This was such a cute place! The food was good and our service was excellent. We had about a 35 min wait for our party of 7, which was not bad on New Years. They also accommodated my daughter's food allergies. There is parking right outside of the door. The location was in a plaza. Overall I would come back if I lived in the city. read more

My first time here while visiting. The food was amazing! I was in the mood for breakfast and mimosas. I had the French toast, eggs, and bacon. We also tried the poke appetizer and the octopus. My family enjoyed everything and we had no leftovers! The service was great. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air. The server and the manager came out to check on us several times. The interior is super cute. There's a selfie mirror and other cute lighted signs throughout the restaurant. They also have Drift merch. There's a bar inside which looked great for gathering with friends after work or on the weekend. I will definitely come back here when I'm in town. read more

Drift is a popular brunch restaurant in Myrtle Beach. They are located in the Grand Dunes Marketplace off of Highway 17, and open from 7 AM - 3 PM. My family and I stopped in a Sunday afternoon. There was a slight wait, but our table was ready ahead of time. The Duck Benedict caught my eye immediately. The dish consists of duck confit, sautéed spinach, caramelized onions, two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce served on a toasted croissant. Amazing! Best Benedict I've ever had. Drift was highly recommended to us, and I'm so glad that we took the time to visit during our 2 days in Myrtle Beach. We didn't get any coffee but our smoked salmon croissant and salmon cake burgers were delicious. Fries were nicely done too. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. read more

The menu is not traditional Southern flare, just know that up front with expectations for your party. That being said, everything on the menu my party of 4 ordered was 5 out of 5. The brunch menu has a lot of unique items, Polk nachos and Salmon burger are two to definitely give a try, but I doubt any choice would disappoint. Our Sunday morning wait time was a very expectable 10 minutes and worth the wait and effort, I would wait 30 minutes if need be, knowing the food that awaits. read more

A friend and I stopped in soon after arriving in Myrtle Beach at around 9 AM on Friday. We were immediately seated as there was no wait. Our server immediately came to our table and took our drink order which arrived quickly after which she took our food order. She was very friendly and made conversation with us. My friend and I both got different omelettes. I ordered an omelette with mushroom spinach feta and I added ham. I also got a side of fruit as my side. It also came with a side of toast. This omelette was delicious and so was the toast my friend also enjoyed her meal. Our coffees were also very good. Many times at diners, the coffee isn't very good, but it was here. I loved the decor inside of the restaurant. It was almost tropical looking. There's an outdoor patio but the weather was cold, so there was no one out there. I would highly recommend having breakfast here because the breakfast was so good, as well as probably any other meal. Amazing brunch, seating was prompt for our table of 10 and Andrea N was an amazing server. Great place for food and fun beverages!The adults all had a mermaid mimosas, the kids had the lavender haze and orange creamsicles. All amazing and fair prices. We had the ceviche and octopus bites for apps - nicely plated and delicious. Our table also had the lobster omelette, breakfast sandwich, salmon cake Benedict, bananas foster waffle, chicken and waffles, scrambler and kids muffin breakfast. Everyone left happy and full! Went here for my birthday and had the shrimp and grits with a side of French toast. The grits were so flavorful and creamy. The restaurant was packed but we waited about 35mins to be seated. The staff were very professional, quick and considerate. The restaurant had a beach vibe and had a welcoming laid back energy to it. They have wonderful mocktails as well. Food was tasty except for the grits - I honestly did not know what to make of them, but they were not grits like any that I've tasted so it was a hard no for me. Also mark them down because I was told the fruit was fresh cut every day, but clearly it was not. Not too big of a deal - it tasted okay just not what I was after. I've heard that people liked this place so I tried it. We both enjoyed what we ordered. Food was not greasy or oily and tasted very good. I had the spinach scrambler and the vegetables were fresh. And what I also liked was that the food was NOT salty. I find that a lot of food in restaurants very salty these days but not here. Service was good. It is off peak season and restaurant was not busy. With Xmas around the corner the restaurant was decorated and it was enough to feel festive. read more

This was delicious! I ordered because I haven't had a BLT in years. It has plenty bacon and avocado. As ordered, it comes on panini toast, but I requested a croissant instead. The potatoes were delicious as well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waitress mentioned that the portion may be (or seem) smaller than ordered with panini toast. I was satisfied with the portion. It was just enough. The service was great! My friends were happy with their selections with included the shrimp and grits, fried fish sandwich, and duck benedict. Glorious dining in a semi circular space lined with oversized windows filled with low, natural light from the covered courtyard-dining among subtropical landscaping. There's nothing like it on the Strand. I'm particularly sensitive to lighting and there's something special about the Drift. It's romantic naturally. The only thing that trumps the atmosphere is the food and the coffee. Does the fact that it is a scratch kitchen impress? Well, the abundance of brunch items seems limitless as well. As always, an amazing breakfast . We've come here multiple times and I have never reviewed this place. I typically get some sort of their avocado toast. The salmon and egg versions have been so delicious. Today I opted for their breakfast burrito. It was HUGE and so good. It has eggs, potatoes, choice of cheese and either sausage or bacon. I did get cheddar and sausage for my options. Two sauces were also inch it I requested it to be on the side. My friend had a supreme omelette which she raved about. Mimosa's were spot on. Shocking that there was no wait today. That's usually the only downside. read more

Overall, there are many better places to spend your money in Myrtle Beach, and unfortunately this was not one we would return to. Go to Mimosa's instead.

To the "Old World" Italian environment, kinda like Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, without the human statues that move ever so slightly, but just enough to to make you feel, something is a miss, but what??? Man, that drove me crazy. Also, you want to go here to dine because their competing Restaurants in the area feel having you wait in very long, well over an hour and a half lines, just to get in satisfies their need not to take any reservations. Hun...? Yep, they're fine having Aunt Susie's makeup looking like Mark Shostrom, the Master Makeup Artist from the horror series "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movies, put it on for her. First he...", ya know), while Mike fills the air with his sweet mellifluous musical notes floating by you for your audio pleasure, much like the feather in Forrest Gump. Their appetisers looked awesome however, this is an "Old World" Italian restaurant that offered their minestrone soup, and their Caesar salad which came with our meals, was very tasty, and paired very well with the bottle of wine from their varied, and well selected wine list, which we all shared. First, I read some of Villa Romania's great reviews on Yelp, before making a reservation, most especially, because I did not want anyone to have to repeat "THE LONG Lines" at our Fried Fish Palace, lol experience from two nights earlier. All of our entrees pictured below, were savoy, aroma enticing, tastebud thrilling, flavor forward, and exceeded all our sensory expectations which helped us all unwind while really enjoying our evening out together as it unexpectedly, evolved into an event for us all. While all their deserts sounded wonderful we were all completely full. But on our next visit, tiramisu, ice cream, and cannolis for all. So it's expensive, right? That is a great question Poindexter, but wrongo, my parsimonious friend. It was again, surprisingly affordable, and "I shall return" as General Douglas MacArthur once said. Why? Because sometimes you just can't find what will work for everyone, and that feels and tastes, just right. That's it! That is Villa Romana Restaurant, and we all were so gleeful and happy we discovered that fact in our visit to Myrtle Beach, SC. Manga... Enjoy!

A cursory search showed this lovely eatery was about 15 minutes from the ball fields and we made our GPS-led way right to it. Ish. It's very small, and it's an old house with not great signage, so my dumb a** drove right past it GPS or not. Quickly correcting my directional faux pas, we found what was, in the moment, the last available parking spot and made our way to the door. The place was packed but to our good fortune a table was getting up to leave and it was quickly cleared for us. Did I mention it's a cozy spot? From memory (which, in my case is spotty at best) I'm guessing there are less than 25 seats inside, although there is also outdoor seating so maybe forget I said that. There's plenty of room. Anyway, our server, the lovely and talented Leslie came by with coffee and water (yay to both) made a couple recco's since we were first timers and was off. Not terribly long after she returned with Fried Green Tomatoes for B squared and a Rustic Chicken Bowl (the special) for me. Both meals were outstanding! The Chicken Bowl was a schmulya of sausage gravy, fried chicken strips, waffle fries, and scrambled eggs. That's not a combo I would've considered making but dammit the dish was tasty! Sunday's games were at 1:00 PM and 3:00PM so we decided to simplify our meal search and come back here before our afternoon of baseball. We were greeted like old friends and shown to a table. The manager apologized for the table as it was small and in a busyish spot, but we weren't bothered by either. Leslie remembered our coffee orders from the day before and delivered them promptly. Our Sunday choices were a delightful Quiche for BB and Biscuits and Gravy for myself. Both great calls, although I will say the sausage patty that came with the quiche was rather salty. Lastly, let me just say here that both BB and I have restaurant history at various points in our lives. So we get what it's like dealing with the general public, what type of personality it takes to be good at the job. I also asked for the old bay on top of the hollandaise because I wanted to taste my poached egg, and that deliciously enthralling crab cake. Yea man, I am definitely a fan, because "it was a so nice", I ate it twice. While I realise that breakfast for some of us is break fast, a pop tart, or cinnamon roll and coffee. To me it sets the tone and tenner for my day. So if you want that pep in your (yea, the coffee for me, could be a little stronger but is good) step, and a song in your heart, than Johnny Dee's be the place when you want to filla ya face! Enjoy!

It was thoughtfully designed with lots of exciting and creative options that had us genuinely looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. We had a party of six, and our meals came out six different times. Multiple dishes were missing items like pancakes or eggs. When some of the food was finally corrected, the eggs were cooked over easy instead of scrambled. To top it off, one person's entrée didn't arrive until everyone else had already finished eating. Did I mention the air conditioning wasn't working? We spent the meal sweating in the South Carolina heat. The soufflé wasn't properly baked and even had pieces of eggshell in it. That was the final disappointment in what had already become a frustrating experience. To the restaurant's credit, the manager did take $10 off the bill after I asked to speak with them. However, I was hoping for a genuine conversation about what had gone so wrong rather than a token discount. This visit was a complete disappointment. It was a one-and-done experience for me.
