The 5-star review this place has is accurate and deserved. I had a Yamaha V-star that had been sitting in the garage for about three years, non-op; wanted to get it back up and running. Called 'em up and was assured that'd be easily doable. Had the bike towed there so they could assess it, determine what all would need to be done, and provide a cost estimate. The assessment took a little while (a couple of weeks), but once they'd determined that, they got the repairs/replacements done in under a week! Wow! The price was also incredibly fair. When I stopped in to pick her back up, I finally got to meet the folks and see the shop, and I gotta say, it's clear these folks like bikes and like working on bikes. This is their jam. The employees are friendly and helpful and their hands are stained with grease-- exactly who you want working on your vehicular baby! She's been purring perfectly ever since for all my zooming about town. The shop decor is fun too-- they've got a pinball machine on free play if you need to kill some time while you wait. On my way to the bathroom I saw they even have some arcade-style motorcycle SEGA games! They have merch for sale like t-shirts. Bathroom is immaculately clean for a shop toilet. Impressive. Cool relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. The guys really are super quick. I've referred them already to several. I walked in 10 mins before closing (unknowingly) after wrestling with my tires all day. They didn't hesitate and had them done in 10 mins. After a failed brake flush in my own I rode my bike up there. They had rear brakes replaced, front tire turned the right way (I'm not much of a mechanic lol), bled brakes, replaced axel nut that had stripped and let me know I needed a new brake fluid reservoir that had stripped. Took an hour to find all the problems and fix them. Seriously won't go anywhere else. Was expecting crazy prices but not the case. Wheels out on the rims under what I expected and one hour service a few days later was reasonably priced. read more

These guys are pretty great. Gotten some good work done in the past but it only takes one issue to turn things around. Had some work done at their recommendation that ultimately ended up making the bike incredibly unsafe. Ended up causing severe, severe wobble at all speeds. Thought it just needed to 'break in' so ended up riding it a few times to try to work it out. Unfortunately on the third ride, the wobble got so bad that I crashed and totaled the bike. I've been riding for 11 years and can say that this was 100% an issue with the bike. I'm very perplexed as to how this wasn't caught during their testing. Part of this is on me because another repair shop did not recommend this, providing an alternate, safer solution. I also should've taken it immediately back after noticing the crazy wobble (again, gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried to see if it would go away, but still I should've taken it back). Well, I'm out the money I spent on the repair which wasn't cheap, the bike that is totaled, and ofc my helmet which slammed on the road. I think perhaps it was a rush job as they have been seemingly understaffed lately. I think generally they do a decent job but had to make comment on this as the consequences were devastating. read more

I'm adding a little to my previous review from 6 months ago. Since then I've had a couple more occasions to use Milestone Motorcycles and I just can't say enough about how great they've been for me. I'd give these guys a 10-Star Review if I could. I needed a starter and had Tim change my oil while he was working on it. Although I've always used 10/40, he put in 20/50 and explained that because it's so hot, it would probably be better. Since then, the bike has been running beautifully. I never imagined a different weight of oil would make such a noticeable difference, but it did. Dealing with both of these gentleman has been a true pleasure. Knowledgeable, pleasant and reasonable. What more could one want? I have an older cruiser and the battery is in front of the rear wheel in a very awkward place to get at. Even if I could lay on my back, I'm at an age where I choose not to. I called these guys and talked to Richard, who ordered a battery for me. A day or two later I called again and rode up to get it replaced while I waited. For about 15 years I used to ride right up the block to Zabor's Cycle Repair, unfortunately Paul Zabor died a few years back and that shop closed. This reminds me a little of that shop too. It's tidy and well organized, with a lot of bikes out front in various stages of repair. Tim took great care of me, while I waited and it was very obvious that he knew his stuff. You can tell. Obviously it's much easier to do this when you have a lift and he put it up, changed the battery out, checked it and rolled the finished machine out front. The battery and labor charges were reasonable and very fair. I have to say that I'm thrilled to have found someone who I can take my "almost" vintage cruiser to in the future. Just want to call out how great I think Milestone motorcycles is! They are honest, fairly priced, and provide very fast turnaround on projects. I first started going to Milestone to have my tires changed out. I would just bring my rims and they have always been super quick to change my tires and balance for a very reasonable charge compared to other shops that would refuse to put on tires unless I bought from them. I've also brought them the forks from one of my bikes with blown fork seals and not only was their quote HALF of what RideNow quoted, there was less than a 24 hour turnaround while RideNow quoted several days. The work they did was excellent and I've had no problems since then. My most recent experience involved scheduling an appointment to have my spark plugs replaced at my request due to what I assumed was fouled plugs. But the guys at Milestone went above and beyond to do some testing and discovered a strange problem where my battery had been shorting out with an aftermarket seat - I never would've guessed! Anyways, they proactively found the root cause of the problem and only charged me $50 for their time, saving me lots of money in parts/service for something that didn't need to be done. I'm so impressed and appreciative of the honest mechanics, excellent work, and wonderful customer service this shop has provided me I can't recommend these guys enough! Thanks Milestone! read more

I've been coming to Milestone since I got my first bike a year ago, and they've never let me down. Miles, the original owner, sold the place a few months ago, but Richard, the new owner, seems more than capable with bikes and is quite a swell guy. I've had everything from basic maintenance and routine check-ups on my bike to some pretty serious internal repairs after a crash, and I've always left satisfied. The prices are reasonable, though it certainly helps that bikes are far cheaper than cars! Motorcycling noob here; against my own advice I purchased a used bike (2012 Vulcan 900 Classic SE, 15k miles) from an individual on a Sunday. The more I thought about my transaction, the shiftier the seller became in my mind. I took what I assumed was my death trap to Milestone Motorcycles, based on positive Yelp reviews and proximity to my home (I'm a new rider, let's not forget, and I wasn't looking forward to too many miles on Austin's surface streets). I explained to the proprietor Miles the situation, and he offered his own stories of bad motorcycle decisions and let me know they would check everything out for me. Both Miles and Dan (a very professional mechanic) were very easy to talk to, even given my lack of experience with motorcycling. To make a long story unending, the bike was ready one day later with a clean mechanical bill of health (Dan did say it was one of the dirtiest bikes he'd ever seen). Milestone Motorcycles did what should have been a pre-purchase inspection, changed fluids, installed new tires, and fixed some wiring that I had screwed up while installing a light bar, all without condescension. They also performed the state inspection required to get the motorcycle registered. The following weekend I put over 300 miles on the motorcycle in the Kerrville area riding portions of the Three Sisters route, without a single motorcycle-induced hiccup. Great service, quick turnaround, reasonable cost. After two years in storage my daughter's 125 cc scooter wouldn't start. We watched a YouTube video, rolled up our sleeves, and cleaned the carburetor. We managed to get the engine sputtering but it wouldn't stay running. I thought maybe we just needed run it up and down the street a few times to help clear it out, but the scooter was low on oil so I went to Milestone Motorcycle to get some. I didn't need much, and Tim just flat out gave me an open quart that had enough left in it to top off my oil. But that wasn't the problem, so we brought it in to have Tim take a look at it. Turns out the carburetor was still dirty -- apparently it takes more than watching a YouTube video to become a competent motorcycle mechanic. Tim cleaned the carburetor, changed the oil and filter, gave it an overall safety check, and had it back to us the next day running like new for a lot less than I expected to pay. I called them on Monday and told them I needed a bolt replaced on the foot peg. He said he could do it and if I brought it by that morning he could have it out that day. I took the bike in today and had him replace the bolt and put on a floor board with toe/heal shifter. I also had him adjust the brake pedal on the other side. He had it all done by lunch.
