(1) This was the only shop of the several I called who would attempt a repair on a wrecked Vespa scooter. All the body shops I called said they don't work on scooters, and all the scooter shops I called said they don't do body work. AF1 was the only one who said they could service it. (2) When I emailed pics of the scooter to get an estimate, they sent the estimate back in only 41 minutes. (That estimate was that the cost of the repair would likely exceed the value of the old scooter, but that's what insurance needed to know.) Best dealership experience ever ! Sean is an awesome person to work with; He is knowledgeable, genuine and passionate about motorcycles. Always goes above and beyond, even responding to my texts after hours. Sean helped me choose my Tuono 1100 RR, over the more expensive Factory, because it suited me better. Additionally, he worked hard to find aftermarket parts (from their excellent website) and get everything setup including registration, all paperwork, so that when I arrived on the day to pick up my moto, everything was installed and ready to go. I also interacted with Chris in the workshop, who knew his craft and took real good care with my motorcycle. James is the parts expert and talked to me extensively about mods I could do on my own (like show me how to install handlebar risers, swap foot pegs, shifter pegs, and more). Short Version: If you're looking for where to buy your motorcycle and AF1 Racing carries it (for me it was a 2017 Aprilia RSV4RR) and you live anywhere in the continental United States, reach out to AF1 Racing. They KNOW their products (since they do host Apriliaforum.com), can give you a great deal on aftermarket parts you want to installed (since they have a huge online parts website every gets their parts from), and they use the best motorcycle shipping I've ever dealt it. Definitely recommended! Long Version: I live in Southern California and was on the market for a 2017 RSV4RR. I have about ~5 Aprilia dealerships within driving distance, and decided to go test drive one and immediately fell in love with it. However, the out the door (OTD) price they wanted, and all the other dealerships near me wanted, was not competitive enough for me. Interestingly I found another (non sportbike) dealership in Texas selling a used bike RSV4RR that I ended up calling AF1 Racing about just to see if a bike that new (used) was something to worry about. Even with me, a random stranger, calling about another dealership and their Aprilia bike, the guy (Ed, AF1 Racing cofounder) was nice enough to spend a few minutes on the phone with me. This alone tells you how dedicated they are to customer service. In the end, I didn't feel comfortable buying the other bike and decided to call Ed back a few weeks later to work out a deal and try to buy a new bike from him. Between having the last black RSV4RR (my preferred color), knowing that they would check out the bike before delivery (they ask their customers if they can put on some miles to make sure don't have any reliability/quality/warranty issues), and that they could hook me up with any aftermarket parts at a good deal (since almost everyone in the states buys parts from them), I knew my bike was in good hands. The cherry on the top was finding out just how easy the shipping company (that AF1 Racing uses) was to work with in terms of getting them to deliver on a specific day. Ed helped with this process and everything worked out perfectly. Heck, I even had to call AF1 Racing back because registering the bike in CA requires the DMV reading the engine number and the salesman on the phone was really cool and walking me through finding it (its actually pretty tricky). All in all, AF1 Racing is the type of dealership you wish you had in your backyard. They definitely know their stuff, Ed never tried to sell me on any products he didn't recommend himself, and they're constantly looking out for the Aprilia riding community. I recently bought this beautiful Moto Guzzi Stelvio from AF1, this organization is first class. I flew in from Dallas to buy a used bike, sadly and to no fault of AF1 it had an electrical connection failure that caused the bike to break down on the way home. I had my salesman's cell phone (Brandon), I called him on the ride home Sunday. He immediately took care of things, the Moto was towed back to Austin and the weak link was found and repaired. They graciously offered to compensate me for my trip to Austin and offered for me to walk away or have the Moto shipped to me at no cost. We had looked into buying a Vespa here in Houston and were disappointed in the two dealers we have here. One dealer here in Houston didn't even know how to get the Vespa off the center stand, and the other local dealer didn't really seem interested in making a sale (headphones in ears and disengaged). The only key to my scooter was broken by Electric Avenue Scooters. When I called AF1 Racing to see if they would be able to make me a new key from the broken remains of my old one, the person on the phone sounded confident that they would be able to give it an honest attempt. When I took my broken key in, Ed, the key guy, sounded a little less confident because my key was both twisted AND broken, but stated he would give it his best shot while managing my expectations. A few minutes later I had a new key and when I got IT WORKED PERFECTLY! Everyone at AF1 Racing was friendly and helpful and knowledgeable as well as being absolute wizards. I had a great, no-pressure sales experience here and ended up with a bike I absolutely love (2013 Vespa S150). I've been in for scheduled maintenance once already and will likely continue having the bike serviced here as long as I'm in Austin. My previous review pointed out a couple of shortcoming that AF1 has gone out of their way to correct and compensate for. They now refer to Austin Paintworks for cosmetic work, a fantastic business with great pricing, so you can trust you're getting a good deal there. As to the part mixups, everything was ultimately due to one minor mistake, and Cody in parts and maintenance was extremely helpful in resolving everything, I even ended up with a $75 refund for my trouble. Basically, if something goes wrong with your experience at AF1 it was almost certainly some sort of oversight, and if you bring it to their attention they'll make it right for you, exactly what you hope a customer service experience to be! read more

This is the new Vespa Austin dealer in town and all I can say is thank goodness. Not to publicly dish anyone but the store on S. Lamar was, well lets just say not so good. AF1 is a completely new owner of the Vespa brand here. I haven't been riding my scooter much over the summer (read duh its freaking hot) and when I tried to start it up the other day the battery was dead, dead, dead. I don't have a way to haul the scooter to the shop and didn't want to pay $$$ to have it hauled there just for a dead battery. So I called the new store and they were so friendly and had great follow up. They came out to my house (for a fee of course) brought a battery tender thing that charges your battery, hooked it up and off they went as stealth as the tooth fairy. I picked up a 2013 used Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX with low miles and at a great deal from a private party. Turned out it had an existing electrical problem that would discharge the battery to a low voltage within about 75 -100 miles of driving. It was still under warrenty so I took it to AF1. I dealt mainly with Brent, and he was wonderful to a new customer who had purchased the bike second hand. I sold BMW bikes for a year so know the business and I'm a pretty good bike mechanic. I confess to being kind of a BMW fan having owned around 20 of them but always having wanted to try an Italian bike. While I really enjoyed riding the Stelvio, I had multiple issues with mine. My bike literally went to AF1 about every month for the first 5 months I owned it for some warranty issue. Maybe I just got a lemon, but several things seemed to be design mistakes. Brent was proactive in fixing some of these things before I got stuck 500 miles from home, which I really appreciated. Also AF1 finally replaced the entire clutch assembly as it squeaked loudly when first taking off. I'm sure they had to do some negotiation with Guzzi to get it approved. The bike had that issue from the start, and I rode it 10K miles in the hope it would resolve itself, but it did not. Brent did that repair himself as it's a multi day project, and he is a masterful mechanic, that I'd trust with anything I own. They preordered the parts, told me when to drop it off and gave me a new Aprilia Caponord to ride for a loaner bike (which I actually loved). I have the highest respect for AF1, and would be comfortable buying from them anytime. I've kind of lost it with Moto Guzzi's reliability though, even though the bike was sure fun to ride. That said, mine may have been a lemon and others may have a totally different experience with Guzzi and the Stelvios. read more

I even walked into a local motorcycle shop and when I told them what I owned and what I needed I got blank stares. Oh well, I guess it's the price you pay for owning something so unique. Anyway, I tried different websites that "specialized" in Moto Guzzi's but they were so hard to navigate that I nearly gave up buying jewelry for my new beauty. UNTIL I discovered AF1 Racing. Granted, some parts are still special order and I did have to wait longer than average for them (not AF1's fault) but they can get them for you.
