I'm giving 4 stars because there is no open mike or karaoke and EVERYONE asks about having karaoke. They seem to be able to make any cocktail in the world with any flavor, so my husband had a blueberry mule, which was good. We had a chef salad and chicken caesar. Both were large and fresh and had a lot of the good stuff in it, not just lettuce. This restaurant is a nice refreshment for the downtown area and gave us a reprieve from the heat. I really hate to do this, but, this was one of the worst meals we've had. You would think that "pulled chicken" would be tender and juicy - it was lukewarm, dry and loaded with pepper. The mashed potatoes were big chunks of soggy potatoes that butter wouldn't even melt on. I was hungry and couldn't even finish the meal. So disappointed. The Chicken Parmesan was not much better. It was on a bowl of pasta that could have fed 3 people. Again, lukewarm and very peppery. Maybe it was an off night, but it was not good. The venue looked great - big stage for live music with lots of room for dancing. Posters of musicians from past and future performances lined the walls. It looked like a fun place. Service was very good but only our appetizer was HOT the rest was semi-warm which took away from the rest of the experience. The ambiance was good I felt like I could hang out there for another hour and not feel rushed or like I was a bother to anyone. Mediocre food, terrible service. It was a comedy of errors with our server, forgot to bring our appetizers, brought the wrong entre, forgot this or that, rushed off a couple times real fast because she was embarrassed. The worst part about the service was that the manager passed the blame on her kitchen staff and even started to give us attitude and argue with us, then after, despite admitting that they dropped the ball, she didn't even offer any sort of compensation such as small discount or free dessert or anything. I'll give a star for food and service but......but not a place for larger groups. I made arrangements from out of state for my mother in laws 90th birthday dinner for 11 or people last February. When my family arrived they were seated at separate tables in the main area. When they asked to be seated together they were told it would cost $200. (Turned out to be $100 in the end....but still.). This was an awkward and unnecessary situation for my family. I am out here visiting and was just told about this. I contacted the restaurant today and was told that "all the arrangements were made based on the party being in the main dining room ". They said I didn't request the "event room". No one told me when I made the arrangements that they could not accommodate 11 people together in the main dining room. Why would they want to sit at separate tables? I was so embarrassed when I realized my sister in law had to pay $100 for them to sit together. The restaurant didn't even tell me or put it on my bill. The restaurant just texted me the receipt and told my family had a great time. Why couldn't they push two tables together for 11 people? That is not a big deal. Instead of charging for an "event room". Family tells me that the gal helping them was abrupt and said "no". She said that if they wanted to be together they had to rent an event room. Apparently food and service were good but the folks who are local said the experience has made them not want to return. read more

This place is AWESOME! If you are in this town it is a must go to. We had a wonderful server who took care of us. I'm not sure here name, but she was a sweetheart! This is our go-to when staying in Ogallala. Though I don't have kids, it seems kid-friendly. Friendly staff, and has some outdoor seating. The latter matters to us right now, given the COVID issue. I got the club sandwich with their potato salad. The portion size was reasonable, and they did a nice job with the sandwich. Some clubs can be pretty bland, while others are dominated by the sauce. Or you break a tooth on the overcooked bacon. I lked their blue cheese potato salad. But then again, I like blue cheese. And it could have used a bit more IMHO. read more

As a group of six that has been planning this trip to Driftwood for three weeks was disappointing. The food was good but we got cut off twice with drinks. First time we had order appetizers and got cut off after three and then after ordering meals got cut off again after three. We drove an hour to watch a game, we were not loud and we are a group that tip very well but was very disappointed in being cut off and there was no one else in the place. Will not being going back. On day 3 of our road trip, we had no idea where to go in the small town of Ogallala, Nebraska. Yelp helped. Driftwood is the perfect modern spot with good beer and friendly service. AND good food! I don't eat much red meat, but when I do have it, I want it to be as high a quality as possible. Driftwood gets their beef from the family owned Morgan Ranch who specializes in Wagyu beef. It was the most tender and tasty beef I have ever had. And the price was reasonable. I know steaks can be expensive, so getting a Wagyu Ribeye dinner (considered the "Mercedes of beef") for $33 felt like an experience I couldn't pass up. Again, the service was great. We like to eat at the bar. The women behind the bar were engaging, sweet and beautiful. Highly recommended! read more

Visited on our drive home to Buffalo after a month in Utah. The walleye and salmon were nicely done with fresh vegetables and a potato. We sat at the bar since the place was busy on a Friday night but the bartender was attentive and very pleasant. The place had a nice local vibe and plenty of sports showing on multiple TV screens. Amazing is the only word to use. Blown away to find such amazing food in such a small town. So many choices and it was all good. We ate here 4 times the week we were at Lake M. We all got different dinners each time and we were 100% happy with every single choice. Spicy chicken sandwich was insane, chicken fried stake was amazing, but I nearly passed out from happiness from the ribs. For appetizers, we got the spicy cheese curds and the smoked chicken wings (dry rub) every time. Ever after the 4th visit, we still felt we would them both again the next day! So good! We were on our way East on I-80 and stopped for dinner. Wonderful informal atmosphere with FANTASTIC food. We were introduced to locally raised Morgan Ranch Wagyu beef - sirloin steak, in fact. The steak was mouthwatering GREAT! Cooked to order and seasoned lIghtly! Accompanied by mixed veggies and some of the best smashed potatoes either of us has had anywhere.
