Repeatedly had to have items cleaned for a second time because the dirt was not cleaned throughly.

Everyone has a pair of favorite jeans... And I happen to have one, a white one! The only pair I own. I had took it to a dry clean shop off Wilcrest who messed up on them TWICE. I refuse to bring it back a third time. The first time there were black "skid marks" and they got it off, and the second time there were navy/blackish stains. Instead of giving up, I took it to Dry Clean Planet. They're in the same plaza as my work. They didn't make promises to repair it but when I picked it up today, they got all those "mysterious" stains off. Then I noticed that there were still some by the leather tag in the back of the pants. One of the workers told me that it's because of the brand leather tag. The dyes drip onto the pants. Finally mystery solved!! They offered to remove the tag and re-clean it for no charge! What an awesome customer service experience! I will start taking my clothes here for cleaning and alterations. read more

I've had problems with them in the past, but today was my last day. I work from home but travel on business, so my need for cleaning is sporadic. On a previous trip I needed a button sewn back onto some dress pants for a convention. I picked up the clothes, packed them in my bag and flew off to work. Surprise when I pull the pants out and the button is still pinned to the pants with a yellow tag! So I recycled another pair. Flash forward to today. I take in a load of clothes and tell them they had forgotten the button, and how it inconvenienced me on my trip. Instead of apologizing and fixing it while I wait, he looks in the computer and tells me it had been 3 weeks since that order and I would have to pay again to have the button sewn on. I was aghast, dumbfounded and pissed. Their tag was still on the pants. Did he think I stapled that on to get a free button sewn on? I asked for my clothes back and told him to remove my information from his computer. I told him I'd done business there since they opened and for $3 they would loose a customer? I then asked him if he had ever heard of Yelp? I told him to look at it later today. I'm also going to repeat this story to as many neighbors and friends. Cheap and lousy service businesses need to be pointed out. Just across The street is Memorial Martinizing. I've been going here for 8 years and have no complaints about the service. My problem is the way they treat their employees. We have 100 f degree weather in Houston but they still refuse to turn on the AC and instead force their staff to work in the heat. Imagine how hot it must be in there. I always ask if their AC is broken, their employee just looks at me with a look of pain and dehydration, her skin shines of all the sweat and politely says no. "They haven't turned on the AC yet" at 2 in the freaking afternoon?!! It breaks my heart to see people working under those conditions. Every summer it's the same! I'm not going back! A co-worker recommended this place to me, mostly because it's within a mile or two of the office. I dropped off a few dresses at 2 pm and got a call at noon the next day to let me know that my clothes were ready. Fast turnaround! Plus, the drop-off had been quick and the prices were low. They didn't lose my clothes or anything, but someone had painstakingly steamed all the ruching out of a rayon dress, while another dress had developed a severe case of lint balls (the fabric seemed to have been washed instead of dry cleaned, but it's hard to say for sure). There were scorch marks on the satin details. So I won't take any of my finer things here, but they do offer friendly, cheap, quick service, and all of the usual dry cleaning (shirts, mostly) that left here while I was dropping my clothes off looked fresh and crisp. I have been going here for about 5 years now to get everything dry cleaned. When I lived in Austin I would wait to get everything done at the same time when I made a trip to Houston because Austin's dry cleaners have horrible service all around and are way more expensive than this place. The outside of their spot says "in by 9 out by 5" and its never failed. Always greeted with a smile from the Mr. Miagi of the dry cleaning business. Whenever I lose a button on a dress shirt they always replace them for free. Not sure if thats normal practice for all dry clean places, but these guys are awesome. Ive had pants resized back in my awkwardly shaped years of adolescence and they were always fixed up real nice and I even looked cool for school. Some would even say "too cool for school". My search is over! Long have I looked to find a good dry cleaner in Houston that was well-priced with quality service. I've been everywhere...going to shops that have been around the various places I've lived in Houston...Westchase, Greenway Plaza, River Oaks, etc. Never was I satisfied! I almost gave up to give into the $3-4 per item some places were charging, until I heard about Dry Clean Planet from a co-worker! I went there earlier this week with about 7 pants, 2 skirts, 1 dress, a few dress shirts. Came out less than $25! Their base price on most dry clean items is $1.69. I used to work for a dry cleaner and that's more of the price I'd expect. The issue for most places is if they're cheap, quality surfers. But this place, I was very happy with it! It may be a little out of my way, but will claim this as my go-to cleaners now. I might be giving it 5-stars later, but since I've only been there one time, we'll see if they continue the great service. ;) read more

I recently purchased a couple of blazers from a consignment store that were in good condition but just needed a little cleaning. I actually chose to use this place based on Yelp reviews. I can report that I am very satisfied customer. I was able to get both jackets thoroughly cleaned and pressed for about $5 and they did an AMAZING job for having such a low price. The service was great and the staff was really friendly. They will be getting much more of my business. read more

I was moving last weekend and all my things were in boxes - including my dress shirts because I knew I had some shirts here to pick up. I had a dinner at a nice place that evening and I thought I'd be able to pick them up and wear one. Well, I'd forgotten that I'd picked everything up so I had no shirts to wear. Twice in two months I've picked up clothes with blemishes. I always inspect my clothes upon receipt because most businesses announce they are not responsible for items after they leave the premises. The first time was baffling yet gave them the benefit of the doubt, after that I started inspecting clothes before delivery and not two weeks passed before the next occurrence. In both cases management just makes up excuses and offers no apologies. Btw, the sweatshop conditions other reviewers are far off target. I'd give them zero stars if it were an option but for now I've simple taken my business elsewhere. read more

THEY RUINED MY CLOTHES!!!!!!!!! I took in a few white dresses....and they ruined them. The dresses are in no way wearable ever again. The dresses were all very similar in style- a slip type bottom with a lace pattern over it. EVERY SINGLE DRESS came back with a shorter slip, and a wayyyy shorter lace. The dresses look ridiculous! Absolutely the worst experience with a cleaners. I've found 1.99 cleaners that have treated my clothes and valued my patronage more. The put safety pins in high priced items- totally damaging two of my skirts. The older male owner was very condescending and rude when I asked him not to use pens on a pair of $200 shorts. I had been using this location for about 6 months. But the last time was the last! I brought a bunch of shirts (~18) to be cleaned. When I picked them up, one was damaged with a tear in the back. I was told that it was found when the shirts were checked in that morning before it was cleaned. The shirt had obviously been washed but not pressed, and it was brand new -- I had removed it from the original packing while in the parking lot to drop it off. If I could 0 stars I would! I am an extremely dissatisfied customer and would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I brought a bridesmaids dress for alterations in March. They said the dress would be ready in a week. Came back in two weeks the dress had a stain! The dress alterations were a disaster. Not even straight lines and a HUGE BLACK STAIN ON The FRONT OF THE DRESS. This dress was ordered from David's Bridal purchased brand new. We went from David's Bridal to Memorial Dry Cleaners. I would have noticed immediately when they were doing the alterations that day a huge black stain! Now we're in May and still no resolution, they don't want to take any accountability for what happened. There asking for more time to dry clean the dress. How much more time do you need the wedding is in June! DO NOT DO alterations here. They send it to someone else to repair and it's not worth the time or hassle ! My daughter recently had prom and I took her dress to Memorial Tailors on I -10 please see Charlie! He did an amazing job and her dress was heavily beaded! He is a professional and I had no issues! Not happy at all with how our comforter was treated. When my husband went to pick it up on the day it was set to be ready, our $400 comforter was balled up in a cart. Our WHITE comforter has black marks on it where it probably hit the floor or some dirty part of that cart, and the detergent used has a ridiculously over powering scent. I left this morning and will never go back to dry clean planet, not because of what happened to me but what I witnessed. A lady came in and the gentelman working told her he had found some pants that they had misplaced back in April 2013. Evidently they had reimbursed her only $20 for $65 pants, and would only return the pants to her if she paid them back the $20. To me that's horrible service. You lost my pants for a year, don't make me pay for them AGAIN. I will be going accross the street from now on. read more

This place takes no responsibility for ruined clothes. I took a custom made dress shirt to them to be cleaned. When I returned to pick it up, my shirt had grease smeared across the collar and a large rip near one of the cuffs. When I asked them what they intended to do about the damage they had caused, they told me they would take no responsibility. Customers beware. This is a very shoddy business!! read more

Ok. Like a previous customer, today was the last straw. We have been going to this dry cleaners since we moved to the neighborhood 7 years ago. It is mostly just my husbands shirts that we have done there so that is hard to mess up. However, several times I have been very suspect that they are just ironing the shirts and not cleaning. I have picked up shirts there and under the arms still had an odor but the shirt was freshly pressed. I just thought to myself " surely not" and went on. I never take any of my nice dresses there. I would rather pay more and not take the chance of having them messed up. About 3 months ago, my husband accidently took a 100 % very expensive wool ski sweater to them and they washed it. It is now 1/2 the size and nothing can be done about it. When we asked them about it they said that they had cleaned it and it must be the sweater that is bad. Ok, we overlooked again. Then yesterday, I took some silk curtains there to be pressed as my drapery installer was coming today to install the drapes. When I took them off of the hanger this morning I could not believe what I saw. The creases where they had been folded in the package were still there. It looked like no one had touched them and they charged $ 162 to just press the curtains. I had to take off work to take them back in as the installer was coming today. I asked for the manager and he was very rude to me. He said that he couldn't press them very good because he didn't clean them ??? What????? I told him that I needed a credit because I had to miss work to deal with the curtains. He said no because he was offering to do them over. I told him that I couldn't believe that he was willing to lose a 7 year customer over this incident. He acted like he didn't care. I will be going across the street as I should have done a long time ago. Avoid this cleaners. read more

I had been taking my clothes here for two years with decent but not exceptional service. I took a slipcover to the store for them to DRCLEAN the item. This item was new, had never been washed or dry cleaned and had minor wear and tear stains. When I picked up the item, it was wrinkled, had lost its sheen and still had stains on it. It clearly had been washed AND dried! When I took it home to put it back on the bench that it covers, and it had shrunk so much that it would not even pull down over the top of the bench. I calmly took it back to get an explanation and see what they would do, and they claimed that nothing was wrong with the item, that they did in fact dry clean the item, and they would refund me the $22 that it cost to clean plus $40. The slipcover will cost $600 to replace! They were so rude and said they were doing me a favor. From a person who has spent $100 - $200 per month there for two years, I was more than frustrated. Very stupid decision on their part. read more
