I dropped my wheel off for a tire installation and balance on saturday. the guy told me it should be ready that day but it could take 24hrs. the next day I call at the same time I dropped it off. tire was put on but hadn't been balanced yet. "no tire employees on the schedule" but they said it would be ready by 2pm and they'd call me when it's done. 4pm rolls around I call again and it's still not done. it's now Monday morning, I call and ask if my wheel is ready for pickup. to my surprise it is. ride the bike to work the next day and the tire hadn't been balanced. 2 days and they couldn't get that done. go here to get work done. it's half ass work. read more

I'm going back. Stopped here after two other stores, looking for a new jacket and some gloves. This is my store. I was asked for help as soon as I walked in, told the person what I wanted and they pointed me in the right direction, and they did something cool: they let me shop. Riding gear is very personal: it's the only thing between you and the road if something goes down. You want it to fit. To feel secure, well-made and substantial. And you don't need some "clerk" hurrying you up. Let me be clear: the peeps @the Killeen Cycle Gear shops are not "clerks." They're riders. They showed me the section I was interested in and let me try on every single jacket I wanted without bothering me. I was there half an hour trying one after another and, yes, they checked in twice to see if I needed help, but when I said I was cool so were they. Finally, I started to leave because the only jacket I wanted - a full-leather beauty that fit like a dream, I could not afford. Before I got out the door one of the guys asked me about what was happening. And here's what happened next. That guy found me two discounts I was eligible for, and his partner was able to dig my Cycle Gear membership out of the records even though it did not initially show up on their terminal. Bottom-line? I got out of there with about 35% off my jacket with enough cash to buy some high-quality gloves. Yes. The peeps at Cycle Gear - at least in Killeen - will do everything they can to help you get what you want at the best price available without any sales "BS". The place is alright the staff is helpful however their exchange policy is a joke. I always do my best to buy at physical stores before buying online but I'd suggest using this store as a "try before you buy online" (from a different company of course) type. I called in advance to see if they had a tire I needed. The salesperson confirmed they did and even set the tire I wanted to the side so that I could come get it installed. Was in and out in about a half hour once I got there. Great service. read more

One of the best selections of Motorcycle gear in the area.. Prices are very competitive. They offer discounts to military and Motorcycle safety foundation graduates. The customer service is above reproach and second to none in this users opinion. I deal with dozens of motorcycle equipment and supplies a month...The folks at Cycle Gear are some of the best. Tire prices and the on site install at a FAIR price is another huge thumbs up....if you can remove your own wheels (and yes you can buy the stands needed at CG...the one time cost is about the same as you would pay EVERY time you had tires changed if you rode the bike into a dealer) The ONLy reason the is not a 5 star review is the brands offered and the ratio of each. While they do have a limited on hand supply of some top brands, the store is filled with the in house and lower quality Bilt brand. Let me quantify "lower quality" It works, its as safe as anything else, it has somewhat less options or features perhaps, or the build itself, materials while good enough and not what you will find in top quality gear.. That said, the price reflects that and the Bilt branded items do the job at a lower entry level price point that makes it easy for the new rider to get properly equipped for a safe ride.. All that said.. I bought two Bilt items.. the Iron riding pants...which I use daily and are holding up just fine..and a Jacket that will be used come winter time while I teach others how to ride... read more

I've been to Cycle Gear many times since they've opened and never had a bad experience. I was just there today and was treated very well! Recently I bought a new helmet without even considering the fact that I was on my bike and had no way to carry my old helmet. I told the guy I'd come back and get the new one, and he told me I could leave the old one here and come pick it up whenever I had the chance. I thought it was pretty cool he was willing to baby sit an old helmet. I made it back the next day, and there was a different sales person, but she knew exactly what I was talking about when I told her why I was there.
