I've rented a few cars from DS Luxury and they are the best around. They provide pick up or drop off services and selection of vehicles is always A1! The process is super easy and quick and their staff is friendly and very professional - if your looking for a luxury car rental firm I would highly suggest them.

11/5 car was returned. 11/26 today and still no refund of refundable security deposit. Lots of run around. No prioritization by anyone.

The car was luxurious, had plenty of room for our luggage and a third row of seats. It was easy & comfortable to drive.

Altogether a positive experience. The person running the show here was good at their job, and above…read moreall else, expedient. I appreciated that as I had my family in tow and didn't want to take the morning just to get our car. He took us down to the weird basement parking garage because we had reserved car seats and let us pick the appropriate ones for their ages. Side note, I had tried to call in advance to confirm this but kept getting the national line and they had no real info. For parents reading this, they keep a heap of them and you can specify when you get there, provided you had a general car seat reserved. We got the rear-facing for our 3 year old, and a booster with a back for our 7 year old. Our car (Nissan Altima) was kind of a piece of junk. I'm glad I took video because before we even set foot in it, there were some burns, some fender benders all around, and generally just not in the best shape. Kinda overthinking itself on technology too, with the cruise control and other features not being super intuitive, and CarPlay not working for us throughout our time with it. Anywho, got out of these just fine and dropped it up in Grand Rapids Airport and it got us where we needed to go. Nice to have options in downtown Chicago and this worked out well. Last thing, I booked on Costco Travel which seemed to consistently provide the best overall price and packaging for rental cars in my experience.

Out of all the car rental services I have used, I like Getaround the best for short trips (less…read morethan 1 day). I've used Turo, traditional car rental companies (Hertz, Enterprise, etc.), and Zipcar. I think Truo and traditional rental companies are built more for longer term rentals and Zipcar is the most comparable. The hourly rates for Getaround are fairly reasonable, much better than Zipcar, plus Getaround doesn't charge a monthly fee. However, there is a reason why Zipcar is so expensive: the cars are owned and maintained by the company instead of ordinary people. With Getaround, you're renting out other people's cars and so the company doesn't have full control over the vehicle. It is possible that you may book a car that looks pretty good in the listing but when you get it, it's kind of dirty or not what you expected because the owner doesn't clean/maintain it. That is not necessarily Getaround's fault. For me, I've accepted that this may happen (and it has before), but for the money I save by not using Zipcar, it's fine by me. I have used Getaround so much that I know which cars in my area are clean and well-maintained and I tend to stick to those. If you're not willing to take the risk that a car might not be in perfect condition, then I'd say you should be willing to pay a premium for that. I've had maybe 2 interactions with customer service and both have been very good. I once got automatically charged a lot for gas because the car is parked on a slope and that affected the fuel level recorded after I dropped the car back. I only drove 5 miles in a 22mpg car, but the fuel level recordings made it seem like I used nearly 10% of the gas. I got my money back after explaining to CS via email. Another time I dropped off the car and then when I got to my apartment 2 blocks away I realized I left something in the car. I was able to call a customer service rep via the app and they waited on the phone as I walked back to the car and helped me unlock the car to get the item and lock it back up. Based on all of my Getaround experiences so far I'd definitely recommend it if you're a fairly flexible person with realistic expectations.

INSTEAD their customer service (which is really non-existent) tells you--you need to rent the same car again for an hour--in the hopes your item may still be there..., SERIOUSLY. What BS. NEVER AGAIN.

It appears that customers either have extremely good or extremely bad experiences with SIXT rentals…read morebut fortunately, we experienced the former. It was our first time renting from SIXT as it was a service that was included in our Capital One Venture X program and we had a great experience withthem from the beginning to end. We rented a car for our little getaway in Chicago and everything was a breeze. Reservations were made online, we picked up our car as soon as we arrived in the city and paid a little extra for an upgrade to 2024 BMW X2. Very luxurious, spacious, clean and easy to drive. It made our vacation that much more enjoyable. Customer service was fast and friendly and returning the rental was very easy. You just enter the code you're given at pick up, park the car and return the key to a rep or drop it off in the drop box if it's after hours. We will definitely be renting from SIXT again in the future!

It was $300 however I had already paid so I couldnt get my money back even if I wanted to. The reason, I booked from a local agency instead of the airport was it was cheaper which wasn't the case. 3 my reservation was originally at 1 PM to pick up the car. I didn't even get in the car and drive off until well after 2 o'clock. The car was not ready and I had to wait. 3 The service lights comes on in the car. I received an email that stated I could trade the car at another location to get out of that car. There was no branches near me so when I tried to return it at a location I was finally near, I was told there was an extra $113 fee for returning at a different location. 4 I get an email the next day stating that I didn't return the car when I actually returned it 8 hours earlier than scheduled because I had just had enough! Now they are saying to wait 48 hours for them to log it in the system. I don't want them to retest the vehicle when they stated I don't return it and try to keep my deposit! It was a horrible experience for my first time ever renting from them. The staff at the actual branch location were helpful though
