Was looking for a BMX bike for myself. Nothing crazy. Just something to cruise around with my kids. Saw the reviews for this place were really good. I couldn't agree more! The two guys who were helping me and answering all my questions were awesome! It was Nathan and Mario (I believe. Curly brown hair.) I never felt rushed, or pressured to buy a bike. They did an exceptional job and turned my 4yo CAAD10 back to a brand new looking bike. It's not one of those check-the-box services out there. They take proud of what they do and definitely go above and beyond. Also, they tried to refurb as many original parts as they could possibly do. Visiting nearby Pleasanton with my wife who is on business. I enjoy checking out local cycling shops, so I fired up Yelp and searched for local bike shops. Dublin Cyclery was close to our hotel so I stopped by. Danny was very helpful, and got me pointed in the right direction of the shop for mountain bike trail maps. Turns out there is a trail about five miles away with a good mix of MTB deliciousness. I looked around the shop and they have a really cool selection of consignment bikes. Be sure to turn right and check out this area when you visit...you might just discover an old childhood friend lurking about. Thank you to the awesome folks at this awesome establishment!! Wohoo today our fourth family member bought her Giant Bike! She decided to upgrade her mountain bike. Noah made the process so smooth from start to finish putting on a custom gel seat, adding on her water bottle order to ringing her up!! The owners and staff are all around good vibes with honest prices! We love the family feel good vibes of this place! We were blessed to be the second people in line when we pulled up! It's best to get there early because by the time we left it was busy!! This place and our bikes brings us so much joy! You can't go in but they will bring you bikes outside to test it. You don't feel rushed and they make sure your bike is sized correctly to your liking/comfort! I overheard one of the workers offer another customer help to load his son's new bike! Ive had to come in on several occasions for parts. I needed brake pads for my disc brakes. They had them with different price options. I needed some replacement spokes. They had those too. My most recent visit was to re-stock my mountain bike and road bike saddle bags with new tubes and a tire lever. Robert also answered my questions about converting to thru-axle. I appreciate the excellent customer service. I realize parts could be had for much less online, but I'm willing to pay for overhead mark-up on stuff to a shop that has exactly what I need right now. They may cost a little bit more on service and parts, but their expertise is worth knowing you are getting professional, experienced assistance. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! I bought here because they were the only shop in the entire Bay Area that had the model I was looking for. I spent over $900 on a bike and was told basic tuneups for bike break in would be covered. Just bring the bike in and they'll do the adjustments anytime . After a few weeks I started having issues and when I called, I was told how to fix it myself. Easy enough but it didn't fix the issue. Turns out all they care about is selling the bikes, not supporting their products. When I finally brought it in, I was told they would call me back later when it was done. When I didn't get a call back and it was nearly closing time, I called I got the run around about everyone being too busy with customers to actually look at my bike and they'll need to keep it for days for something very basic. Apparently customers are only people with cash in hand, not people who already paid. I received more support from a bike shop that I didn't even buy from. In turn, I bought my wife's bike from that shop instead. Now I have to waste money on tools so I can fix the problem myself that is supposed to be covered by warranty. read more

I have an URB-E Pro GT, foldable electric vehicle (FEV) with a rear flat tire. I sourced the tubing myself given the unique size of the tire/tube (10" x 2.50). I had previously brought the FEV to "Mike's Bikes of Pleasanton", where they tried to do the work but were unsuccessful in taking out the tire. They also did something to the brake/brake disc as it was now making a lot of noise which it didn't in the past. And the FEV would not power. So they returned it in worst shape than it was and suggested I see a motorcycle shop and suggested a name. I refused and looked at Yelp and saw Dublin Cyclery. I can't recall who I spoke to (Kyle?) and he explained that while it may be difficult it was doable. I also wished i knew who worked on my bike, he was a pleasure to to talk to when I picked it up. I brought it in at 2:30PM Friday and while they quoted likely next day, they said they would try for same day. I proceeded that I prefer a job well done than rushed but same day would be awesome. 5:30 I received a call and it was ready to go. Both tires were in good shape at the correct PSI. They included some slime and used the old tire as inner lining for the new rear one. While the brake/brake disc was making noise I was able to adjust it when I got home. I forgot to mention it to them otherwise I'm sure they would've fixed it as well. Very helpful and took the time to talk to me and went above and beyond. What I didn't tell Mike's Bike or Dublin Cyclery was that URB-E is looking for "certified" repair shops to partner with in North America, and given my recent experience with them they have been asking for my outcome to determine shops to reach out to. Clearly Dublin Cyclery team not only had the know how & willingness to work on my FEV, they did it with a smile. Clearly have my recommendation on Yelp! and to URB-E corp. Thanks! read more

Dublin Cyclery is a Dublin institution providing service for several decades - and, is my local bike shop (LBS). Walking in (pre-COVID) took me back to when I walked into my local bike shop of my youth. The days before mega bike stores, where you knew the owners. I stared at all the new bikes packed tightly together, peered into the glass case to see what components were there. Ahh the memories! I first came here almost 10 years ago to have Chuck (prior long-time owner) build my dream road bike and provide a custom fitting. I bought some major components online and some in the bike store. They built up my Titanium Lynskey bike and tweaked it so that it fit me like a glove. I loved the personal service and the final build! Chuck has since retired. Robert, a long time employee, is now the proud owner of Dublin Cyclery. I can attest to Robert's professionalism and personal pride in his work and service. After all, he's the one who built my road bike! I came in several times to watch them build my bike. I'm sure I was a pain in the ars, but Robert and Danny happily engaged me and let the 'kid' gleefully watch the bike build unfold. He carefully built my bike up as I would have - if I had time. I have since come back time and time again to purchase my components and supplies. You will not be disappointed. Come out and support your local bike shop. Got a Giant bike here for my kid. Called and told them another shop nearby had it for cheaper and the price was matched. Bike was ready when I went in and they prepped it within minutes. On another occasion I brought a nexus hub in for repair and they were able to get the bike back to me by the end of the day. Service is friendly. Workers are knowledgable. No high pressure sales. Prices are not the cheapest but reasonable. Support your local bike shops. read more

My 12 year old nephew needed a new bike and I decided it was time for a real bike (as opposed to the generic Target/Walmart bikes he had been riding). So we stopped by Dublin Cyclery and no joke, about 15 minutes later we were out the door with a new bike for under $400. I didn't get the name of the sales person helping us, but he was really good about fitting my nephew to the right sized bike, making sure that he could control it properly and going over the intended uses to make sure it was the right type of bike. Really a hassle free, professional experience. They have tons of bikes ready to go and the bike is the best of local bike shop shopping experiences. You may pay a bit more than if you buy online or go to a big chain, but you get a better product, fitted to the rider, at a quality local bike shop. That's what Dublin Cyclery is. The only reason I'm holding off on the fifth star is to see how service pans out over the break in period for the bike. Assuming it's as good as the purchase experience, the fifth star is just a month or so away. read more

I took my bike here to get a basic tune up. They were super busy with everyone getting tune ups during COVID so it took 2 weeks to get my bike back. They did a great job! I know nothing about bikes so even though they had a line, when it was my turn I asked for help adjusting the seat height and to be shown how to take the front wheel off. The man helping me was so informative! He explained how to tell if my seat height is correct and showed me how to take my front wheel off and explained the whole process step by step. He showed me different ways of doing it (flipping the bike upside down is easier) and made sure I could do it on my own before I left. He gave me other tips too like the different psi to keep the tires at for road biking or trail biking. Sooo helpful for a newbie! Awesome staff! read more

I just had a stellar experience and thus am compelled to write about it! I've been going to other stores closer to where I live, mostly for convenience, and they're pretty good. But the last upgrade I did at one of the other guys, it didn't go so smooth. They made a concerted effort, but I wasn't informed of the path they took until they were done, and it wasn't really a path I would have taken and wished they would have suggested some better options/alternatives. Anyways, so I decided to go to Dublin Cyclery for my next upgrade. Adding a 12 speed SRAM X01 cassette / derailleur / shifter to my 2014 Trek Slash. To keep the cost down I was hoping to be able to keep my Shimano from mech (crank, chainring, etc...). They evaluated the situation and got it installed and working buttery smooth. But I like how they go the extra mile, even the small touches. In this case, the mechanic noticed my suspension wasn't really optimal, and wrote down the original settings, and then optimized it. He asked if I liked the way I had it - I said it was ok, but not 100%. So when he showed me what he did, I was really happy. Took the bike to the Soquel Demo Forest Flow Trail today to try it all out, totally hit a number of personal records. Thanks DC! read more

It's stores like this that restores my faith in the cycling scene. I have bought countless parts and one used bike from them,and every purchase left a good impression with me. They are not as surgically clean as Chain Reaction, or LIvermore Cyclery, but they have very knowledgeable people who actually want to help you. If they don't have exactly what you're looking for, they will order it, or give you hints on how to obtain it even if it's not through them. It feels like bike stores that I remember from the 70's. I actually wonder if at one point in the distant past they were a Schwinn store. You get what you pay for, and so much more! Came in with a commuter bike that had loose brakes and a snapped-off derailleur. This was the day before New Year's Eve, so things were pretty packed. But even so, the clerk checked with the owner told me they could squeeze me in, and they'd get to it tomorrow. And that's exactly what they did. Got a call the next day to come pick it up, and it looked and felt like the day I bought it! I was absolutely thrilled.
