Avocado Toast - mostly arugula with an undetectable layer of avocado.
Janet Z.

Came to this spot for brunch on a Saturday because there was a 1.5hour wait at Lemon Tree. Our group of 4 was seated right away and offered menus. The options were a little limited, but the waiter was very attentive. Nice touches included outdoor umbrellas and free house made popcorn while you wait for food, but their kitchen was seriously overrun. Took almost 30min to get our food, which was good but nothing to write home about. I expected more for an $18 for an avocado French toast, but I guess that's what brunch prices are these days. Basic breakfast had larger portion, but again nothing spectacular. Wouldn't be my first choice next time.

Great food and a fun way to celebrate a birthday! The decor is very comforting with a classy vibe that is very welcoming, with big booths and big mirrors. We had included the birthday in our group on our reservation so the staff had included a birthday sign at our table when we sat down. Salad and appetizers were fresh and had a good combination of flavors. We ended out the night with birthday donuts which were piping hot and delicious with the berry sauce!

Great happy hour snacks and drink prices in a great location downtown. Good service at the bar.

Bend, OR Downtown Bend. Come here for happy hour. The artichoke dip is ok but the chips are delicious! The wings have a honey glazed coating on the skin. You get three wings for happy hour and cost is $10. Draft is cold and refreshing. Margarita is good but way too much ice. Bartender is cheerful and friendly. They give you a small bag of popcorn when you sit down that is seasoned. Fun treat. I give this place 4.2 stars. They lost stars because you can see the kitchen prepare the food. And, the cook put chips on my plate without gloves. Later I see him wipe his nose with his sleeve. Yuck!

Very friendly servers here, great service. The menu didn't have a ton of options though. The food wasn't the best. The restaraunt is small and cute and does have a nice ambiance. I'm sure they have specialty dishes maybe we ordered the wrong thing?

Honestly, it was fair. Unfortunately our server was brand new and couldn't tell us much about the food options. Our order was brought out with the incorrect sides. The carrot hummus was the best part - delicious! The burgers were messy and good but nothing special. The dinner salad was not what I expected but decent. Beautiful outside seating and indoor as well. May need to try again and order something different.

I'd come back to Bend just to eat here. The chef and his brigade were on point and every dish they sent out was better than the last. We had the fried chicken and the burger as entrees and the the shrimp and crab toast as starters. All delicious. Cocktails were great too. Mason was our server and he was very attentive. Nice decor and the booths were very comfortable.

some kind of prawn appetizer...was awesome.

Good service, pretty good prices, nice atmosphere. Kinda of a small menu. My burger was really flavorful, only suggestion is trying/ offering a different kind of bun as the sesame bun became very soggy and fell apart half way though eating it. Maybe potato or pretzel bun? Fried prawn was incredible ! Will visit again.

Delicious, Classic and sophisticated. Drake has amazing food and its small yet very thought out menu will have everything you desire to hit the spot. Haven't had this good of a food in a very long time. Very lovely atmosphere yet chill and approachable.

Great place for lunch. I got the wedge salad and husband got fried chicken sandwich (forgot to take picture), and both were great! Service was wonderful as was the drink!

So let's preface this review with the fact that we came here several times, but this time is Christmas Eve. -- Let's start out with the good notes first. They were super backed up and the service was pretty good. We had a super nice server who was obviously overwhelmed with the amount of people, but he did great for the cards that he was handed. The food was decent for me . I had the shrimp and grits and I had smoked trout as an appetizer ..didn't enjoy it with the chips so I decided to add it to my shrimp and grits and it was a wonderful compliment. The fried chicken was the letdown today and it was our go to usually . Not only did we wait about an hour for the food, everyone next to us, got their food first even though we ordered our food first.... -- and the fried chicken is burnt so it has that burnt taste to it that throws off the flavor. Let me note that it is usually good . This particular visit was not 4 stars worthy, but I have been here on multiple other occasions and I guess I forgot to review it. It is usually a four star dine. As you can tell, I've been here multiple times, so I'll let you know if I would come back . Final rating for tonight that would be a 6.5 out of 10.

We popped in without a reservation and the kind ladies at the front said we were good to go if we could be done before all the evening reservations came in. We only wanted a drink and an app so it worked out perfectly. We tried the trout dip which we've never had anywhere before and it was delicious. I went with a Paloma and my husband had an old fashion and the drinks were awesome. We'll definitely be back to have dinner sometime.

One of the many great mixed drinks on the menu!

Overall happy, a bit crowded and with minimal staffing these days things were a bit slow. Food was excellent and the drinks were cold.

The atmosphere is rustic, cozy, and a little exclusive, which made it a really unique spot to grab a drink! We stopped in right after checking into our hotel, and it was the perfect first stop to kick off our weekend. There isn't a ton of seating, but you can choose between the cozy indoor space or the patio in the alley. Since there were only two of us, we were seated right away. If you're looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a quick glass of wine or a cocktail before exploring the rest of the town, I'd definitely recommend stopping by here. It's a charming spot with great vibes!

Follow the alley. Trust me…read more You know those places you stumble into and immediately think, "Yep...this is my kind of spot"? That was San Simón for me. At first, walking down the alley in downtown Bend, I honestly was not sure what we were about to find. Then we started seeing little fire pit pods, heated huts, glowing candles, and people tucked away having cocktails. It instantly felt cool without trying too hard. Walking into San Simón felt like stepping into some funky speakeasy hidden in plain sight. Dark lighting, moody atmosphere, David Bowie playing in the background, wild artwork on the walls that makes you stop and stare for a second. Just a great vibe all around. The kind of place where you sit down and immediately relax into the evening. The cocktails were excellent. Not overdone, not syrupy, just really balanced and well made. One of our favorites was the "Some Positive Feedback," which came with this sugar rim that looked awesome and added just enough sweetness without overpowering the drink. Bright citrus flavor, refreshing, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. Then we asked the bartender if they could just make us something off the cuff. We said vodka, lemon and lime forward, not too sweet, maybe a little spice. They absolutely nailed it. Crisp, refreshing, layered citrus flavor with just enough heat on the back end to keep it interesting. Honestly one of those cocktails where everybody at the table takes a sip and immediately goes, "Oh wow." As a bourbon guy, I was also pleasantly surprised with the whiskey selection. The bartender recommended Stafford's Reserve, an Oregon bourbon, and I am glad I listened. Smooth, approachable, a little sweet up front with some spice on the finish. Easy sipping bourbon that fit the whole vibe of the place perfectly. What really made the night though was the staff. Everybody was friendly in that genuine way where you feel welcomed instead of "served." By the end of the night it honestly felt like we had been there before, even though it was our first visit. The outdoor setup deserves some love too. Bend cooled down at night, but the fire pits and heaters kept everything comfortable. We could have easily stayed another couple hours just hanging out. Pricing felt fair for the quality of drinks and atmosphere. This is not a dive bar pretending to be fancy. It is a genuinely cool cocktail spot that knows exactly what it is. If you are in Bend and enjoy craft cocktails, bourbon, cool music, quirky atmosphere, and places with personality, go find San Simón. Half the fun is finding it tucked down the alley in the first place.

The barbecue shrimp was stupid good. Like... if the sauce was available, I would buy it by the jar. It was everything you want. Rich with deep flavors, the right amount of creole seasoning and creaminess. I was told by the bartender that I should definitely try it. I was torn because I wanted to try so many things. It was kinda late as we were at an evening conference event, and after a short wait, we were seated! Crowded and late is usually a good sign. We ordered some great cocktails to start and a Cajun BBQ Shrimp Appetizer. The cocktails were great and unique, but the BBQ Shrimp was amazing. It's not like being in New Orleans, but it's pretty close! And you better believe that plate went back to the kitchen spotless!!! That BBQ sauce was bomb, which means good apparently. For some reason, we switched out waitresses halfway through, which made tipping awkward. However, each was funny and friendly in different ways. That's always a plus when you've been on the road for 10 days or so and are feeling the wear and tear on travel and bougie food. For Entree's, he ordered a salad which looked amazing, and I ordered the blackened redfish and swapped the sides for fries and carrots. The fries were absolutely amazing, as was the redfish. So good... I wish the carrots were mushier (more mushy?). That's a personal preference. Waitress #2 highly recommended the carrot cake and assured us she wouldn't pass judgment on two dudes sharing dessert. I'm glad she did as it was one of the lightest and best carrot cakes I've ever had. And the carrots WERE mushy here. Then she had the entire kitchen staff come out and laugh at us for sharing (ok, she didn't, but that would have been classic). I enjoyed my time in Bend and this place would be on my list for a repeat visit if I'm ever here again. Loved it!
