I have worked in the car industry both nationally and internationally, and this is without a doubt the worst dealership experience I've ever had in my life. It's useless, unprofessional management systems like this that give car sales a bad name and make people hate buying cars. Before driving 4 hours, I agreed on a $30,500 OTD base price before trade with Dakota Berridge. We already had a 5.74% approval through our credit union, but they don't accept outside state financing. So we did a credit application but Dakota tried telling me my wife's credit wasn't good and tried to cap us at an insane 13.39%. I work in sales, I asked for the Risk-Based Pricing Notice which forces them to show the real credit tier instead of playing rate markup games. He got a little bit offended by that and told me nobody ever asked this in his sales career. Well it's understandable that normal customer won't ask it. Told him we wont do it until its close to 7-8%. Final approval came at 8.24%. When we got to the store, they said he left early. So another salesperson tried to hand us paperwork marked at 10% interest. I caught it and made them fix it to 8.24%. On the finance contract the trade-in tax credit wasn't applied. I caught that too and let it slide in good faith thinking it was just late-night human error. The main problem was when i came home and reading the contract. Somehow I missed that the desk never updated the agreed vehicle price to match our $30,500 OTD math, stuffing a $967 overcharge right into my financed total. When I brought it up right away to Dakota, he said "contracts are signed and funded." A professional dealership doesn't hide behind that excuse when a clerical mistake is made, you honor the agreed price and write a check back to the customer for the difference. I've done this job, and that is how real business is done who not only care about making profit but also their customer. I tried calling every single sales manager on the floor, but nobody answered or returned my calls. I reached out directly to Rich Persiani and Ryan Belcher by phone and email multiple times, and never heard a word back. Leaving a $967 price mistake on a contract isn't just dishonest, it's pure sloppiness from a management team. They only care about profit, not customer service or integrity. If you're local, maybe give 'em a shot. If you're considering traveling to see a vehicle, think twice. I drove 3 hours with a check in hand only to find a vehicle with both front and rear collision damage, a condensation filled headlight, a huge dent in the middle of the hood and numerous dents and deep scratches throughout. None visible from their pics or disclosed by my salesman. The condition was far worse than could be reasonably expected, and was obvious immediately upon personal inspection. My husband and I bought a used 2022 Tacoma from here with almost all positives. We called before coming to verify availability, walked in, got keys to test drive in less than five minutes. Told our salesperson that we were ready to purchase when we came back and got into the full swing of it. Went back to see Jack to run through finances with no issue. He was very informative and helpful guiding us through the process. Vehicle looked almost exactly the same as it did online and drove great. Had been on the lot for about 3 weeks and needed a wash. Updated 06/27/2026: after I posted negative reviews across every platform possible, the salesman reached out to me 06/20/2026 & invited me to drop off my vehicle at 9:00am on 06/25/2026, to let them have the vehicle all day to fix the radio they installed on 04/01/2026. I texted the salesman when I was 25 minutes away & he advised me to leave the key with the receptionist. When I arrived at the dealership, I bypassed the receptionist & went to the financing department to request a copy of the "We Owe" document that outlines the details of the radio. At that time, I also requested a loaner car, or complementary rideshare arrangements so that I could go home while they fix my vehicle; I live 61 miles away from the dealership. He refused to provide me a copy of the "We Owe" document, declined my request for transportation home, & circled me back to my salesman on the matter of the radio. I waited in the lobby for 3 hours before the radio guy showed up at noon. I showed everybody (finance, salesman, & radio guy) a 2nd opinion/written estimate that I obtained the day before, that proves the aftermarket radio is incompatible, it lists the exact factory OEM part number required & estimated labor at 30 minutes for a total of over $1150. The aftermarket radio is shooting error messages bc my trim package does NOT have navigation or a camera for the right turn signal. It requires radio w/o touchscreen bc a radio w/touchscreen conflicts w/my original backup camera screen. Radio guy told me that Honda no longer makes a factory radio for a 2016 Honda CRV, that's why they installed the aftermarket radio & he showed me the cost of the radio was $115, but my original financing rep from 03/27 told me it was going to be a $1000 radio (which aligns with my 2nd opinion/estimate). Radio guy cleared the "no signal, check connections" error message from the screen, told me the radio cancelled out some (but not all) steering wheel features (ie the clock) & he sent me on my way. Since they still have not provided me with the "we owe" doc outlining the terms of the new radio, I had no choice in that moment but to accept this "fix" from the radio guy. Upon further investigation I discovered that they inflated my purchase price $582 for the radio w/o my knowledge or consent, robbing me of the opportunity to make informed decisions on whether to finance the ($115) radio (plus additional tax and compound interest), or facilitate the installation of a new radio myself. Had they simply not given me a car with error messages, or just fixed the errors when asked, instead of giving me the runaround for several weeks, deflecting responsibility for the radio while simultaneously withholding the contract that defines the details of the radio, then we wouldn't be here right now. The way their predatory practices are just standard ops - literally sickens me. Updated 1-Star review 06/18/2026: Do not buy here. Bought a vehicle from Drive Direct on Morse Rd on April 2. My purchase was explicitly contingent on them installing an aftermarket radio system. They agreed to do the installation, but delivered the vehicle with a severe electrical defect: whenever the right turn signal is engaged (only the right turn signal, not the left turn signal), the radio and central screen completely short out and display a "check connections" error. I contacted the service department, but they told me that I needed to speak with my salesman. My salesman Nathan Weekes first told me to file a claim with my vehicle warranty but I declined, so he told me to deal with a "third-party radio guy" that they contract with, which I also refused. My agreement is with the dealership, so it's their responsibility to make this right. Now, the dealership is screening my phone calls, sales manager Drew Newman won't take my calls, the receptionist won't even answer the phone anymore when she sees me calling, they've collectively stonewalled me from being able to escalate any further. This was one of the most frustrating dealership experiences I've ever had. I came in with a pre-approval from my own lender, ready to purchase. My salesman was great--friendly and professional--but everything changed when it was time to finalize the deal. Instead of simply providing the purchase agreement, the finance team pushed me to apply through them, insisting it wouldn't impact my credit. When I declined and stood firm on using my pre-approved financing, they suddenly refused to sell me the car. Apparently, because they couldn't make additional profit from the financing, my business was no longer valuable to them. They basically are not interested in selling you a car if they can't add unnecessary charges and fees--which SUCKS and is horrible customer service. I've heard of dealerships doing this, but experiencing it firsthand was eye-opening. The sales manager's dismissive attitude only made it worse. If you're financing through your own bank or credit union, be prepared for pushback. Also, be wary of their financing tactics--dealerships like this often mark up interest rates beyond what the bank offers to increase their profit. While the staff was pleasant on the surface, their approach to financing was nothing short of predatory. Don't bother going here. The lower sticker price is negated by the repairs you'll need immediately after purchase. The purchasing process was fine (end of July, 3 months ago). However, they sold the vehicle with "new front brakes", but back ones needed done. At least we knew that upfront - we got back brakes done as soon as we bought it. Within a month or two, the vehicle started shaking when braking at high speeds. We took it in to our local mechanic, and while Drive Direct put on new brakes in the front, they didn't bother to put on new struts along with it. With bad struts, not only is it dangerous, but having new brakes is pointless and they've been completely worn down. And *of course* brakes are considered exclusionary in their pointless warranty - even if it is their fault. My husband has been trying to reach them to make it right, and every call goes to voicemail and no one bothers to call back. read more

If I could rate them a negative I would. We purchased a car from them at the end of July. They gave us an inspection report and noted the brakes were at 5 mm. We went to pickup the car after it was detailed and the car would not start. They jumped it and we took it home. They said they would cover any battery issues moving forward. In October a light came on stating brake system failure. We were originally told that the brakes needed replaced. We called our sales guy and the next thing we knew the brake system failure was caused by the battery needing replaced? They covered the battery and we were told everything was fixed. Two weeks later the same light came on. We took it to the Mazda dealer this time since we were getting so many weird mixed messages at Toyota Direct (who is Drive Direct's repair place). We were told that our brakes were at 3mm and needed replaced. We touched base with Drive Direct asking how this was possible since the brakes should have lasted 20,000-30,000 miles being at 5mm. We literally only put 2000 miles on it. We reached out to the manager Ryan Belcher and were told they weren't responsible and they already gave us a free battery. They should have fixed a lot more than they did and the information from their "inspection" does not match up to what the dealer discovered. DO NOT TRUST THE INSPECTION REPORT! GET IT CHECKED OUT BEFORE YOU BUY! I will never purchase from them again and will not recommend them since we received such horrendous customer service and were lied to. read more

I had a great experience with this dealership! I found a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica I wanted on Autotrader. Sales Associate Pattie Street was extremely helpful. I live in Northern Michigan, so I needed to be very sure about the van before making the trip to Columbus. Pattie was very knowledgeable but also conferred with others in sales and service as to the condition of the van. She called me as she took it out for a test drive, telling me about the features. The next day, she explained about a couple of scratches in the paint and facetimed me from the body shop. I watched in real time as the scratches were buffed out and repainted. I had so much confidence in Pattie that I decided to buy the Pacifica and have it shipped to my home. Drive Direct required me to finance through them, which was Fifth Third Bank. The interest was a little higher than my local bank, but I will refinance in a couple of months. I also purchased an extended warranty. I have had the Pacifica for two months now without any issues. My wife and I love this van! I would recommend Pattie Street to anyone who wants to buy a car. She truly went above and beyond my expectations. read more

I needed a car, and shopped online before coming here. They had loads of cars, including several of the model I wanted. I test drove one, and another model, and they were very laidback about that. The salesman wasn't pushy, and when I made it clear I knew exactly what I wanted, he was helpful with the details (and in fending off anyone else pushing things on me.) It's actually part of a big chain, which locally has Toyota and Chrysler dealers, so while I'd never heard of them they had plenty of experience in the field and handled things well. BUYER BEWARE! They will ensure that zero negotiations are had on a used car all while they do the bare minimum to make a car 'sellable'. Sold me a Subaru Forester with a hole in the muffler and bad control arms (which for those that dont know you need these in good working order to steer the car) among a host of other things that are in poor condition or will need addressed. I couldn't give Zero Star rating, so I guess they default to a 1 star. Steering or being able to control your vehicle on the road safely is apparently not important to Drive Direct, this is a MAJOR safety issue and I've had multiple mechanics recommend getting this fixed before operating again. Not only is it a safety issue, it is expensive (which is why they declined it at their own shop after recognizing it needed done), it is literally flagged on their service order as recommended but says - declined. Yea wonder why, because they can be shady this way and sell you something that you'll need to put a couple grand in as soon as you drive off the lot. Driving with damaged control arms is very damaging to other parts in your vehicle, so all the more reason to get it fix now as it is creating other problems. Also, they apparently do not switch out the filters in your vehicle when they complete their oil change, seems easy enough but I'm sure $ played a part in this as well, so you will have dirty filters (cabin & engine) as you drive off the lot. Can't forget about the hole in the muffler! I thought it sounded loud and was producing excessive smoke when driving it. But, the sales guy (Paul Winstead) assured me it didn't have anything to do with the engine or transmission...which is fine, but that still didn't address the noise, 'O Subarus are just different'. We could not have their mechanics look at it during this time as it was Saturday and they are not in on Saturday, which is probably a good thing since they 'missed' all these items in the first place or better yet neglected them... turns out it has a hole in it after being inspected further. I'm sure that all the sales people in there are more than comfortable driving off the lot with a hole in a car muffler they just bought or to have bad control arms that need the bushing replaced before being sold. Sorry, I don't believe that would be acceptable to most people paying north of $10,000 for a used car, this is completely unsafe and to think they had us drive an unsafe vehicle off the lot with our kids is completely baffling. If the vehicle needed too much work to make a dollar off of it, then get rid of it! Don't sell these cars to people paying their hard earned cash for a moneypit with MAJOR issues like this just to make a buck. What a horrible way to run a business! I will never recommend this awful place and wish I had gone with a more trustworthy dealership. Or I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to going over there, as it doesn't seem like I'm in the minority here. SO, I was offered $100 from manager Rich Persiani to get the muffler fixed. Long review coming. Highly do not recommend Drive Direct Dealership. Most of the bad reviews are under their main dealership Toyota Direct if you want to see how bad Drive Direct is. Financed a 2017 Lincoln with full warranty any and everything covered. Within a week had Engine issues. Notified Drive Direct and they bounced me to different departments for 3 months until my engine blew and had to have a new engine put in at Ford. Upon having the engine replaced and trying to run through warranty, I found Drive Direct never gave me the full warranty and had switched it to the next one down. A mass email was sent out by the dealership to their employees as they were telling everyone they would have full warranty any and everything covered then not giving it. I contacted them and they still would not help. It took 3-4 weeks to get it handled because I heavily googled for the actual owner named Bruce Daniels and contacted him. He had the dealership cut a check for what wasn't covered due to them not providing the correct warranty and was advised to fix the warranty. It has now been months after and I have another issue that would be covered under the full warranty. Come to find out it's still not corrected. The problem is the mechanical parts for the tire. Strut assembly, control arm, ect. Hit a pothole confirmed warranty would cover it if it was ever corrected. All they need the dealership to do is send or call a request in say they need it updated and they'll update it. Advised the dealership and they told me to try my insurance instead maybe they can do something. Insurance will only cover the tire as most insurance does. No matter what happened or happens to my vehicle should not matter to them as I shouldn't have to deal with them if everything was done right in the first place. And the fact still stands that my warranty is still not corrected for any future issues I may encounter with the vehicle. At this point the dealership and owner are completely ignoring any contact from me and will not resolve the issue. This may seem like a one time thing right maybe I have a little bad luck. However my brother financed a 2014 Jeep the day after me. 5 minutes off the lot and it start overheating. He called the dealership and they said it should be fine, it happens. Over the course of a months the engine was replaced by drive direct 5 times as it kept blowing and causing the driving capabilities to fail and him almost wreck. Worth noting that they did the work as they did the same to him with warranty as they did with me and did not give the correct warranty. My brother has a new car as I helped him contact the owner at one point and the owner put him in a new Honda from his major Honda dealership as he said he didn't want to give my brother a car again from drive direct. Even though his situation is resolved it was worth mentioning to back up this is a common issue with Drive Direct. I hope this help everyone read more

Buyer Beware! I purchased a 2016 Jeep Patriot from Drive Direct Performance, and soon after, I noticed it was shaking. I was encouraged to buy an extended warranty that supposedly covered everything. I promptly scheduled all warranty repairs at the Performance dealership in Georgeville, OH, which was the preferred Jeep service center recommended by Drive Direct. I encountered several challenges with the service department, but eventually, I managed to complete the necessary repairs and make full use of my extended warranty. After moving to Cincinnati, OH, my service was transferred to Centerville Performance. The service manager at Georgeville assured me that I would receive excellent care. Unfortunately, Centerville Performance was unaware of my Jeep's history, which led to a very stressful experience. They addressed a transmission leak, but just a few days after picking it up, my Jeep overheated, requiring a complete engine replacement. The vehicle still needs additional repairs and has recently been diagnosed with around $2,000 worth of work. While I understand that vehicle ownership comes with maintenance responsibilities, I wasn't fully prepared for the extent of the issues I've faced. Now, my Jeep rocks back and forth while driving, which is alarming, especially since I have children and feel unsafe. I find myself in a tough situation, as no one, including Performance Drive Direct of Columbus, will refinance or accept a trade-in. I pleaded with the dealership to take the vehicle back, explaining that as a single mom, I cannot handle this financial burden. After reaching out to Perry Singh at Performance Drive Direct, he initially promised assistance in trading it in once the warranty claim for a new (used) engine was completed. After a long time without my vehicle, I arranged to trade it in, only to be informed the night before that he could not help me. The numerous repairs and lack of support from what I believed was a reputable company have left me feeling disappointed. Despite the engine replacement occurring at just 55,000 miles and the used engine having 48,000 miles, the warranty has expired, leaving me exposed to further problems. Now, I'm left contemplating surrendering the Jeep. What was intended to be a positive experience has turned into a nightmare since I bought it last year. Over 14k in repairs through the extended warranty company has been exhausted there is no more warranty coverage available. Here is everything that has been done in the last 6 months, the time frame that I've had the vehicle. I purchased a used 2019 Infiniti QX60 in March of '23. It's been fine until in August it started to sputter at most speeds and intermittently shoot out a cloud of gray smoke from the exhaust. We took it to an Infiniti dealership and they told us the previous owner had been told the engine needed an overhaul due to the presence of oil sludge. They informed us the parts alone for this repair would cost $9000 to $10000 dollars. I know Drive Direct would have had full knowledge of this when they sold me this vehicle. They parked it inside which was nice due to the cold weather. The mileage listed on the car did not align with the mileage listed online. We drove the car and I was not happy with it. Me and my husband were looking for a used (new to us) car for our family of five. We went to the dealership and left that day with what we thought was a great car that fit our families needs. A week and a half later the dealership called us and told us we had to bring the car back as they could not secure the title for the car. My husband had to take a day off work to return the car to the dealership and try and find something that would fit our budget and needs. After they messed up selling us a car they could not get a title for they were unwilling to work with him or negotiate a deal for him with another car, and they did not prioritize him while he was at their establishment. In total the day he took the car back he was there for around 6 hours. To top it all off two days later after this dealership told us we couldn't buy the original car and had to return it to the dealer due to titling issues the car was available again online for sale at $1000 less than when we would have been purchasing it for. Searched for quite some time for a specific vehicle. Found what I was looking for at Drive Direct. Chatted with salesman Nick. He sent me a walk around video. Vehicle was priced on cars.com for 41,995. Sticker in window reflected the same price. I changed my schedule around to get to Columbus to pick up this vehicle the next day since they would not hold the truck even with a deposit. I was proactive in taking care of the online credit app the night before. I was told the salesman would hold onto the key and would let me know if anyone was coming to look at the vehicle before I could get there. Half the day went by, and I figured I better check in since I had not heard anything and because I had made transportation arrangements immediately after getting off work today. The salesman informed me that he did not do anything with my credit app because they raised the price by 3,000.00. No call, nothing. Test drove a car that was completely FILTHY and totally beat up that they are trying to sell for $30,000. Then found another car online and went in with our trade. They low balled us and offered us $3,800 less than another dealership down the road. Also the car we drove, the rear hatch wouldn't open, the horn didn't work and the power mirrors didn't work. We were fed a line of lies that said the hatch was a safety issue and that the car needed to be powered off and all doors shut for it to open. My friend had the same exact car and I called them out on it and showed them that his rear hatch opened just fine with the car running and TWO doors open. Then they said they weren't sure they'd fix the power mirrors and also the horn would only be fixed if we bought the car. I don't appreciate being lied to and being low balled. If you want to get a lot more bang for your buck, go to CarMax down the street. You'll get a lot more money for your trade and their cars actually all run and everything works! I will never purchase a car from these liars! read more

After finding the car I wanted at this dealership I did research on multiple website on this company before driving 2 hours. Boy it seems like I just dodged a bullet. I think the people who have experienced bad business practices here should seek out the help of the attorney general's office and get it shut down. read more

I purchased a 2020 Honda Civic 12/23. It only had 27,000 miles on it. When I test drove the car, the tire light came on. They told me it was from the cold weather. After taking the car home and driving the next day, the tire light was still on. I called and they told me to bring it back. After being there for 3 hours, it had a screw in one on the tires. They claimed they replaced it. The next day, tire light was back on. Took it to a tire shop and they replaced a stem valve on a different tire. Fast forward to 7/24, having the car 7 months, need all new tires because they were dry rotted. This has been a nightmare. I will not be purchasing a car from this place ever again. Please be aware. Plus, to add... the experience overall was not pleasant. I was there 5 hours to do a trade in and get the car. The car was not that clean in the inside, but I was already just done and wanted to leave. read more

awful. they were willing to sell me a car that had a huge screw in the tire. When I told him there was a screw there they acted surprised, but then they also said it happens quite often there. my mechanic said the car needed for new tires - drive direct was not willing to give me four new tires because they said "we don't do tires.". after "speaking to the manager" they were really to knock off a few dollars or they were going to give me two new tires. I was willing to do that and then they brought me the pricing and they had added a $499 gloss coat service that I did not ask for. I had to ask what the item was-they were just going to add it on! sneaky! DO NOT GO TO THEM. These are exactly the people who give car sales people a bad reputation. I do think it's a good thing that happened because I was able to find the exact same car with less mileage for less money at different dealership. read more

I've dealt with ALOT of salesman, dealership and nothing has been close to the great experience I've received from the staff at driver direct. They have been responsive, communicative, and helpful throughput my entire process! I got my car exactly a month ago today and just revived a text message from Perry asking for an update on the car and thanking me for my business! He has been great to me! Great experience purchasing our Silverado truck from Andrew at Drive Direct Morse Rd in Columbus. We actually had driven from Cincinnati to Columbus to view some other trucks at other dealerships. All the others we looked at were total junk for our price range. We saw this truck that was slightly more than we wanted to spend, but Andrew worked with us and we were able to purchase without going to far over budget. Both Andrew and the finance manager were great to work with. Overall the experience was quick and painless and we were able to get a great truck and felt good about the price. All I can say is do your own research. Whatever your salesperson tells you in advance will be to get you in the door, and holds no value to anyone outside of it. We researched listings for weeks and found a good one here. We reached out and spoke with Dave, meticulously covering all of our details, including the fact that we wanted to trade in the old car, and that we intended to finance the whole thing. Regrettably, we also disclosed that we were driving overnight from Syracuse to get there first thing on Saturday. I picture the grinch smile forming over his face the moment he read that. We arrived at 9:00 AM. This was supposed to be a quick transaction, we wanted to be back home in Syracuse by dinner time. First thing, the car was being test driven when we got there. We asked why, and what if the person decides they want to buy it? We only drove up here because he said he'd hold it for us today only. He couldn't provide details, but for two hours we sat idly at his desk waiting to test drive the car. The car was virtually untouched from when it came from the previous owner. It was filthy, and full of stains and traces of personal items. It must have been Dave's first time actually seeing the car, because he discretely took a hair tie off the center console before we got in and tossed it, thinking we didn't see. The car drove fine. We were interested in buying it. He said he'd have it detailed while we finished the rest. This is the part where things broke down. They wouldn't take our trade in because the amount owed on it was higher than their offer. This is normal, I found out later, but I'm not a savvy car buyer, so I just deferred to what Dave had promised me after I was 100% forward with all of that information. Now we're both driving home in separate cars, that's already a big pill to swallow. Now despite having great credit, they're asking for almost 1/3 of the price up front and won't budge on it. Time just kept passing and passing. Suddenly it's 4:00 and we hadn't eaten or slept since Friday. It's weird, but it felt like they knew this. They kept talking about how we drove all the way there and how "it would be a shame to have to leave empty handed". I told him we were driving from Syracuse to show we were serious about buying the car, and they were openly using it to leverage our sunk cost against us. After figuring out all the money we had in the world to spend in that moment, the finance guy let us walk empty handed instead. When Dave saw us in the parking lot, he had assumed we were ready to leave with the car. When we told him it was a no go, he told us to wait there. Not exaggerating at all, within less than a minute, he returned to us and said "they'll take the amount you said you could pay." Now we know this whole thing is a gd mockery, but their tactics worked. The only thing we wanted in the world was to just go. Car or no car, we've gotta be done. We quickly finish the paperwork, and then pace around out front for another HOUR while waiting on the car to be detailed. So you can imagine the actual rage I felt when I got into the car to leave and immediately saw/smelled that it hadn't been touched. What in the world were we waiting for all day long? I can't think of a time I've ever felt more wronged, it was all I could do not to go back in the building and make an honest to god scene. I called the business and they told me Dave wasn't there. I immediately hung up and called him on his personal cell. Without skipping a beat, and without a trace of empathy in his greasy little salesman heart, he acted like this was always the plan. "Yeah, we couldn't get it in. I'll send you a check." There wasn't much I could do or say without likely losing my cool and getting myself into trouble, so I told him absolutely, send me the check. Do it today. We'll be in touch if you don't. And hung up. By now it's about 6 PM, and we have to pay last minute rates for a hotel room since there's no chance of us getting back home in two cars. I waited a bit before leaving this review to see if anything, anything at all would be done to redeem the experience. We never got our check from Dave. It took them months to send the title, with us trying to void the loan before the bank directly intervened and sent it themself. The car has held up fine since we got it, we just had a bunch of incidental things to fix. (Broken lights, electronic components, things you don't catch when you sell the car without so much as looking at it between owners.) I shredded and threw away a stack of forms and applications left in the glove box from the previous owner, filled out and containing very personal information. This is the only one-star review I've ever given on Yelp. I still get worked up when I think about how this went, and the blatant levels of disregard and disrespect that went into it.
