They tried taking advantage of my wife and daughter over a simple lug nut issue. Absolutely ridiculous customer care. We had the security lug nut remover and they charged them more versus a standard pricing for tire change. This is after we had purchased new tires from them. I have been taking my car here for oil changes and tire changes for a while, they are good at that. Fast and Friendly, no issues. I feel compelled to write a review after my husband took his truck here to have his rear brakes checked. They quoted him over $800 for replacing both of his back drums. It didn't make sense. We took it to Simon's Auto Repair in Lewisville to get a second opinion. Simon was great and said that we were getting ripped off, he was able to take care of the busted piston for all of $260. He said the drums looked brand new and there was no way a mechanic would say the whole thing should be replaced other than they just assume you will never know the difference and fork over the dough. read more

Avoid this place. Front desk guy was rude and not welcoming. They also try and nickel and dime you for every little thing. You can tell they try to take advantage of people that don't know better. Not a good place to go. I had coupon code for a 19.99 oil change that I got from their website and I gave it to the front desk guy and he said ok. When I went to check out he only gave me 5$ off the oil change and would not uphold my coupon even though I went online in front of him and showed where I got the coupon. read more

First off let me say I never have put a review online, but felt that these guys deserved it. I have dealt with many automotive repair shops over the years on items as extensive as full engine rebuilds and almost always been disappointed with the service I've received as well as the prices I've paid and being a person that has handled my own repairs as often as possible have found great pricing as well as top notch service from this shop. I just picked up my new Mercedes from them yesterday after I hit a curb and damaged a lot of items. They worked with my insurance company to resolve all of my issues in a timely manner as well as had very good communication during the whole process. I can say without a doubt this is the most professional automotive repair shop I've ever dealt with and they have made a customer for life. Hit a curb, needed two new tires and an alignment. They quoted $330 for two tires. I brought the 2 used tires ($70). They charged me $99.99 for alignment, Mienke charges $69.99. They charged me $59 for balance and mounting of tires, plus a disposal fee. Mounting and balancing a tire can be done in 2 minutes. The car had three warning lights when I brought it in. $190 later all three lights are still on. read more

If there was a No Star I would choose it, because these people are scam artist. I went in for the Free Diagnostic and they quoted me just over $800. I went to Christian Brothers Automotive and got the problem fixed for just over $200. That's a $600 difference between the 2 places. DONT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU WITHOUT IDENTIFYING DIRECTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. And there daignostic equipment is CRAP! read more

However, I took my truck in a few weeks ago and they really pushed hard on up-selling other services that I did not feel I needed. DO NOT GO HERE!!! My mother was going to have her transmission done by one of the employees here. They charged her a $300 core charge, which she will not get back even though they ARE getting the money back. They charged her for extra services (a CV Joint, $150) which they did not do. She ended up having to have her car shipped somewhere else after 6 weeks just so her car would be fixed. That cost her another $185 because they did not follow simple instructions. read more

Took my car there for an alignment and inspection. Got a quote (a good price, which is why I went there). When I went to pick up my car, the price had doubled. They said the new guy didn't know what he was doing and would not honor the original price. When I got home I realized they hadn't done the inspection so I called them because they HAD CHARGED ME for it. They said they had to unplug my computer and my car needed to be driven 30 miles prior to being inspected so they couldn't do it. So I HAD TO GO BACK to get a paper in case I got pulled over before I got my 30 miles in and then I had to go back to the shop AGAIN to actually have the inspection done. What a sham read more

I have had a variety of both routine and repair jobs done here and they always do a great job; Tommy and Dennis are always friendly and take the time to explain everything (and will always tell me what's needed and what can wait). BE CAREFUL!!! After using this driver's edge for years, our son went for a state inspection. When he returned to get his car, he asked for his insurance and no one could find it and no one would help him. He was told "IT IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY," AND "IT MUST OF BLEW AWAY WITH THE WIND." These guys are full of crap and take advantage of women and any ignorance about cars. My mother (single mom) had her engine overheat while I was away on business and she took it to Driver's Edge. They did a disturbingly quick diagnoses and quoted her $938 to fix her thermostat and fans and scared her with commentary that it would be unsafe to drive (even across town). After hearing this, I did some more research and we decided to seek a second opinion. They were sketchy on the phone when she said she would be seeking a second opinion and looked visibly unhappy when she came back accompanied by a man to get her keys. We took it to Ashley Automotive across town and they identified the same issues but quoted about $400 less. They also warned her that the belt was starting to crack and would fix that too for a total price of about $650. Driver's Edge are scamming opportunists, or at least the lead guy, Tom, is. Given the other reviews, I think I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and having a strongly worded phone conversation with the manager. read more

These guys are super courteous and helpful. My daughter's car lost charge, and we tried to fix it at home. However, I didn't have the right tools to take are of putting the battery back in the car after it was charged. But didn't realize that was the only issue. I had roadside assistance tow the car to Driver's Edge, and I impatiently waited to hear that it was going to cost an arm and a leg to fix the car. They could have been like many companies and make up a problem, but they corrected the problem no charge!! Great lot of folks. read more

DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!! THEY CHEAT OLD LADIES!!! This company is trying to cheat my 85 year old mother. She took her car in for an oil change and inspection. Then they wanted to do work that was going to cost $1100 and some extra work. She told them NOT to do the work until she spoke with me and my husband. My Mom is very together but knows nothing about cars. I reminded her that she has a warranty and if she really needs work done, then we should check and see if it's covered by her warranty first. I talked to Driver's Edge and told them not to do the work. He said that she'd already okay'd it. (a lie) I told him to stop the work that we don't want it done. He said his mechanic was at lunch but he'd see when he got back. I called later to see if the car was ready to pick up. WILLIAM said the car was done and we owe $1100.00 and he won't give me my Mom's car until we pay it. read more

Do not go there for inspection. failed parking brake even though the car is an automatic. failed tires with tread on them still. failed emissions for an unknown reason - -had spent 2000 for engine issue and a new oxygen sensor that caused check engine light, no check engine after. They are too aggressive on their inspections. Had forgotten that I had quit going there in previous years because they would always fail windshield wipers, even if less than a year old. read more

SINGLE WOMEN BEWARE!!! I was having issues with my 2007 BMW 328i so I called Driver's Edge due to using them in the past for simple oil changes and state inspections (which they were able to handle). They indicated they knew how to address issues with BMW so I had my car towed there. To make a long story short, being a single woman made me prey to some pretty outlandish quotes for repairs. The manager admitted to not knowing what the issue was, but with $2700 worth of work done on my car, it might rectify the situation. Good thing I am not a complete idiot. I promptly got my car out of there and had it repaired for under $500. Come on, it is 2013 and women are smarter than that. A simple search on the internet told me that my car issues were common amongst BMW owners and with a simple diagnostic check with BMW diagnostic equipment, can find the issue and rectify without unnecessary cost to the owner. From tech who works the front desk and tries way too hard to be funny, to the shop manager who is just upset at life in general, it is not a pleasant place to go for your repairs. Tried to take advantage of my wife as she took her car up for an oil change and an inspection. Advised to have work done on brakes which were repaired less than a month ago. Would not go into detail about why they would not pass her car but were more than willing to repair and pass. When I questioned this, was told to just not come back...Don't worry, we won't and will advise anyone who asks to stay away. These guys are NOT to be trusted for anything other than an oil change, (and maybe not even that if you read the reviews on yellowpages.com). I have lived in Lewisville for 10 years. I have tried many shops in the area because I own many used cars. I have brought my cars to the Flower Mound store for the last 4 years. Each time they have made a mistake that could have resulted to injury to my vehicle's occupants or just flat out failed to do what they charged me for. Let's start with one of the life threatening events. I brought my wife's car in for a once over because she hadn't had the car in a shop for about 1 year other than the normal oil change and tire rotations. They told me the breaks, struts, shocks & rear hub assembly had to be replaced or else the car would be a hazard. I replaced all of the items they asked me to. But they failed to tighten the bolts that hold the rear shock mounts on correctly. One of the shock mount bolts came off while we were driving. They were so lazy they didn't tighten the bolts on the shock mount properly. When I called them about the issue they said we "must have hit a curb or something to make that happen". We didn't hit any curbs or any potholes. They just didn't take proper care while repairing our car. They also lied and said they wouldn't have had to remove the shock mount bolts to install the shocks/struts, but you can look up the replacement process online and see that's not true. On another occasion, I asked them to replace a battery and they left a huge amount of dried battery acid all over my car's battery storage area. They also didn't notice that the battery terminal collar was loose and almost broken off completely. I was charged a fee for the battery service installation and cleaning. I had to bring the car back because the battery terminal collar was so broken it was causing a failure in the connection to the battery node. They finally cleaned the battery acid after I asked them how they could overlook such a mess on the battery storage area while replacing the battery. read more
