We saw drunk Shakespeare and did not have food at venue. The service for drinks was good. They also had a bar you could get drinks from. The theatre is small but it's nice to be able to view the show from every seat. The show itself was hilarious and they had the crowd sing along with them in some scenes. It was a bit difficult to find the theater. We also went back to see drunk pirates but I liked the Shakespeare one better.

The Drunk Shakespeare experience was definitely a memorable, fun, something different to do experience. The theme for the night we went, Treasure Island!!! Upon entering, the staff is already in character and welcoming you in to get you situated and seated. The Rose Theater is not big, and all of the seats are really good as the acting is interactive in all directions. Speaking of seats, they have QR codes right there so you can place your cocktail orders, which are served throughout the 90 mins show. Overall, the play had us laughing hard and loud. There were some crazy funny drunk moments in the show and the crowd was very interactive with them as expected... If you know me, then you know I'm all in. Looking forward to attending more events from this production... Drunk Dracula...and other things here at this theater.

Omg this was a fantastic experience! The staff was fantastic, service was excellent, and the show was phenomenal! They are doing a drunken pirates show and we will be coming back in two weeks!

Hidden in downtown Phoenix, you will find The Rose Theater, where the production of Drunk Shakespeare happens. In a small intimate theater, portrayed as The Library, one actor takes 5 shots of their drink of choice while still acting out the play Romeo and Juliet. It's a mix of comedy, improv, and ridiculousness that also allows for audience participation. The actors were amazing while being able to change the direction of the story. We had the convenience of ordering drinks and snacks right from our seats and having them delivered. We had a great time full of laughs! I highly recommend this hidden gem if you're looking to do something off the beaten path! Great for date nights, ladies night out, bachelor and bachelorette parties, you name it. If you're looking for something inappropriate, look no further lol!

Small cozy theater. You line up under the valet tunnel of sorts, and you offer your name once they open the doors. No physical tickets. They offer you an optional shot once you come in, then usher you to your seats. You have a qr code menu to order any food or drink and it will be brought to you quickly. As for the most important part, the show itself. It was a fantastic mix of improv and classic Shakespeare. You will laugh and you will enjoy yourself. Highly recommended.

Our daughter purchased us tickets for this event for Christmas and when I popped online after we got them, I realized that this show was ending soon and another beginning (drunk Christmas carol)- so we grabbed the last day it's a little difficult to find the entrance door because of the construction on third Street but if you walk to the center of Arizona center and follow the signs, you will be basically taking a right in front of the bank of America and then a left and you'll see a colored door that is the entrance to the event. The space is pretty small and holds about 80 people at full capacity. It is all hard bench seating and the shows last exactly 90 minutes. There will be an opportunity to auction who wishes to be King and queen, and you'll have a lovely upholstered chairs as well as a bottle of champagne and some snacks. For our event, it was someone's birthday so they popped for those seats. The show is probably not for you if you're easily offended as it is quite bawdy and raucous, but great fun!! note that if you opt for the floor seats, which is basically the first row of three bench rows, you most likely will be participating in the show so be prepared for that You are also given a shot to drink upon entry and then they have QR codes so you can order other drinks and snacks as you wish. A beer was seven dollars and they had a decent Chardonnay for $12. You can also get some small snacks like pretzels and such. These people are very talented not only in comedy, but one guy could sing and play guitar like nobody's business One of the cast is singled out at the beginning of each show to do four shots and then there are two opportunities later where the king and queen decide if that character has to take another shot and of course they almost always do. And they must stay in complete form for the show so it is really quite funny. make sure to take a Waymo or an Uber or a Lyft of course :) I have no idea what the show cost since they were gifted tickets but if you're looking for something unique and funny, this might be good for you !

The drunk Shakespeare presentation was so much fun! The cast is talented and witty. I enjoyed observing their real time emotion and they were very engaging with the audience. The Rose theater was difficult to find, so as other reviewers have advised, allow yourself an extra 15 or 20 minutes minimum to get there. The theater was quaint and cozy. You can order drink and snacks directly from a QR code - they had a list of cocktails and mocktails and finger food snacks like a charcuterie board, nuts, and chocolate truffles. The prices were reasonable and about what you'd expect for a performance like this. The performance was entertaining and pretty raunchy - don't go with your parents! :)

TO PEE, OR NOT TO PEE.... That is the question. Doth thee dare risk breaking the seal in the middle of the show?? You may want to evacuate your bladder before the play or you will miss parts of the show going back and forth to the restroom. Or even worse, you might laugh so hard you will end up peeing your pants! I saw Drunk Dracula, but all their shows follow a similar format. As you enter the room, you are handed a specialty shot of alcohol concocted by the bartender. For all you lushes, there is a bar to keep the drinks flowing... like blood (dracula joke) but you're gonna need it, because there is a drink-on-queue opportunities throughout the show. The room is pretty small, and close quarters, seating about 40 people. The seats are bench seating so be prepared to sit upright for over an hour almost shoulder to shoulder. But if your back is hurting just reading that, the top seats around the perimeter are bar style seating on stools with a narrow counter in front of you. Don't fret, there is not a bad seat in the house; it's 10 feet from the top seat to the floor. These shows are like a Frat Party meets 'Whose Line Is It Anyways' if it took place in the GLOBE THEATER. Drunk Dracula was a riot. You can enjoy sinking shots while you watch Dracula sinks his teeth into his victim. The show is very interactive. The King and Queen (designated to whoever is the highest bidder) can dictate parts of the show's plot when they are given choices by the actors, as well as determines when the actors must drink shots. It's quite the power trip! I wouldn't be surprised if you'd want to wear a crown around your house afterwards. There are mini games throughout the show where audience members become contestants, and of course, losers DRINK! This is a high energy show complete with song and dance. It's a got all the elements to be a thespian's Midsummer Night's Dream come true! Dracula is known to suck, but the show does not; it is hysterical! The actor will occasionally break character, and also joke with audience amid their act and ad lib. You can Count on Drunk Dracula to give you good laugh and a good buzz.

My friends and I had such a great time at this show for my birthday. We saw Romeo and Juliet. The theater is decorated in such a fun theme. The theater is small and intimate. They welcome you with an optional welcome alcohol shot. The play is interactive with the audience. The actors were fabulous. You can order food and drinks from your seat which are delivered to you throughout the performance. The service was fantastic. I will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun comedy experience.

EVERYONE in Arizona should experience this! Date night, birthday group, anniversary party, bachelor party, back to school teachers, college field trip- ALL OF THE ABOVE!! In my case- therapy bonding activity. It's so much fun. You do NOT need to be a drinker to enjoy this. I was sober and had a complete blast! Had me weak in my knees. Key note to those in the throne: RING YOUR BELL!! Angela was hilarious followed by the stars: Ryan, ksjusha and the handsome bald gentleman who we had intensity crisis with every time he had a new cosplay act. We thought there were more than 4 actors at one point. Sorry your name isn't on the website sir.... Unless another identity change ....perhaps with hair?? All of them were absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a fun night out!

Jessamy P.

Had an amazing time, lots of laughs for sure. If you don't like sexual jokes then this performance is definitely not for you. My only complaint is that it was wooden bench style setting and it was very uncomfortable to sit still there for 1.5 hours. There isnt even room to stretch your legs unless you are in the front row. They offer and option to order drinks/pay from your phone and they were delivered pretty swiftly!

Such a fun evening to go on a date or a girls night out! Very small Cocktail menu to be aware of which IMHO is the only negative, but they do have wine and beer on the menu. The actors are phenomenal and great at improv. It will definitely be a memorable night!

The interior of the theater

Drunk Shakespeare is a great evening of entertainment. The abridged version of "Romeo and Juliet" as performed by a cast of five actors is full of pop culture references, bawdy humor, improvisation and the most famous scenes from the play. And one of the actors takes four shots of vodka before the show, which adds to the laughs. Some negative reviews have been left by people who were dismayed by the adult content, so please be advised: The are a lot of sex jokes in the performance, along with, well, I won't spoil things, but the show is not for prudes. It's definitely R-rated, so make your decision to attend or not accordingly. If I had one quibble, it's that the signature cocktails are quite expensive for how not-strong they are. If I were to go back, I'd get something in a can. Also note that seating is bleacher-style and the back row is the only seating option with any back support, in case that's an issue for you. Overall, Drunk Shakespeare was a blast, and I would go again.

How are seats assigned? When you buy your ticket? Or do they seat you as you arrive to the venue?

You pick your seats

Are there other performances beside Macbeth? Or is that just the one that lends itself best to the drunken theme. Fun show, by the way!

I saw Romeo and Juliet tonight.

Does the late show start right at 9pm on the dot?

Nope

Is there a way to resell tickets? We have two mezzanine seats for this Saturday April 22 at 5pm but are unable to go.

I think you should be fine just selling them to whomever. They checked our IDs to make sure we're over 21, but they didn't seem to care about the tickets beyond them being real. I don't think it matters if the person/people who originally bought the…

But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.

Based on how this place is described and marketed, we were expecting an intimate, vintage-feeling evening where we could sit down, have a cocktail, listen to jazz, and enjoy the atmosphere. That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.
