2nd review correct rating, typi my error. I had an outstanding experience with Drains Great - Metropolitan Drain Cleaning. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. They responded quickly to my residential plumbing issue and arrived exactly when promised. The work was completed with a high level of professionalism and thorough attention to detail. They were very methodical in diagnosing the problem, performing a careful root cause analysis before beginning any repairs. Their knowledge was impressive - they clearly explained the situation and took the time to answer lots of questions. It's rare to find such a combination of timeliness, skill, and genuine care for the customer. I highly recommend Drains Great to anyone looking for reliable and expert plumbing services. I called Metropolitan Drain Cleaning to fix a sink drain clog that was so deep that a snake couldn't hit it. He gave me an estimate range based on how long it would take and stayed within that estimate. During the process, it required him to open and drain an access point in the drain line. He did this particularly cleanly with no damage to the paint or the wall, which I appreciated. Overall, I would use him again. read more

I spoke with John about an intermittent issue(flow sensor) I have been having with my Navien tankless water heater. John spent about 10 min with discussing the issue with me. He provided some thoughts on what he might do to troubleshoot the issue. He confirmed my correct efforts to DIY troubleshoot the intermittent issue. He felt the issue was not a plumbing issue but an appliance issue. He encouraged me to contact Navien and ask them to help troubleshoot and obtain additional parts for the appliance. He was transparent in saying he didn't have the skillsets, at this time, to fix the issue and suggested other plumbers may try to troubleshoot, but I would have to pay a lot of money for the troubleshooting. We ended the conversation with John again encouraging me to contact Navien. I contacted Navien and they assisted with the troubleshooting to determine the intermittent issue was probably caused by a faulty primary controller board and Navien is shipping me another pcb. I am awaiting the part shipment and hopefully, this will solve the issue. I am very impressed with John's willingness to solve problems. He didn't charge anything for his time, but he built a relationship with me, and I am thankful. We are all looking for honest, transparent and hardworking contractors to help with home repairs. If you are considering GMD you should proceed with John and his company. I have no doubt he will do a great job for you. PS: Steer clear of Navien tankless water heaters. In the 1.6 years I've had the tankless water heater, I've had to replace the water sensor and the primary controller board. Navien should be ashamed of themselves for such a poor product. read more

No more Liquid Plumber for me! My bathtub drain was regurgitating nasty particles. After several months I decided enough was enough and I found John on Yelp. This was a maintenance issue yet John came over the same day I called him and not only took care of my problem he educated me on a variety of "how- to's" during my remodeling process. The very best part is that I now have a "lifetime plumber" that is honest, reasonable, does great work and reliable. I can't ask for more. read more

I had a frozen then ruptured pipe that lead to an external spigot. John had a solid estimate. He was able to fit me in quickly, within 24h, even for this non-urgent fix. He then did a great job with the work, explaining it to me throughout. The price was very reasonable considering the annoying/difficult nature of this specific job. I would hire him again for any future plumbing needs. read more

They were unable to clear a super simple clogged toilet. They went a head and charged me $200 and told me "We don't guarantee results but we do guarantee we will bill you" read more

John has been a great plumber to work with, he is always available and goes out of his way to meet his customer's needs. He is very friendly and great to work with. We had a leak soon after he came to fix another issue and he graciously covered it under his warranty without charging us to come back and diagnose a new issue. Thanks so much for your help, John. I look forward to working with you in the future! read more

Metropolitan Drain Cleaning rocks!!! I texted John at 10 pm with an issue with my sewer drain being clogged (roots getting into the pipes). John managed to come early in the next morning. That was a blesssing since we could not use any water in the house, flush or take a shower... He did an amazing job (as usual). The clog is gone. Our pipes are clean. It was fast and efficient. It is always a huge relief when you find a great professional who can come to your house quickly, do a fantastic job and for a decent price. I cannot recommend John and his company more. read more

This was my first experience with hiring a plumber. I spent a bit of time reading through reviews and made a few requests for quotes and finally chose Metropolitan Drain Cleaning. The price John quoted seemed fair and he sounded like a straight shooter on the phone. All I needed was the hot water supply valve and hose to the faucet under my kitchen replaced. Seemed easy enough. He arrived for our appointment early which was cool but everything started going south after that. We were unable to locate the water shut off to the house and even though I suggested we wait and reschedule, he went ahead and kept messing with things. Within moments the hot water heater supply started spraying water to which the MASTER PLUMBER started freaking out yelling OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH SHIT! OH MY GOD! ... and this pretty much paints the picture of how the next two hours went. We won't even get into the repeated mansplaining and trash-talking.. A hysterical master plumber screaming and yelling all over my house, my cat out somewhere in the neighborhood, I am in a full-on anxiety attack in tears, he charged me full price (at almost twice the original quote over the phone) AND left dirt all over my counter and floors. *and the supply under my kitchen STILL LEAKS* It took him almost a week to cash the check..and I thought maybe he realized what a HORRIBLE experience it was and was just going to not cash it. I wasn't going to write a review, and just forget this man violated my trust and my home and charged me for it, but since this morning the check cleared.. here we are. :( Update: 11/16 - now the hot water supply is leaking as well..and he tried to bribe me to change the review read more

Drains Great - Is this how Metropolitan Drain Services gets its great reviews? - Plumbing Near Me - Aurora, Colorado

Honest, competent, quick to respond, conscientious. Best drain and sewer cleaning company I've ever used. In the past - other guys have come in with not much more than a snake that I can get at Home Depot. I'm not sure they effectively removed the roots from the pipe?? However John has the latest technology, video cameras and always does an amazing job. John Beyond the call of duty helped out on a Friday evening when we were freaking out when sewer gases were bombing a friend's property. Highly recommended! read more

After replacing a pressure valve in my water heater, the water inlet hose started leaking out of the fitting. Unfortunately whoever installed the water heater initially had soldered one end of this hose and I was not comfortable trying to fix that. Contacted John and sent some pictures to give him an idea what the issue was. John came out and handled it in no time. Would definitely recommend and will keep his number for my plumbing needs read more

John was a pleasure to work with! He was able to come the very next day. Love a quick turnaround time! He also checked in after to make sure all repairs were still working. Highly recommend! read more

John was excellent. I have never used a plumber before but we have a drain back up and water was coming out. I called john even though it was 8 pm and explained the issue. He throughly explained what he thought the issue was and assured us it's not a big deal. He promptly came the next morning and solved it in no time. He was kind, courteous, fair and professional. 100% would recommend. Honestly thought he could've charged us more. read more

The owner did work for us on a drain and the job was excellent. The second time we called to have toilets fixed and a shower nozzle replaced, he sent his employee who installed the wrong parts for everything. Each thing he "supposedly" fixed broke within a week to several months after. He even installed the wrong toilet handle after asking us how we wanted it to face. The shower nozzle was not properly affixed and came off in our hands the second time we used the shower. My husband called to talk with the owner in a calm voice to explain the problems and John, the owner, was quite nasty. read more

Even though *I* wasn't the greatest customer (my phone texting was filled up so they couldn't text when they were on their way, and I didn't pick up when they tried to call, lol), Metropolitan Drain Cleaning was very prompt to send Tim out today to fix my leaky toilet. I called this morning, and the job was done about 3 hours later! Did the job very well and I am happy!! read more

Fast forward 1 year since last clean out and once again John has delivered. I called at 10:30ish am and John was here by 1:00 pm , fitted us in. Main line blockage , he brought the machine in and ran it to the street a couple of times and all clear. We do think blockage had to do with them flushable wipes. Wipes don't breakdown. I forgot to write a review back in March/April for I believe was a 1 way valve thing for the sprinkler system. John has always treated us fairly , he will always have our business. Thanks again. I forgot to post this review back a year ago or so , I'll just add to it. As always John came to the rescue. I called on a Friday and told John our problem, he talk to my husband and John tried talking my husband through an unplug, but it wasn't working. We told John we could get by until Monday. John squeezed us in for a main line clean out. As always is always a lot of help and he will always have our business for any plumbing needs. Thanks again read more

John is great! I had an issue in a rental property that needed to be attended to right away and he fit me into his schedule ASAP. I called Metropolitan Drain Cleaning looking for some help to clear a clogged drain on a Saturday afternoon and while John couldn't come out that day, he talked me through what he'd likely need to do after I texted him a few pictures. He was able to get out to help me the following working day, got the drain cleared quickly, and explained a little bit about the mechanics of what was going on. I'll be calling them for any future plumbing needs! read more

I had a very stubborn problem, but John did a great job and really stuck with it until completion. In the meantime, I learned a lot about plumbing and will only need to tap into him for big issues. Thanks John! read more

I highly recommend this company! I had a clogged shower drain and had to get to work. Called them on a Friday at 10am, they arrived at 11! John is so professional and personable, I would give him 5 stars on that alone. But, it didn't take the entire billable hour to complete, so he did some work on a toilet to make sure I got my hour's worth! Who does that these days? What a great company! read more

John stayed in close touch as his prior job took longer than expected. He gave play by play summary of current status as he and Jerome were doing the drain clean out in our 83 year old house, and explained what we were seeing when he scoped the pipe after cleaning. Clearly an expert in his service. Worth every dollar. We will hire him again for regular preventive maintenance. First class. read more

This is the second time we've had John and Metro Drain Cleaning out to our home (completely separate issues). We had a leaky old faucet needing to either be cleaned (calcification) or be replaced, and John was able to swing by same day to take a look, offer a solution and finish the job. I greatly appreciated his flexibility and responsiveness via phone/text. He is reasonably priced, a friendly face, and actually tries to save you some money if you're willing to heed his advice/tutelage. Wouldn't hesitate to utilize his services again in the future. read more

I've hired John to clear a drain twice now and have been pleased with his level of service. He's chatty, funny and happy to educate without judgement. He didn't mind working around a mess and completed the job quickly. Easy to schedule over text and was able to meet my availability. read more

Great job. Emergency situation and John helped me out the same day. I appreciated his professionalism and he did great quick work.

John came out on the same day I called about a clogged kitchen sink. He was quick, reliable, friendly and charged what he quoted over the phone. My drain is clear, and he even cleaned out my garbage disposal! Highly recommended! read more

John is amazing! I can honestly say that he blew me away when I least expected it. I was given his name as a referral from a coworker because of the great work he did and how knowledgeable he is at his trade. Not only did he save me a ton of money, he was kind enough to guide me through the steps to fix something that was actually quite simple...and all over the phone. Most companies would have taken every opportunity to charge the maximum amount, but not John. He was very upfront about what the charges would have been but since I seemed to have a little bit of brains, he had no problem encouraging me to fix it myself. He most definitely has to be one of the most honest people I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I can hands-down say that I would recommend him to anyone with a plumbing need...especially if you live near the south Aurora area. read more

When our shower drain backed up, we called John. He and Zeke came the same day, went right to work, unclogged the drain and then explained what had caused the problem. They were friendly, professional, honest and efficient -- and their fee was very reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more

Hire Metro whenever you can. Our leaking kitchen faucet needed to be replaced. While John was at a Rockies game with his family during the Fourth of July, he texted us the faucet we needed to buy. He came by within two days and installed it, and he charged a reasonable hourly fee with no major parts charge. This job was the 4th time I've used Metro. Their pricing has always been transparent. And their services has always been responsive, competent, and quick. read more

If you want to wait a week for them to tell you it will be another week then this is the place for you! They don't schedule appointments so you are at their whim to when things get done. I had a drain clog and called on the Saturday of a three day weekend. John, the owner, was going out of town but agreed to fix it on Tuesday. He was able to understand exactly what was going on over the phone and gave me some directions on how I could try to fix it myself. I was not able to fix the problem, so John and his assistant came on the Tuesday and quickly fixed the problem. They also made sure a nearby floor drain was also clear and gave me instructions on how to prevent this happening in the future. I am very pleased with his services and would recommend his company strongly. He is not the cheapest option but I think it was well worth using his company. read more
