    I had a wonderful experience! It was easy to book using the app. I booked a standard Toyata Corolla sedan. When I came in, I was upgraded to a BMW 5 Series 530i xDrive for free because it was my first time with Sixt. The BMW was clean, had a full tank, and was a great drive. All the staff were helpful and professional. Tasha was wonderful and had a pleasant demeanor. Heads up that you need to return the car with a full tank out of pocket. The BMW requires premium gas, which is a bit more expensive.

    Overall, Sixt is a good car rental company. The vehicles are very nice, but Beware the "Choice Upgrade" fee and vehicles without the EZ PASS toll pass. CHOICE UPGRADE FEE: We've rented two vehicles from them and each time, when we arrived, our reserved vehicle wasn't available or needed to be cleaned. The first time was a one day rental and the "Choice Upgrade" was an additional $85 - to go from a BMW X1 to a BMW X5. The second time we rented, when we arrived, the BMW X1 we reserved needed to be cleaned, and we were offered either our reserved BMW X1 or to be upgraded to the BMW X3 - we opted for a upgrade. The sales associate explained the additional charges it to us, but we didn't really understand, we were in a rush, so we were like - yeah, okay - then I'm looking at the invoice saw a "Choice Upgrade" charge for $500 for a 4 day rental. PRO-TIP going forward we're going to reserve the top of the line vehicle up front - figuring it'll save us the "Choice Upgrade" fee, when our reserved vehicle either isn't cleaned or isn't available. EZ PASS toll pass The first vehicle we rented, we opted for the "EZ PASS toll pass" for $13/day - no issues. The second vehicle, we did the same, but it didn't actually have an EZ PASS toll pass in the vehicle, so for the Skyway, and the Indiana Toll Road, we had to pay out of pocket. I called Sixt and they told us to just keep the receipts and settle up when we returned the vehicle. We didn't get receipts, and that's just a hassle, so we took the toll charge off the vehicle and we're paying out of pocket for the whole trip. We have an EZ PASS toll pass for our city car, which we could have used, but Sixt told us that it takes something like 24 hours for the toll app to switch the license plates over for the tolls? I don't know, but I do know that for future rentals, I'm insisting on there being a proper EZ PASS toll pass installed in the vehicle before we drive off the lot. While there have definitely been some hiccups, we like the BMWs - much more comfortable for a long distance trip than our little city car. The location of the rental place is ideal for us, and the front desk staff are really very nice - just know that they talk very fast, and if you're like us and in a hurry and kind of over a barrel, coordinating a rental car and family schedules, if you're not careful, you could be in for an expensive surprise on your invoice.

    Pick up and drop off was super easy! Final charge was what we expected. Car was super clean. Will rent from here through Lyft again.

Kyle helped me out that day and was completely professional and friendly and apologized several times for the wait. When I returned the car the following day, it was pretty busy again but Nneka was able to get my car returned right away and able to drop me off at the shop to pick up my car. Very sweet, professional, and went above and beyond with the great customer service! I understand people get frustrated and annoyed waiting around at any establishment, but when you see the staff working hard, staying professional and dealing with the bad attitudes you have to appreciate it when they still remain positive and friendly. Some things are out of their control and corporate may need to handle reservations and low stock of vehicles better in the future.

When I went back to get a car they still didn't have anything available for me that was fully covered by insurance and equivalent to the car I drive. I didn't understand the point of making an appointment if I was going to be waiting all day. I didn't get into a car until 1pm.

He took us down to the weird basement parking garage because we had reserved car seats and let us pick the appropriate ones for their ages. Side note, I had tried to call in advance to confirm this but kept getting the national line and they had no real info. For parents reading this, they keep a heap of them and you can specify when you get there, provided you had a general car seat reserved. We got the rear-facing for our 3 year old, and a booster with a back for our 7 year old. Our car (Nissan Altima) was kind of a piece of junk. I'm glad I took video because before we even set foot in it, there were some burns, some fender benders all around, and generally just not in the best shape. Kinda overthinking itself on technology too, with the cruise control and other features not being super intuitive, and CarPlay not working for us throughout our time with it. Anywho, got out of these just fine and dropped it up in Grand Rapids Airport and it got us where we needed to go. Nice to have options in downtown Chicago and this worked out well. Last thing, I booked on Costco Travel which seemed to consistently provide the best overall price and packaging for rental cars in my experience.

Itzel was incredibly friendly and helpful when I popped into the location to have a few questions answered a few days before pickup. King also helped answer a few questions and was incredibly friendly and helpful when I popped back in again a few hours before pick up. Sara helped me into the car and was incredibly professional, helpful, friendly and informative. I also met Mo, when I picked the car up and he was very friendly as well. I had a fantastic trip and no issues with the car. Sara recommended the prepaid gas option and it was so convenient and helpful. I am familiar with the option but did not realize how much of a game changer it would be coming back into Chicago tired on Monday night and just wanting to return the car! Overall, I can only say incredible things about the SIXT team at the Riverwalk Hyatt. 5 stars all around. If it were possibly to give even more stars I would give them more stars.

I paid 71.10 for the booking. I called customer service to find out when i would get the refund. They advised they do not see a refund. I have spoke to customer service multiple times and a supervisor- they will not assist and say they cannot confirm that I will get a refund.
