Went last night with our friends and had a great time! Wednesday is half price night on crab so we ordered four pounds and started digging in. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get your food since they make it right then and there. We had the spicy garlic and it was delicious but we are definitely added more spice next time! Overall pleasant experience we were able to get gloves to wear. In total for the four pounds of crab, side of fries, drink, and a water it was around $70 to give you an idea. The location seems a little hole in the wall but those are some of the best spots to go! They have covid requirements in place so be aware seating could be limited at the moment. read more

I was craving oysters HELLA bad,and my boyfriend surprised me with Drunken Oyster! It is in a strip center so if you blink,you will kind of miss it! It is next to a tattoo shop. The oysters were yummy and exactly what i was craving. Really refreshing in a hot summer day! I like to hit it with a dash of tobasco and a squeeze of lemon. They were on special this day so they were cheaper. I think 1 dozen for $9 or 10 something instead of $12 something? The popcorn shrimp and fish filet basket really impressed us. Usually in these type of restaurants,they skimp on one protein and add way too many fries. It is usually overwhelming with the fries and underwhelming with the proteins! But here,it was the opposite! There was more than enough popcorn shrimp and the fries didn't overwhelm everything like what normally happens. We were happy campers. We were SO happy that we chose to order the minimum of the 2lbs of garlic butter crawfish and call it a day! I was happy the crawfish already came with corn and potatoes,whereas other places charge you like, .50/corn and potato. Everything here was wonderful and FRESH. But what we were MOST impressed with was the ONE cashier and server all by herself taking orders like an absolute CHAMP. A literal BADASS with a fucking SMILE on her face and a PLEASANT attitude,whereas lesser people would have buckled from the pressure,given how packed and noisy the restaurant was that afternoon. Understanding that this was a very casual place, we entered with an objective mindset. We walked to the counter to order. The gal standing behind the counter ignored us for a little bit. Not sure why. Once she greeted us she was ok. Not overly happy to see us. We spent a few moments trying to decifer the menu on the wall. I asked her what was popular and she pointed to the specials with her pen, without speaking. Hmmmm. We placed our order and sat down. A lot of folks seemed to have ordered crawfish. We ordered the fried fish, shrimp, oyster platter, a salad and the king crab legs. Fried rice that came with crab legs was average but soy sauce gave it a lift! Everything else was excellent and the portions were large! We had asked for the garlic butter for crab legs but we got the cajun sauce. Ok, no big deal. The amount of " heat" was just perfect. Not too hot, but flavorful. Some of the ceiling tiles should be replaced. They make the place dingy. There are tvs on the walls. This could be a good place to watch a game (Wreck'em Tech!)... this is a fun neighborhood joint. We will go back. THIS IS OUR GO TO SPOT FOR FRIED SEAFOOD! I have tried a few places nearby that have better deals and liked those places for a while but this is the one place I have gone and consistently enjoyed the food. We keep it pretty basic on most visits and just go with the fish and shrimp fried. But the consistency is what keeps me going here. I had a place that was about half the price but just didn't feel I got the same delivery of flavor and quality. I can really never get tired of eating fish and shrimp here lol. I recently got the shrimp fried rice and was surprisingly happy with it! I haven't yet tried it myself but I have had friends go get boiled seafood and they really enjoyed it. This place really sells some of everything. I mean they have wing night which I never get to try because I usually don't eat out on weekdays. For the price this place is pretty good when you order crawfish corn and potato are already included if you order Louisiana style it's a little bit salty but very spicy and lemony I added sausage and eggs for a small charge and a pound of shrimp as well and I think 3 to 4 pounds of crawfish my total ended up being $45. I drive 36miles as often as once a week to get some Louisiana flavor crab. Its the closest I've gotten to Central Louisiana boiled seafood flavor which is where I'm from.. The boiled shrimp always peels weird so I skip them. But their catfish and fries and great also. My cousin loves the grilled oyster. They have really good food here. read more

I was in the area yesterday to eat lunch at another nearby restaurant that was I found out was closed. So after doing a quick Yelp search I came here. When I entered my senses first detected a slight odor of ammonia probably from mopping the floor. I went to the counter and after looking at the large menu on the board decided to order a shrimp and oyster poboy with fries for $8.39. I added a soft drink. When the food arrived I was a little surprised. The poboy was chocked full of shrimp and oysters (see pic). It was what I would call a Big Boy Poboy! You need to be wearing your man pants to eat this sucker!! Actually I had to eat some of the shrimp and oysters from the sandwich first to reduce the content on the Poboy so that I could close the sandwich. I thought the sandwich was good (3.5). The meal came with one side and I chose their cole slaw. It was mayo based and good also (3.5). As you can see I rated both items at a 3.5 however I am rounding up my overall score for Yelp purposes to a 4. The relatively low price for the meal along with the very generous serving size deserves the round up. read more

Talk about hidden gem, my friend was super excited to take me here. I'm very picky about my crawfish and will say Drunken Oyster exceeded my expectations! Flavor, size, and free condiments are some of my favorite things! Drunken Oyster hit all of those, I even tried the wings and they met the crispy/flavor factor...I had the lemon pepper and the Louisiana rub (giving Wing Stop a run for their money). At this restaurant, self service after you order and pay up front! With that in mind, they still have employees coming by tables and cleaning up while you eat crawfish/meal! Typing this review has me salivating. I cant wait to return and enjoy the oysters next!! I went earlier this week and I'm already planning the next visit, hopefully this week!! Today, I ordered bodain balls to start and then a shrimp/fish poboy and gumbo. The bodain balls got to the table after the poboy and gumbo ....and didn't taste very good. I've been to the Drunken Oyster a few times. While this place isn't the fastest in making the food -- it is always worth the wait. The food is cooked on the spot and is steaming hot when it gets to you. The prices aren't terribly expensive for what you get. I've tried a couple of the fish plates and poboys -- and have been happy with each. Given the location of this restaurant, along with the prices, I can't see why anyone would want to dine at Long John Silver across the street. They have some good happy hour pricing as well. I came here long time ago, and remember not having the best Cajun experience. But when I went back, it definitely improved a lot quality wise- and quantity wise. First of all, we went during hurricane harvey and we were just thankful that business like this are open. They had diverse selections from boiled seafoods to regular american foods. Its unique in that you order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you, then you also pay at the counter after you are done eating. I was bit confused but just thought that I would share here. We ordered 1. Snow crabs 4/5 : Pretty salty, but definitely authentic cajun style sauce and fresh ingredients. For ordering 2lbs we got like 4 clumps of legs 2. Chicken wings: 4.5/5: Really crispy, but bit too thick batter. Ordered barbecue wings, but they brought out regular with no sauce. It was still tasty. 3. cheese burger: 5/5 Pretty legit with double patty and fresh vege. We were already so full by the time burger came out but still able to finish it 4. Combination fried rice 3.5/5 It was too buttery. You can actually taste butter more than rest of the ingredient. I couldn't have more than 3 spoons, as it was too greasy for me. Overall, I had a pleasant experience despite of errors on getting our orders wrong. I was just glad that they were able to open at this time of the disaster.
