Maybe it was when I peered into the area behind the counter where the alterations and mending of…read moregarments takes place, as it took me to places in the heart. As I chatted with the friendly owner at the counter, when seeing the sewing machine and colorful rows of threads, I couldn't help but think of my late Mother, as she too was a seamstress. I have her old Kenmore sewing machine among the treasured ancestral artifacts in my sacred space at home. I had been wanting to make a change in where to take my dry cleaning, and reading the positive reviews on Yelp for Dry Clean City, although they're further from my home than at least ten other dry cleaners, I decided to make the trek to give them a try. I felt a kindred spirit as soon as I walked in the door. This is not your usual chain operation here, this is a husband and wife team who've put their personal touch into their business for the last 21 years. As I'm on the verge of taking a long anticipated trip to Portugal and Morocco, I took 12 shirts, three pairs of pants, and one sport coat for dry cleaning, with one shirt also needing mending, after the edge of the lint filter in our dryer grabbed the hem of that garment, and wrapping the shirt into a tight ball, it also tore a hole at the seam. First, the wife at this cleaners did a masterful job of saving that shirt for me, it's as good as new, and for a very reasonable price no less. As for the dry cleaning, I'm sold, everything came out perfectly. I'll be looking dapper for my upcoming trip. But most of all, the reason I know I've found a new place to entrust the care of my highly valued garments with, is this husband and wife team, who put love into the work of their hands. As icing on the cake, their friendliness draws you in upon entering the door for the first time. You just know, these are great souls, they're caring people, and this is a clean operation, a business whose workmanship will help to build our self esteem, as we wear the stylish clothes they've renewed for us time and again. I went for the dry cleaning, but I'll be returning for the friendship, and for their personal touch, in helping their customers feel good about ourselves. If you're also reading reviews to find a new place for your clothes to be cared for, look no further, this is your place. It's an enthusiastic 5-Star review from me. Sincerely, Keith Brown Garland

My $100 Polo pants were ruined by YOUR business, and instead of taking responsibility, she told me I'd get no refund for the dry cleaning and no reimbursement for the damage YOU caused. Yuri is a straight-up POS. No accountability, no professionalism, no shame. Her brilliant solution? A "$2 string replacement." On $100 pants. Then she had the nerve to say I couldn't keep my ruined pants and be reimbursed -- like I should be grateful for scraps. That's not customer service, that's bullshit. The worst part? She laughed at me. Laughed. In a customer's face. That tells you exactly the kind of garbage human being she is and the kind of trash operation this business runs. I have never felt so blatantly disrespected by someone in a management position. If this is the standard you allow, then the rot starts at the top. I will be coming back every single day until I'm made whole. And yes -- even the women working in the nail salon next door said this whole situation was complete bullshit and couldn't believe how I was treated. This business is trash. Management is trash. And I will make sure everyone knows exactly how you treat your customers.

I told the person that took in my laundry that I wanted all of the shirts laundered except for the 1. I picked up my cleaning today and EVERYTHING was dry cleaned. When I told the gentleman that I specifically requested that the shirts be laundered, he gave me the excuse that the manager said the shirts, even if they were mostly cotton, but had any other fabric, that they must be dry cleaned. This is total BS. I have washed and ironed these shirts many times with no issues. The only reason that they got 2 stars instead on one is that they were at least clean and they didn't lose anything. Let me tell you something, A LOT of the time, business owners/managers see reviews and NEVER respond to them. This reach out speaks VOLUMES to the integrity of this business. That means alot to me! The next time I need an alteration, I WILL give Red Carpet Tailor ago! I walked into Red Carpet Tailor on Douglas Monday morning needing a simple side slit extension. The lady behind the counter was very nice. However, I am very shocked at the price tag for this alteration. Literally, extending an already existing slit in a Chef coat by 3" on each side should not cost $50.16! I could understand if I was needing same day service, but I asked to pick it up in 4 days. To add insult to injury, the coat wasn't even steamed for the price paid. Disappointed
