Awesome bike rental rates and great service. My friend discovered this place on Yelp, and it was definitely a solid choice. We rented 4 bikes to take on the Iron Horse Trail for the day. The rental rates were REALLY reasonable (only $25/bike for 24 hours). The quality of the bikes were great too...they looked to be in either new or really good condition. The guys working there also took the time to set up each bike for us and answered any questions we had. The shop is conveniently located to easily access the Iron Horse Trail. It's literally right around the corner from the shop where you don't have to cross any busy roads or highways to get to the entrance. I was in need of a cruiser bike as I have back, hip & wrist issues w/riding a mountain bike. I was referred to Dublin Cycle via a Tandem bike shop in Pleasanton. Of course we went but then we had to 'shop around'. We were happy off the top w/the young man that was helping us at Dublin Cycles, he was candid, honest & really listened to my needs. I wanted a bike that would be easy to ride & could be on dirt paths too. I found the perfect bike. We'd never heard of the company Marin, (did our research too) I bought the Stinson for its purpose, back, hip, neck comfortability. I received a "thank you for your business" from the owner as well a thank you note & a free tune up in 60 days. They sent along w/that, a list of instructional clinics & fittings which exceed my need for speed so to speak, I am a very basic amateur, however, the options look great for a more serious rider... So I purchased a basket & a helmet as I am a 65 year old rider & will seldom ride streets, more of a path rider. The point of my review is to say, I went to 3 bike shops, this one was the most helpful & patient. They also had a good selection to weigh my options. My Marin Stinson bike, Bell helmet & detachable basket was a perfect fit! read more

They wanted to charge $50 for a bleed on front disc breaks and then claimed that it might be more to change pads. Last time I was here they over charged for a simple tune up. They seem to be insulted when you ask about their pricing and responded "that is what we charge." I did the work myself, which took less than 15 minutes. read more

You get what you pay for, and so much more! Came in with a commuter bike that had loose brakes and a snapped-off derailleur. This was the day before New Year's Eve, so things were pretty packed. But even so, the clerk checked with the owner told me they could squeeze me in, and they'd get to it tomorrow. And that's exactly what they did. Got a call the next day to come pick it up, and it looked and felt like the day I bought it! I was absolutely thrilled. This is one of the few stores in the Bay Area that carries recumbents. Not only that, but the staff I spoke to had actually ridden them and knew what they were talking about. Sad to say, I find that's not often the case in bike stores. I'm guessing the store caters mostly to people who drive with their bikes to go ride somewhere traffic free, and who see biking as a cute recreational activity (rather than a means of transport). This is based the general store inventory and on the fact that their website links to a Mapquest map that doesn't even show BART or any other transit connections! Well, here's a helpful tip: this store is a 5-10 minute ride from Dublin BART station - and not only that, it's right next to a spur of the Iron Horse Trail. You can ride from the station to the shop without ever having to ride on the arterial (3 lanes each way) which is the only alternative. Contrary to what other reviewers have written - you are not limited to taking test rides in the parking lot. I handed over photo ID and a credit card, and took a RANS high racer out for about 45 minutes, up and down the Iron Horse trail and into some surrounding neighborhoods. read more

I was looking to purchase a bike for my teenage son with autism. The service and attention to what we requested was outstanding. We were helped by two different people and I'm sorry to say that I cannot remember their names! Both employees were in tune to my concerns and made sure we were comfortable with our final decision. Non the less everyone in the shop that we have dealt with has been professional and courteous. Most recently I was out riding and fell off my bike, I took it to DC and the first thing they ask me was if I was all right. They looked at my bike and I had to leave it. I was given a quote for the repair and when I picked it up, the cost was much lower than they had originally told me. I will definitely use Dublin Cyclery for all of my biking needs, I have started sending my friends over as well. They are professionals with out the big egos. read more

Came to get my brakes adjusted on my Northrock bike (yes, the Costco one). I was expecting the typical 'snob' reaction, as in wine 'snob', beer 'snob', whatever 'snob', with disdain looks and the "Geez, I can't believe I have to work on this crap bike". To my surprise, the tech puts my bike up on the stand, inspects it and tells me what needs to be done, no muss, no fuss. He tells me that it would be done before they close at 5:30. The shop calls back at lunchtime says they're done. Very impressed. So to sum it up: 1. Not bike snobs 2. Quick 3. Professional 4. Fair price for services. Not much more you could ask for in a shop. When it's time to get a new bike, these guys will get the first shot at my business. The only downer (and its not a biggie), they don't take American Express, but I understand, those merchant fees suck. read more

Let's just cut to the quick: I am really hard on my bike! I've had some grade A crashes in my time, I ride up and down hills, and I'm still a newbie in the ways of cycling. After spending time at another cycle shop, I met the owner of Dublin Cyclery, "Chuck Tyler" at Dublin Chamber of Commerce meeting and hit it off with him with a bang! He says to me "Bring your bike to me and I'll take care of you!" Did he, and how! First, a fitting for $65.00 is a steal compared with the $100.00 plus that other shops charge. Add to the fact that his shop did a complete check over (to include replace a tube and not charge extra), tightening screws, adjusting what needed to be adjusted, etc...and boy, was I a happy camper! Ah, but the real test was to ride the next day...and what difference Dublin Cyclery has made! My bike rides like its brand new! I'll be back and will joyfully hand over my credit card knowing that I'll be well taken care of! Consider yourself enlightened! read more

Just received a new Gunnar frame from Dublin Cyclery. There are a few other options for getting this particular frame in the Bay Area, but the internet would have me believe that Dublin Cyclery is the best place and the internet is probably right about this one. Big thanks especially to David, who was my sales rep for this frame. Over the three month period from measurement to delivery (yes, custom frames take a while), he always remembered what had been done, what needed doing and of course, my name, which I think is quite impressive this day in age (and just makes you feel good). A final note, I'm from Redwood City and there are dozens of bike shops within a 5 mile radius of where I live. If it's not an emergency, I'd rather drive 45 minutes one way to Dublin Cyclery. read more

Charlie is fantastic. Charlie helped us try out numerous bikes, ordered bikes into the store so we could try them out, helped us pick out the proper helmets and other accessories... SUPERB. They let you ride the bicycle in the parking lot to try it out to see if you like how it feels - none of the other shops we went to had this option and this was extremely useful for someone like me, who had not been on a bike that wasn't stationary for close to 20 years when visiting the store. We visited most of the bike shops in the East Bay (Lafayette, Danville, Livermore, Pleasanton...) and NONE of the shops were nearly as attentive or helpful as Dublin Cyclery. They also had a really good selection of Bicycles - primarily Marin and Giant, but those were what we were interested in anyway. read more

Best place for bikes, really knowledgdble staff. Told them what I was looking for and the price point I did not want to go over. No up-selling, showed me a couple of options. Test ride two of them, then ordered one of them new. Bike in around a week, they fitted me and put on all of my stuff( pedals,, saddle, light and ,phone holder etc.) They offer military discount, which is great. A cycling enthusiast friend of mine told me to go to Dublin Cyclery when I was just starting out with cycling last year. I should have listened. Instead, we purchased hybrid bikes from Bicycles Pleasanton. The staff at Bicycles Pleasanton are rude and unhelpful. I recently went in for a repair and they sent me home with a part that didn't match or fit my bike. The staff at Dublin Cyclery are such a contrast. They are so helpful! I needed a rear axle and some additional hardware for my bike and they took the time to try it out on a bike of the same model in the shop to make sure that it would be a fit to my bike (since I didn't have my bike with me). The staff here at Dublin Cyclery is great. I wish I had purchased our bikes from them. I also think it's great that they have so many used bikes and even used bike parts. These guys aren't bike snobs with a fancy downtown storefront, all about making big $$$$. They're a nice friendly bike shop with great staff members who are truly helpful. read more

The prices are really good at this bike shop. My only complaint is that when I came in to test ride a bike, I couldn't get a good feel for it in the parking lot, especially when the lot is crowded. I wish I could've taken it down the street to the residential area and left my ID to get a better feel for the bike. There is a decent selection of bikes here and the workers seem pretty knowledgeable. They seemed helpful especially if you have a problem with your bike. This place is as good as it gets. I went in to purchase an entry-level road bike since I am new to cycling and I had a variety of questions and concerns regarding my choice in which bike. Robert is the guy who helped me pick out the perfect match. He properly sized a bike up for me and explained the reasons what the importance of proper fitting on a road bike. He was very informative and attentive. I felt a genuine sense of care in the tone of his voice and that means a lot to me as a paying customer. He was very eager to let me test ride several bikes despite the fact that they were fairly busy and he had to air up these bikes to let me test ride. He was very patient and tailored my experience to my own needs. This place is what good customer service is all about! The price on these bikes are VERY fair and yes, you may find better deals on the internet, but in the long run, it will save you time and money on repairs because they honor the first major tune-up for free and also all repairs within the first year. Not to mention the lifetime lubrication and cleaning. Also, I was kind of on a budget and I explained it to Robert. He immediately understood my situation and even gave me a deal on the bike. I ended up getting about $200 off the MSRP of a 2012 Giant Defy 2. If you want to save a few dollars and receive a bike disassembled in a box with no guarantee, then go to Amazon or Ebay.. but if you want world-class service, knowledge, warranty and a shop that backs their work.. then go to Dublin Cyclery. Woke up and wanted to hit the trials, then I remembered I didn't have my bike with me, so I went to Dublin Cyclery. Service was great! Tony offered me a great bike at the beginning and they asked a reasonable amount for reimbursable down payment but too much for my comfort, so they understood and hooked me up with another great bike so I could hit Pleasanton Ridge with it. It was just what I needed just to go check out the trails for my first time. If I could change one thing...? I would put them in the front of the shopping center to receive more potential customer exposure. As soon as I get my bike up here, I'm taking it to them for a tuneup! read more

The guys at Dublin Cyclery are top-notch. I shipped my bike there from another state, site-unseen, based upon the previous Yelp reviews. The shop did not disappoint. David took great care of me, even staying late on a Saturday to help me set up a rack that I wasn't even able to buy there due to poor-planning on my part, and Robert saw to it that the derailleur hanger that UPS broke in shipping got replaced, even bending mine back into usable form before the part got there so I could at least ride. Andy also helped me out early on in my plans to send the bike there. The selection of new and used bikes, clothing, tires, tubes, and other gear is impressive, and once again, THEY LOOK OUT FOR YOU. David's definitely got my endorsement as a class-act kind of guy. He rides too, pretty much every kind of bike imaginable. I have found my local shop for future trips to the area. read more

My poor bike had been neglected for 3 years. There was rust, flat tires, loose cables...it wasn't pretty. I brought it here based on the great Yelp reviews and the price for a tune-up seemed reasonable. Everyone in the shop was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they didn't judge me on the condition of my already fairly crappy bike. They were very up-front about exactly what needed to be fixed, and I was surprised I didn't end up needing the more expensive tune-up. A few days later, my bike was fixed and I'm back on the road. If I have any issues in the future, I'll definitely be back! read more

The staff here worked very hard in making sure that I tried out as many bikes as possible before I made my final selection. I rode 10 different bikes and talked about what I liked and didn't like about each one. Moreover, they said hello to me right away. We stopped at Livermore Cyclery first and stood by the bike I wanted to try for 15 minutes, waving at sales people and saying loudly, "I like that bike, I want to try it." My husband and I had been thinking about buying bikes for a while and finally decided to do it. We visited dublin cyclery on a Saturday and the were pretty busy, but we still received amazing service from Mario who was super honest about stock situation. He brought a bike similar to the one I wanted to test drive, while riding he went and looked for the one I wanted. He was super knowledgeable and friendly I bought the bike, it needed to be built. When I got home I changed my mind and went back the next day to purchase the one I test rode instead. He was awesome about it and got it tuned up and ready in about 30-40 minutes. The store is outstanding - they helped me get set out for my first bike in 10 years and assisted me every step of the way with equipment, servicing and advice. Since then I've serviced my bikes there every time I need it and never have been disappointed. The only issue I have is wait times for servicing - they are pretty popular so you may need to schedule a week or more in advance - but you get what you pay (and wait) for in an excellent shop. read more

These guys are fantastic, they deserve your business on customer service alone. Not to mention they're exceptionally fair pricing. I remember getting mountain bikes here as a kid but that didn't give me much insight into the actual transaction process. Last year I bought my first road bike. I had shopped around a bit. It was something I was considering getting into all winter. Cody spent a good hour plus talking to me and and answering any questions I had. I came back and placed an order later that week. There was no attempt to up sell something I didn't need but at the same time they made sure I was getting enough cycle for my intended use. Just right Goldilocks, this one's just right. I have since come back for accessories, tune ups, and all of my other bicycle related needs. I even brought my girlfriend's bike in here. I don't live in California anymore but my father does and I visit every so often. It goes without saying that the Diablo area has some phenomenal roads to ride (assuming you don't get hit by a car). Dublin Cyclery has a customer for live out of me whenever my bicycle and I are in the Bay Area. read more

These guys deserve 6 stars, if I could do it. We bought a bike for my daughter here earlier this year, and I recently bought a new one for myself to replace a folding bike that wasn't that practical. There is absolutely no pressure to buy, and the staff asks questions and listens to you to help you get the bike you're going to want to ride on a regular basis. The part that I liked best was that you can do an extended test ride to see if the bike is really for you. I had my mind set on two different bikes, and one seemed okay in the parking lot, and the other not so okay. The salesman suggested I take them out on the Iron Horse trail, which runs on the opposite side of the store parking lot. I left my driver's license, and after a 10 minute ride, wound up changing my mind about which bike to buy. I'm much happier with the purchase as a result. This store is completely unpretentious; they don't care if you're going on 100-mile rides on the weekend or riding around town for fresh air once every other week. All of the employees treat customers with the same amount of respect no matter what kind of bike you want to buy or already own. Unfortunately, this seems to be a rare thing in bike stores, in my experience, so I will continue to come here for service and parts. read more

I trusted the other 120+ Yelp! reviews of Dublin Cyclery and was not let down. I brought my 2002 Trek 1000 in for a mega tune-up. It had been years since I gave it proper mechanical attention, and was only riding sporadically. Recently I have been giving my daughter rides in her trailer carrier but I could tell that everything was in need of some TLC. The final straw came when both of my cleats broke. The folks at Dublin Cyclery took care of everything from my shift paddles, break pads, chain- they even re-wrapped my handle bars, attached a horn, and fixed my shoes! My 14 year old bike feels as good as new. I am so glad to have a safe and smooth ride. Thank you Dublin Cyclery! read more

After we moved back to the Bay Area from Connecticut where riding a bike on the road equates to a suicide attempt, I want to get back on the bike saddle again with all the inviting bike lanes here. So I decided to trade up from my old clunker and get a newer and lighter hybrid bike. Being new to the area (and actually didn't look up any bike shops on Yelp), we happened to stumble upon Dublin Cyclery. So glad we did! The staff was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They were patience with every question we asked and really tried to fit my recreational riding needs to the right kind of bike. We compare shopped at Performance Bike and Costco and feel that what we can get from Dublin Cyclery is a great deal considering the price and the service we get from them. They offer a free 60-day tune up after the purchase. I just brought my bike back and they did a great job with it. I'd highly recommend them whether you're a newbie or an experienced biker. read more

Bought a front shock from them and one of the brake boss posts was not level and the brake pads were not spaced evenly between the rim. When my daughter decided to purchase a bike for getting back and forth to college, we had what turned out to be the great fortune of choosing Dublin Cyclery to look for the perfect bike for her. All I can say is the two gentlemen who run this store (and their young assistants) have great customer service down to a science! They were very informative, very helpful and they didn't pressure us for a sale. Unfortunately, the bike we chose turned out to be the wrong choice for our household - we live in a second floor apartment and the bike was just too heavy to easily carry up and down the stairs, plus it took up too much room in our apartment. When I called Dublin Cyclery back a few days after the purchase to let them know the bike we chose wasn't going to work, they were more than gracious. Largely because of their attitude about the return, my daughter and I were determined to buy the replacement bike from them. We ended up choosing a Dahon folding bicycle for just under $100 more than our original purchase, which has turned out to be the perfect choice. Dublin Cyclery gave us full credit for the return and didn't even charge is a re-stocking fee, which is what some other bike shops would have done.
