to a parking lot so I could practice and get used to it. Well, after a few attempts of trying to take off I just didn't feel comfortable on it and decided it was too big (heavy) for me and that I probably needed to take another safety class to refresh my skills. Took the class and really liked the smaller size of the bikes we rode during the range drills. A few days after taking the safety class I tried getting on my bike again but still didn't feel comfortable or confident on it. Wes offers a 100% satisfaction or 30 day return policy so I went back in to talk to him. While I was there I saw two smaller bikes and test rode both. After all was said and done, I was able to trade in my first bike for a smaller bike and it was all so hassle free! And the smaller bike was cheaper so I took some of the return money and bought saddle bags, gloves, riding pants, sunvisor face shield and a pair of gloves for my BF....after all he deserved a gift for all his help :) When I am ready to buy a bigger bike I know exactly where I am going....PINK GORILLA MOTORCYCLES. I don't want to do business with anyone else! And as far as finding the place...my GPS lead me straight to the location with no problem at all (well, excecpt it's all the way south and I live far north). He snagged a frame before they were even generally available, and we worked together on a set of parts. This place is a hidden gem! where do I start...let's see, I go in there for the first time, and I'm immediately greeted at the entrance by an employee named Carolynn. She was so knowledgeable, it felt like I was taking my MSF course! She, and another employee (possibly the owner?) Went so far as to walk to the parking lot to look over my bike so they could answer my questions by actually pointing them out, to ensure I understood what they were saying. I didnt ask for that, they just did it. They were also very quick to ensure me that any and all items they did not carry could be quickly and painlessly ordered for me. And that's another good point, they visited with me for a while, but not even in an attempt to make a quick sale. They spoke of safety precautions, laws, personal experience, etc. I am a new bike owner, and I couldnt have been treated better or made more comfortable. Truly amazing people! I used to be a small business owner and i know first hand how difficult it is to stay afloat in this economy. I will shop nowhere else when it comes to my bike. Just picked up a 2008 Vulcan 900 Custom from this dealer. Wes has been pleasant and accommodating. I doubt the motorcycle would have sold in two days time, but he did "hold" it for me for that long (with no deposits or anything of the kind), while I was working out the financing. I left happy with the deal, the machine, and the interaction. There was not much consulting involved from Wes, so I can't speak to that, but I get a feeling that he knows his trade. If I had to buy another cycle, I'd start looking here, no question about it. read more
