egg and cheese on kaiser roll

I just had to revisit this review to express that everyone should be getting these potatoes! they are crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and large portion. I eat mine with their honey mustard. Also very consistent. they are always the same!

Scrapple, egg, and cheese on a long roll

I've been meaning to go here since a friend told me they do breakfast sandwiches on a long roll. I got a Scrapple, Egg, and Cheese. It was great. The scrapple was nice and crispy which I prefer. Plus, the sandwich was a beast. You could easily eat half and be good to go (depending on your hunger level). After a long night, this is the perfect sandwich to get moving again. It's easy to miss this spot because it's located at a gas station, but don't let that fool you. If you like breakfast sandwiches, I'd definitely recommend checking this spot out. They also have a full menu of items (cheesesteaks, hoagies, quesadillas, etc). I think I'll venture back at some point and try some other things on the menu.

The best cheesesteak and sweet potatoe fries around.

WOW WOW WOW! The food is amazing! Right when I walked in the front cashier greeted me. The deli in the back was super friendly and fast! I think this is my go to new stop after work or lunch.

The bar area is beautiful, comfortable and service was excellent. The martini was on the large size, which doesn't offend me LMAO. And the beer selection also did not offend me. ;) The tuna tartare was soooo good, I could have eaten a couple of them. Taste was exceptional and really really fresh with no sinew. The fried chicken sandwich was crispy and full of flavor. I like this place after one visit and will return. Let's see if they can get that 5th star from me. We were seated and our server, Joanne gave us a quick rundown on the menu. She was very attentive and personable. Our party of four ordered the pork sandwich, the shrimp BLT, deviled eggs, the pepperoni flat bread, the meatball skillet, shrimp cocktail and French onion soup. The sandwiches were excellent and were served with perfectly cooked shoestring fries. The soup was great - plenty of cheese & bread topping delicious broth & caramelized onions. Joanne was correct when she told us the shrimp cocktail was "elevated". The grilled shrimp were marinated and perfectly seasoned. The flatbread was good, topped with a drizzle of hot honey. The deviled eggs were yummy but I would rather the bacon on top didn't have a maple flavor to it. The meatball skillet was served with toasted bread slices, hearty marinara and dollops of ricotta. The meatballs were a little dry but we enjoyed it anyway. We will definitely plan on coming back to The Fort to try new items and for another pork sandwich. Great spot!

We went for the happy hour app and drink specials for our birthdays, but because it took our server 15 minutes to come back and check on us, they wouldn't let us get the specials. (Felt intentional, like they were stalling) Our server was nice, but not attentive at all. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars if it wasnt so pricey and the service was better. We will definitely give it a weekend try, just in case it was an off night. Tip: I was not a fan of sitting in the half booth tables right by the hostess stand. It was extra dark and it felt more like where you sit while waiting for your actual table. Ask to be seated further in the dining room...it is really cool inside! Big parties can even get seated IN a birdcage!

As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted by one of the owners. It's a husband-and-wife team, which always earns bonus points in my book. I was promptly seated, given a menu, and immediately overwhelmed--in the best way--because everything sounded amazing. I ended up asking the owner for help deciding, and I'm so glad I did. I chose the chicken and dumpling soup (they rotate specialty soups weekly) and a loaded sweet potato. The soup was incredibly flavorful--slightly saltier than my personal preference, but thankfully I tasted it before adding anything. The thyme flavor really stood out and made the dish comforting and delicious. I'd absolutely recommend it if it's available when you visit. The loaded sweet potato was topped with jerk chicken, one of my favorite seasonings. You can adjust the heat, and I went with how it comes--very hot! I loved it. Spicy, bold, and full of flavor, with the sweet potato cooked to perfection. They also offer unsweetened, fresh-brewed iced tea with free refills, which is always a huge plus for me. The café itself is small, but while I was there, there was a steady flow of people coming and going--it's clearly a popular hometown spot. Everything on the menu looked fantastic, so I'll definitely be making a return trip to try something new. They serve both breakfast and lunch, and they also offer catering, which makes this spot even more appealing whether you're stopping in for a quick meal or looking to feed a group. If you're in Jenkintown, I highly recommend stopping by Welcome Home Café. You won't regret it.

From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!
