That's something I used to do all the time when I lived in the city, but never do out here in the sticks. Man, I really miss bodegas. There's nowhere to get papers and lotto anywhere near me, but Acme hits the mark in that regard, plus you get an in house Starbucks to boot. Not too shabby. The only negatives I can think of are that you can't redeem free drinks from the Starbucks app and you can't order in advance. The two main improvements were the new beer aisle and Starbucks, both very near the right side entrance to the supermarket, just beyond the bakery. These in house coffee shops are a version of the outlets found in airports around the world. A decent work area for the crew, with smaller units for pastries and light fare, and very limited displays for their branded coffee and accessories. The mermaid has been here about six months and they are efficient in their operation. One early evening this week it was well staffed with a friendly crew ready to serve. The barista kept her poise as she mixed my Chai Latte. Never missed a beat in our repartee. The others were cleaning up in anticipation of closing within the hour. Perhaps, because they see the same customers routinely, but this shop was far better in its customer service than the equivalent business in an airport. They show that the opportunity to build relationships enhances the overall experience. No doubt, for both parties. Even this Starbucks-phobe found this captive distribution point enjoyable. It even made their drinks taste better somehow. Good job!
