Great menu with lots of different kebabs, appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, and even family meals and combos! We went with the combo plate that had chicken and beef skewers with rice, tomatoes and pepper and a soft flat bread! We also added a side of the yogurt medley w cucumber! I'd compare this to any other kabob place in the area. The chicken and beef kabobs/koobideh were both good. Meats were tender and juicy. The lamb was juicy but a bit too charred and ended up being bitter. I forget what the eggplant dish is called. It was ok but needed a bit more flavor. Service was good. I love the food! The koobeidh kabobs are so fresh and I love there tahdig (burnt rice). I come here very often and I am very impressed with the quality, quantity and taste. The portions are good the food is fresh and the taste is spectacular, it's a good bang for your buck compared to other pricy Persian restaurants. I asked the waiter if the lamb shank was fresh, and he confirmed it was. When the lamb shank arrived, it was steaming, and the waiter emphasized its freshness because of the steam. However, while eating, I noticed that one side of the lamb shank was refrigerator cold. I had no idea how long it had been in the fridge. I decided not to mention this to the waiter since I wasn't planning to return. When I went to pay, my bill, which included the $21.99 lamb shank, an orange juice, and an ice water, totaled $41. Upon checking the receipt, I saw that I had been charged $11 for the orange juice and an additional $5.50 as a tip which he didn't even ask if I wanted to tip or not. This location use to be Texas Kabob Absolutely not... this restaurant is sketchy at best. Even their website photos of the food is deceptive. The overall atmosphere was uncleaned. A fly swatter lying next to the tea maker. The front door was left open so leaves and dirt blowing inside everywhere. The eating utensils were disgustingly dirty. This place can't decide if it's a deli or bar or night lounge. What you order may be upcharged and the food was not worth $150 for lunch! There was absolutely no one else in the restaurant so there couldn't be any confusion as to who ordered what at what table. We asked for waters and were given water bottles and no glasses (but maybe a good thing looking back) Food came out cold and tasteless. The kask o bademjan was brown eggplant slop missing mint, and the yogurt was awful. The beef and lamb were too gamey and chewy, poor quality meats and plain, no seasoned flavor. On a business trip and our team decided to all check out this place for the first time! When we first came in, it was very welcoming with a nice hello from the owner Michael. After chatting with him for a few minutes he told me he knew someone I know who runs a Mediterranean restaurant in West Covina. Small world right? We ate here as a family yesterday for Eid dinner. When we went, there was not a single customer in the restaurant. We were the only ones! The table we sat at was dirty, so we had to ask the owner to clean it. The plates given were dirty as well, so we had to ask for new ones. While we were waiting for our food, another family came in and sat down, but left 5 minutes later! The food was ok; rice was good, lamb chops were nice and soft, the chicken kabob was good. Things I ordered: koobideh beef plate boneless chicken jooje plate tongue sandwich kashkeh bademjoon (eggplant) most e museer (shallot yogurt) most o khiar (cucumber yogurt) hummus I really wanted to try different items on their menu. I have to say it was less than I expected. The chicken boneless kabob only had 5 little pieces and it was over $15. For charging that much you need to include a little more meat. The chicken had a bitter after taste. The koobideh was okay. It was nice to get 2 skewers for the $20 price tag. The rice was delicious, soft, fluffy, and buttery. Great flavor. My favorite of everything I tried. The yogurts were bland. They needed more seasoning. The most o khiar needed mint leaves and more salt and pepper or something. It needed more eshgh (love). The most o museer did not have enough shallots and was not seasoned properly either. BLAND. SOS send help. The bademjoon was very oily and under seasoned as well. It was nice they included the mint and kashk, but needs less oil and it had a bitter after taste like some of the other items I ordered. (Maybe an issue with the oil they use - try switching to avocado oil please) The hummus was super garlicy, but did not have enough lemon juice and salt. It was very thick and it was all beans and garlic. The tongue sandwich barely had any tongue. It was all onions and had way too much turmeric. You need more meat, less turmeric. Overall, this place has a lot of potential, but they really need to fine tune their recipes. I hope my constructive criticisms are put into action. Currently, there are better options for iranian food in DFW. I hope the food gets better since this place is close to my house. This is where you actually can't judge a book by its cover. Sony let's the looks of the restaurant make you judge the food. The food is AMAZING!! We ordered the family platter and the kabobs were juicy, tender, delicious, and reminded my mom of when she went to Iran and ate this food. The rice was nice and soft, buttery, and so flavorful. The char on the tomatoes and the kebabs were out of this world. We were first judging the good by looking at the restaurant, but trust me, we were wrong. My mom has been in search for this type of food that tastes the same like the kebabs and rice she ate in Iran when she was little and she claimed, "this food reminded me of my childhood when I went to Iran and it is the same, delicious, tender, juice, and fresh.
