This towing company is the worst in Virginia , everyone hates being towed but this company will go out of there way to put people in a bad spot. Mind you , we are under quarantine and already are out of jobs let alone having money to pay to get our cars back ? How is this even an essential business? They towed my car out a of visitors spot because my pass was flipped the wrong way , they clearly new that I had a visitors pass but ignored the fact and charge me 175 dollars because they towed me at 1130 pm on purpose to charge an overnight fee! These people are ridiculous and I hope the government realizes that tow trucks are not essential and shut them down. Horrible experience , and I will tell every property manager I know to not go with this company and I know a lot :)! read more

These people are crooks plain and simple. They towed my car from my property. When I got there the tire was flat and worn from riding so long on the flat. These people should not be allowed to have a company. read more

Towed my truck from in front of my house and charged me nearly $300 to get it back. I called and asked if there was anything I could do since it was towed in front of my home and I was told to wait and come in the next morning after 8am to speak with a manager. Well showed up after 8 to be told I could not speak to any manager and they added another hundred dollars for another overnight stay. Very unprofessional. read more

dishonest, they way i saw the driver watching from the road , then he snatched a new vehicle within two minutes while stareing at me . beore that, he towed my vehicle when i had just parked a few feet where a birthday party was going on for my grandson. i had only been there a very short time. another guys car was also towed by them and he asked me if mine had been towed. they towed the vehicle just feet from the comfort suites hotel and they alleged it was improperly parked. i could tell from the drivers m.o.thathe was watching from the rode for an easy prey victum, then he saw a car park in the same area as where mine had been parked, then he snatched it in 1 minute. the manassas dunkin donuts is no where in sight but they dishonestly snatch vehicles when they park in the empty lot. what they are doing should be illegal and it might truly be illegal. going to file with better business bureau and review stateand local laws as class action should be a possibility for this immoral and possible illegal actions by the driver and company. thank you, the lady on the phone was rude also. if they have a conscious, they know what they are doing is wrong and dishonest. i believe they will reap what they are sowing someday. hope they find mercy. emanuel read more

I wish I could give them no stars. I calmly talked to a driver in an attempt to help someone else and he screamed at me and basically implied that I was dumb. When I asked him to please lower his voice and that I was being respectful and would appreciate the same he threw a temper tantrum like a toddler. He then threatened me saying everything is on camera and that he would call the police. I wish they had come and watched the video to see how immature this grown man was acting. Such a shame! I don't care what your job is, you should always be calm and respectful, especially is the other person is respectful. read more

These guys are truly awful. I've had plenty of towing experiences in my life. I've been towed. Ive had friends towed. I've had perfectly reasonable experiences with tow companies. But this company's practices are unethical and unreasonable. A family member recently got towed in her own development, with parking pass hanging from the rear view. She left her school parking pass in the mirror as well, by mistake. When we (politely) went to pick up the car the lady working the desk had pictures ready to show us the school pass clearly "blocking" the parking pass. An "incriminating" photo from one angle that did not display that the pass wasn't hanging there. Why take a photo to begin with if you weren't expecting that very argument? When I told the lady that I could clearly see the pass she of course had her automated and lacking logic response to reply with... "How do you expect him to see it from the front?" There are other windows... In the end, the ethics of towing the car in the middle of the night, knowing the pass was present, is just so questionable. read more

Quality workmanship and good old fashioned honesty! I work nearby, and brought my car to DTR for an elusive problem. I sensed that there was a "wiggle" in the car after hitting a bump over 30 mph. Rather than throw parts at it, it was suggested that I wait for it to get a little worse so that it could be tracked down. I was assured that the front end was tight and that there was no danger, but with a car with over 200K miles on it; if one looked closely enough, he could find worn parts. 10-15,000 miles later it was obvious that I needed new shocks/struts in the front. Pre-loaded struts (which includes shocks, springs and other components) are much more expensive than just shocks, but the time to install them is much shorter than all the work involved in replacing just the shocks. Two hours for pre-loaded struts, VS seven hours for just shocks. Brian made a human mistake and quoted me a price for pre-loaded struts, and seven hours labor. Although I had agreed to the higher price and seven hours of labor, when I picked up the car, my over-all cost was $600 less! He could have kept the car longer and pretended that he worked on it all that time, and I would not have been the wiser. Instead, he was HONEST, and put that $600 back into my pocket! When I first met him, I sensed that they were honest businessmen. I was right. Later when discussing my experience with a couple of police officers in town, they agreed. Oh, by the way, my car now runs like new. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. Truck parked in my spot since before 6pm which is their tow time- without a sticker or visitor pass. If your car is towed due to inappropriate parking, do not read. I needed towing when my car snapped a belt on Highway 66 at 5:15 am. No other tow company was open except for DTR. The tow truck operator came in 15 minutes towed my car to a repair shop, very fast, efficient and professional. Reviews I read here are not fair because, they are resulted by wrong parking and frustration. DTR works for Police, HOA and Land lords and is called to different assighments. They should not be reviewed due to frustration. read more

Loaned my vehicle to someone from out of state and they parked it at the hotel they was staying at and DTR decided to tow it and when I called in the morning to see how to get my vehicle back I was strictly informed I would need MY photo ID and I had to come and get it. However as I was pulling up my vehicle was already pulling away from DTR's lot and the guy said...oh it's already been paid for and picked up. A $35K vehicle was released for $160 to an out of state person and the guy got really nasty with me when I told him that he specifically said I had to be the one to pick it up and to show ID. Shady company and very unprofessional. They like to cuss people out when they're in fact the ones in the wrong. read more

My 2nd car was towed today and when I called DTR Towing for the reason, they stated that "it doesn't matter if a car with a visitor's permit move from one visitor's space to another to avoid parked in same visitor's space over 24-48hrs, DTR would still tow the car. This is definitely not the Burke Community for Brandy Court's policy. Im sure there are many residents like myself that has more than one or two cars and has no choice but to park in visitor's parking. I do move the car from one visitor's space to another daily to comply with Brandy Court Burke Community's policy but it seems like this DTR towing is doing illegally towing and making up lies just to tow and make money. This is ridiculous as being a residence of the community, why are we even paying these scumbags money and letting them rip-off our residence???? Please help me to raise voice and kickout DTR towing from our Brandy Court Burke Community. read more

If i could give them a 0 i would, the guy that helped me was rude reeked of cigarettes and if even lit one while I was there. My car was towed fromy home for exp registration and inspection. My vehicle was towed from a town home community by this "parking management" company within FIVE MINUTES of my parking my vehicle. I am a real estate agent who was there to meet with my client's home inspector to simply "lay eyes" on a repair for a settlement later on that afternoon. I walked inside with the inspector. We looked at the repair. I walked back outside and my vehicle was gone...literally GONE! A local resident, seeing my complete fear and distress over my missing vehicle, pointed to the adjoining cul-de-sac where I witnessed it being towed out to the main subdivision road. I ran and stopped the tow truck. The driver was obnoxious, arrogant and rude. He very obviously enjoyed the "control" he felt over me. He said I should have had a permit hanging in my window. I told him I DID have the permit on the front seat to which he replied again; if it wasn't in the window, it gets towed. I explained I was there on behalf of my client and had been given the permit so I could park in his space and again, the driver could care less. He informed me that he couldn't put my vehicle down unless I gave him $135 cash right there on the street. When I told him that I didn't have that amount of cash on me, he went on to tell me that I'd have to pick it up at their Mananas impound yard and, wait for it..........pay $160 instead! The driver drove off and left me to find a ride to get to their Manassas garage. As I thought about the timeline on my way over to the impound yard, it became glaringly obvious to me that I was STALKED from the moment I drove into the neighborhood's parking lot and parked my vehicle. The tow truck driver would have had to been watching me get out of my vehicle and go into the residence and then IMMEDIATELY jacked my vehicle up - FROM THE REAR - and pull it across to the neighboring cul-de-sac out of sight where he could drop it down and then jack it up from the front so he could tow it down the road. The reason I know I was STALKED AND TARGETED is because of all the steps the driver had to do within the 5-8 minutes that I was in the town home. If I were the management company of this neighborhood - or ANY neighborhood - I would never retain the services of such an egregious towing management company. What they did to me was no better than if they had robbed me at gunpoint - the experience was no different. Their practice of STALKING and STEALING your vehicle for an OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH ransom is nothing more than robbery under the disguise of a "parking management" company. Shame on them. If I hadn't needed to be at my client's settlement within the hour, I would have called the police....yes, it was THAT bad. Horrible company. Outrageously usurious rates and devious tactics. I wish I could give them a ZERO rating. One final thought....I am concerned with how they yanked my vehicle out from the back and dragged it across the parking lot into the adjacent cul-de-sac. I am praying it didn't damage my front end. I am going to have it checked out at the local tire place and if there is any damage, I'll be perusing it in any way that I can. read more

DTR Towing is a wonderful towing company. The bad thing about the company is the management. Had my car towed, and while not happy about it, the lady at the window was very nice and helpful, had no problems getting my car back, it wasn't free, but stuff happens. My parking permit was revoked, so got to get that taken care of, however not towing company's fault. I saw lots of complaints about taking pictures of people's cars, I asked about that, again the lady was very helpful, said they do that to keep a record of the condition car was in and to make sure if there are any previous scratches on the car so they have "proof" they did not scratch the car while towing it. I think that is a smart idea, saves them from possible lawsuits. read more

How do you do 0 stars? Let me tell you about these pieces of sh*t.........I put my car in a visitors spot due to family coming to stay with me because of a death in the family. You need to have a pass in your car with the date on it.Cool,no problem.First night no problem......never moved my car, didn't need to.Put in a new pass the next day,old pass left in cup holder locked and left. After the second night I went to move my car, lookie lookie its gone.I called and asked why the hell they towed my car. They said no permit.I told them I had the pass and they said I didn't. I said how the hell you going to sit here and lie.You just going to take a disabled veterans car illegally. He replied "fuck veterans"big deal you didn't have a pass.I immediately called my landlord yelling and asking if the pass was the same thing as a permit. She verified it was.I go pick up my car later that night,I notice the pass on the rearview mirror was gone, and the one from the previous night was gone, and my parking brake was off(which I always have on.....habit)I go in and ask why were you in my car.He said we weren't, it was towed in on a dolly cause this and that. Then I said so why the F**k is my parking brake off ,when I always have it on if you swore your company never ever went in it.He kinda looked at me for a second dumb founded and was like "oh we can go in it if we want" I noticed on the ticket they towed my car at 2:05 am in the morning. You need the pass for the hours of 2 to 6 am. That dipsh*t waited at my car till 2 cause he saw it the night before and just towed it without looking at the pass date and I bet he didn't even notice the passes til they got it back to the garage.Scum bags.I demanded to talk to the tow truck drivers cause frankly someone he's to set this stupid a$$ straight.Obviously he wasn't there or so they say. They said he works days, when my car was towed at night.....hmmmm......weird. Magically my new car that I hardly ever drive, has a dent and scratches all down the side.......and I don't mean like a scuff scratch.I mean back door to the front and made loops,no accident. Wasnt there before. So if it happened at the garage and i just didn't see it cause it was dark and that side was against the wall,or dipsh*t came back through my neighborhood looking for trouble. You just found it,Ill be keeping my eye out for them. I will definitely be talking to my HOAs about changing who they have towing for them and I urge everyone else to do the same.I feel bad speaking about the company but if you allowed an employee to behave in such manner and allow what I consider criminal action, you're just as guilty. They tow cars not to improve parking conditions for communities but to fill their pockets as quickly as possible. My fiance's car was towed because I made a mistake filling out his parking pass. DTR did not care that it was unintentionally. They just understood money. read more

This is the shittiest tow company I have ever dealt with. My car was towed in my neighborhood because I parked in the wrong area. They towed my car at 7:56 on a Friday morning and I picked it up at 8:51 AM and was charged $160. The lady at the desk was rude and told me I needed to learn how to park. I called to question why I was charged an extra $35 fee when it wasn't a holiday, weekend, etc and that it was towed AFTER 7am and the guy that answered the phone was rude and didn't seem to understand that it was towed at 7:56 therefore I shouldn't be charged the extra rate then he proceeded to tell me by VA code they can tow until 8am and charge that fee --then rudely hung up on me. They do not have that posted anywhere in their shop. The customer service here is awful and to charge so much for a car to even hardly be there for an hour is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Only doing one star because I have too. These people are frauds, stealing from innocent people. Our neighborhood is getting our roads paved, and no one knew the exact date each street was going to get paved so multiple people got towed. I'm sure our HOA is getting some sort of money from this ridiculous deal they made with this FRAUDULENT company. My car got towed. Fast forward two days later, my sister parks for ONE HOUR in a street next to ours with multiple cars parked. When I picked my car back up, they said the paving starts at 7 so next time make sure the car is gone by then. My sister parked at 12 PM for 1 hour. We go outside to get the car, and it's gone. Ridiculous. We go to DTR and see that they haven't even put her car in the garage yet. We tell the guy hey don't tow that car we're right here we are going to pay. But no! Of course he just has to put it in the garage! For what reason? What kind of a job is this? What kind of people would do that... extra work just to piss people off? Weirdos. Simply. I heard that they literally carry around yellow tape in their tow trucks, tape it to the curb, take a picture of the car on the curb with the fake yellow tape on it and proceed to tow it. You are all simply criminals. And if anyone supports this towing company just know you are supporting criminals. read more

My car was towed because the year was not marked. the parking pass was new and the years on there were 2014,2015,2016 and 2017 clearly if the date is 4-28 would the ignorant driver not know it is 2017 when none of the other dates had NOT BEEN USED? I called and spoke to a nice lady but she could not anything said need to speak to a manager . I called back to see why it was towed for bc I could not remember and spoke with James well James was rude, inconsiderate, no compassion even when I tried to explain and try and ask if there was anything they could do for my sister. I could not get let my nephew was shot and killed when this heartless bastard cut me off and said that's not going to help you. I've just had my first experience with this company. My advice is, stay as far away from them as possible. If I could give them less than 1 star, I certainly would. I failed to have my parking tag in the mirror but was carrying things out to the car when I noticed someone taking photos of MY car. I then noticed a tow truck parked in the street. I quickly ran up to the driver and produced my parking permit BEFORE he had his jacks under the car. I explained to him that I was parked there short term, but showed him the permit. He mumbled something about paying $135 right away or he's leaving with the car. I told him I'll gladly give him all the cash in my wallet ($70 worth) and mumbled something about picking it up in manassas. He had no business cards, so scribbled an address on a paper that I had to ask him to interpret. The handwriting was horrible! So now I'm currently waiting for a ride to "follow" the tow truck to their lot. Craziness!! I feel like I've been stolen from! The fact that I caught him BEFORE he had it loaded is what frustrates me the most out of this experience! By far the worst communication, customer experience, and manners I've ever seen in my life! read more

Honestly would rather give them zero stars. I just had my company van towed. Came to Manassas to visit my sister who just got back home from the military. She was able to obtain a visitor parking pass for me and I parked in a spot that clearly stated on the ground in white letters "visitor". To my surprise of come out to grab my laptop from the van and oh my the van is gone. Call them and it turns out since I have the company logo on my van I need to park in a spot that says "commercial". So of course I give them sh*t and they tell me the commercial parking is all the way in the back of the complex. Hmmm silly me I forgot I should be driving around all night looking for a commercial spot. Goes to show you the actual DECENCY this company has. Yes I did have my pass displayed, yes I was in a visitor spot, no I was not parked crooked/over the line/ etc. Straight up crooks!!!
