My parents and I visited to purchase an e-bike using a valid Ava Community Energy rebate code. The model we wanted was out of stock, which is common, but their reaction was not. They refused to order the bike for us in-store. Instead of simply placing the order (like any normal business), they instructed us to go home, send an email, and wait 2-3 business days just to get a response. We were treated as if our business was a burden. The staff implied this was a necessary protocol for the rebate. This is demonstrably false. We immediately drove to another local authorized dealer who also didn't have the bike in stock, but they were able to: 1. Place the order for the sold-out bike immediately in-store. 2. Redeem the rebate code on the spot. 3. Treat us with the attention a paying customer deserves. This shop created unnecessary barriers to using the rebate program, while their competitors made it seamless. The experience felt less like a standard policy and more like a reluctance to support rebate-eligible participants, especially seniors and lower-income customers who are most impacted by email-only barriers and delays. Save yourself the time and the headache. Take your business to a shop that actually wants it. read more

May 10, 2026 I wanted to let you know that I was interested in buying a new bike and establishing a relationship with a local bike shop here in Pleasanton. I went to your shop in January and had a very lengthy and friendly conversation with one of your mechanics. I explained to him that I had just had a very extensive bike fit and was hoping to buy a bike according to the information in the very detailed fit which took my body geometry into account. He said it should not be a problem and while I was there, I emailed him the report with all the specifications. He said he looked at it and thought the Specialized Roubaix would be a good fit, but it was not currently available in the color I wanted. He said I would be notified as soon as it was available. I didn't hear anything so decided to stop by the shop in March and was told it still wasn't available. I stopped by again (I was never called) on April 16 and was told it was available, and it could be ordered that day. I again reminded him about all the measurements, and he said no problem. I paid in full that day. I also re-sent the measurements. I was notified April 22 that it was ready and made an appt.to pick it up April 23. When I arrived, I found out that it wasn't ready (battery was defective on the shifter) and I would be notified again when the new battery arrived. On April 28 got another text notification that the bike was now ready. I went to pick it up April 29 (after reminding the mechanic that the tires were supposed to be tubeless) and when I got there, the tires were not set up as tubeless. I tried to get on the bike, but it was very uncomfortable and not at all adjusted to the measurements I had provided more than once. Also, I had asked for SPD pedals in purple but was told that they didn't exist. (The pedals on the bike did not work with my shoes). When I asked if the specific measurements were considered, I was informed first by the original mechanic and then by a second one, that they are not bike fitters and essentially, they are just mechanics and couldn't really help me. When I had made the appt to pick up the bike, I was told someone named Dean would be putting the bike together as he has an expertise in fitting. When I asked if this had happened, they both looked at me as if I was asking for a special favor. They said no, Dean (or whatever his name is) did it not put it together as they had not made that arrangement. The situation was starting to take on an adversarial vibe and it became clear to me that the previous discussions I had about the measurements were completely ignored. They both then accused me of asking for something that didn't exists and that no bike store would be able to provide what I wanted. They offered to let me return the bike, but I would have to pay for the labor it took to assemble. I left feeling very frustrated but still wanted to try and make it work. On the way home I stopped at Mike's Bikes, and they had the exact pedals wanted. I bought them there thinking I would go back to Superfly and drop them off so they could be installed. But the more I thought about it; I realized that I did not want to have this adversarial relationship and called the shop to take them up on the offer of returning the bike. It cost my over $350 but I realized it was worth it. I should have seen the red flags, the first being there were hardly any road bikes in your shop. I wish that when I first went in, the mechanic had been honest with me and said that they are basically a mountain and electric bike shop and could not provide the skill needed to set me up with a bike that would be comfortable for me. I am sure both of these men are good mechanics, but their customer service and honesty is lacking. I feel like dodged a bullet (albeit an expensive one) but it was worth it to me to not have to deal with unpleasant and dishonest people. I always come here for bike stuff, this time I asked for help to get some fenders onto my bike, and to get new pedals. Eric explained the different pedals I could get, helped me narrow down which one I want, and installed them free of charge. For the fenders, he noted down the size of my wheels and attachment points. I came here to buy an inner tube for my daughter's bike that had a flat. I brought in the tire to show them, but knew they didn't have time to fix the flat for me (I didn't have an appointment; I just dropped in). The employee (I forgot her name, but she was THE nicest person!) felt bad that I needed to change the tire myself, after she heard that I had no clue how to do it, so she not only changed the tire for me right there and then, but she also did it in front of me so she could teach me how to do it! I am so appreciative for the stellar customer service! My daughter was able to ride her bike the same day, and I now know how to change a tire in the future. I brought in my wife's bike to get fixed and wasted my time at this place. They gave me the impression that warranty work could be performed so I left my bike there. When I call to check in on what the manufacturer said about the warranty process, I am transferred to the manager that explains to me (as matter of fact) that pedals are not covered by warranty work. Ok, so I should of been told that before dropping off my bike, especially since it's so "matter of fact". I didn't yell or get upset on the phone and I was always pleasant with everyone I came in contact with. Well when I get home and look at the receipt, I see an internal note stating (I'm the) "Douche of the Century". Really?. I guess I should of got upset and chewed you guys out for wasting my time. 5 Stars all the way! I've been in the market for a new road bike for about month. Since then, I have been riding my 20 year old Trek 7700 which I liked but I knew it was time to move on. I decided to ride all the way from the ease side of Livermore (by the lab) to Superfly Wheels. I was greeted by two gentleman, one being the owner, and both took turns assisting me. They brought 3 bikes outside for me to review, and I really liked the Giant Contend AR 3 as an entry level road bike. They also took out 2 24" girls bikes as I was looking to upgrade my daughter's bike. Unfortunately my daughter had her mind made up on a bike that this shop did not have. All good. Super Flywheels has a trade in program, and I feel I received a fair price for my bike. I only spent about an hour at the shop which is great considering there were several other customers needing help there. I have to say, I had a real bad experience at the Trek shop in Livermore. I brought my family there last week and we were ready to buy two bikes; but we were turned away and told to book an appointment online. Guess what? Sales appointments were ONE WEEK OUT. So today I bought from Super Flywheels, then another purchase at My Buddy's Bikes on the way home. Message to all bike shops who do "appointments only": you are NOT practicing safety any better than shops who take walk ins. This is a choice based on competency and how you feel you can handle your business. Traffic might be great right now because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but when business slows and you start feeling the effects, you're going to wish you hustled to gain extra customers like myself and many, many others. read more

This is a shop that truly care about the customers. Every customer that walks through that door can expect to get the same level of attention. I saw a mom with her 2 little kids and she was asking to have her bikes adjusted (and I don't think these bikes were purchased there- they were the tiny walmart types). There were other customers in the store who were looking to purchase bikes, and the manager asked one of his staff members to help the gentleman looking at the mountain bikes whilst he helped this mom make the adjustments on her kids' bikes. How cool is that. Personally, I have always had a great experience with the work they've done on my bike. I've only been taking my bike here for repairs. they are very communicative and set realistic expectations on timeline and cost. They won't try and upsell on unecessary repairs and/or parts. In fact, the mechanic would always suggest going with the least expensive (but viable) option. Tim is also very cool. He will go around and personally thank the customers for their business.
