EDIT: Owner responded and said that they were upset that I questioned the cleanliness of the studio…read morebecause people were putting weights, mats, and towels back in the cubbies where people would normally go get new ones. I saw multiple people look confused as to where to place things back. I asked if there were wipes so I could wipe down my station and was told that the entire studio was disinfected including every single weight, and all towels were washed. I was doubtful since some of the classes on the class schedule were back to back. So basically they're tone policing me and telling me I looked dissatisfied, and then REPORTED me over that. ****I would personally not recommend going to a studio where they ban people for asking questions and being cautious.**** I went to one class and they banned me for asking for help, which is wild. I came early with my coworker and was excited to work out with her. During the class I moved through all the movements and asked for a modification during a lunge. I also asked for help when I wasn't feeling a stretch at the end of class. The instructor simply said "well I guess you just won't feel it then" and walked away. Other than that, I did not interact with the instructor. 2 days later I received an email saying I was banned because of my "behavior toward the instructor." I think this decision was more about the instructor's ego than anything else. I definitely don't recommend coming here unless you are someone with no fitness background and would rather be in silent pain than ask for help. And don't even bother if you have any sort of problems at all! Knee injury? Back pain? "Guess you just won't feel it then." I also want to share that I had an alternative experience at a local yoga studio where I was tentative about things and despite that, everyone made me feel incredibly welcome and invited me back. Even though it wasn't my cup of tea, I gave it a fair shot and have nothing but great things to say about the studio and team there and reviewed it accordingly. It really doesn't have to end this way, but some businesses are just really feedback-averse and that's disappointing to see.

The studio fit around 10 people for yoga! Mats and towels were provided. This was slow paced and guided, which is why it feels very entry level. Restorative and calming! Thank you Phoenix Bick-Maurischat for the yogaFLOW! This was a great use of my ClassPass.

I took Pure Barre Sunnyvale for the first time over the weekend, and I was amazed. As someone who…read moregoes to the gym every day and does a variety of workouts, I truly underestimated Pure Barre, and wow, I could not have been more wrong. The small studio creates an intimate, personal vibe for each individual while still fostering a strong sense of belonging. The instructor, who is also the owner, Selam, walked around the room and gently adjusted our posture and positioning throughout the class, which made the experience feel very intentional, attentive, and supportive. Pure Barre focuses on targeting the smallest muscle groups, the ones you normally cannot reach or do not even realize exist. You only discover them the next day when everything is sore. I was sweating, my body was shaking while holding some of the positions, and I could feel muscles working that I did not know I had. That is what a great workout does, and that is how you know the hour was truly well spent. What sets Pure Barre Sunnyvale apart from other gyms is its unique, family-like vibe, something you do not find everywhere. From the cleanliness, cozy lighting, and thoughtfully provided equipment to the beautiful souls in the local community, everyone comes together regardless of fitness level to work toward the same goal. With about ten people in each session, you have enough personal space while still feeling a sense of belonging, acceptance, safety, and support. It truly feels like a community that is growing and thriving together, and that is the right environment for people to excel in both their fitness and personal goals. So if you have not tried Pure Barre, want to change up your exercise routine, challenge yourself with new movements, shift your workout vibe, be part of a beautiful and positive community, are just starting your fitness journey and do not know where to begin, or are simply curious and want to discover muscle groups you did not know you had, Pure Barre Sunnyvale is the answer. Give it a try, and you will come back to thank me later.

The exercises are low impact and focus on strengthening muscles and improving flexibility. The positive energy in the studio, the music, and genuine support from the instructors and classmates make each class feel empowering. I leave every class feeling stronger. I've taken classes with almost all of the instructors and they are amazing. They offer corrections (off of the mic - they come up to you personally) for your form to ensure you're getting the most out of your workout and to avoid potential injuries. I work full time and have two small children so I really appreciate that they offer so many class times to choose from. They have an app for easy scheduling, which helps me plan my workouts in advance. The owners are warm, welcoming, and genuinely care about the member experience. They are fostering a real sense of community at this beautiful fitness studio and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

I started my journey almost two years ago (will be come May 2026) and have loved it ever since :) I went from weight lifting every day to now PB all day everyday. I still have vivid imagery of the instructor rudely saying I'm too late and shutting the door in my face. And calling various Googled numbers in the parking lot despite them saying they don't have a record of it. So I'm not sure what they are doing exactly to resolve the situation. UPDATE: They had the audacity to ask me to retract my Yelp review after sharing some random policy they should have shared with me beforehand. pure barre has been a dying institution for years now (which is why I'm guessing there were 18 slots left when I signed up the night before and why they're trying to fill slots). The passive aggressive attitude of the instructor and poor management response really doesn't help that. I don't recommend anyone go here especially when barre3, la barre, and barre method are all right there. Came for a 6:30am class and no one picked up when I tried to ask for directions. Difficult location to find and instructor turned me away. Definitely don't recommend!

I'd called the studio multiple times to try and let them know that I would be late, but no one picked up the phone. I had done everything I could to do my due diligence but could not plan for the closure. Anyone with empathy would have understood. I was a member at the time, had never asked for an extension before in my history with the studio, and had no way of knowing that a political demonstration would shut down their street to foot and car traffic. When I arrived the woman at the front desk did not even care to ask if I was a member nor check to see if I'd ever requested a late arrival before. She just told me "no". It was really frustrating that she basically shrugged her shoulders and said "its policy" to not let anyone in past 5 minutes when it had been exactly 6. I understand the principle, but if it's someone's first time and they are a paid member (not ClassPass ) then they should be given a one time forgiveness. Despite canceling, I was going to give them benefit of the doubt and not leave a yelp review because they assured me they were genuinely sorry for the experience. That all changed today when I saw that I have been charged not once not twice but THREE times since this incident. Despite signing a form on the spot that day and the manager assuring me, this would not happen. I'd been charged full price of the membership 3x when I had never stepped foot in the studio ever since. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to once again I have to go through the endless loop of trying to get a hold of someone at this business. I would never sign up here because you will never be able to know you are truly canceled.
