Drain Guard was so efficient and knew just how to get the leak fixed. I hired them through my home warranty company, First American. Our leak was a bit of a problem in the upstairs master bath sink and Joseph didn't just leave with the problem not handled; he went the distance with such a great attitude. Very professional. Thank you. Art was wonderful as well when I spoke with him on the phone. He honored our warranty problem as stated in the original work order and also went the distance...and this was on a Saturday. Thank you Joseph for following through with our problem. Thank you Art for having such a professional service man in Joseph. 5 stars! Calabasas customer. :) read more

First American Home assigned Drain Guard Plumbing to unclog my toilet. Alan and Vic got to work immediately and quickly unclogged it. Very knowledgeable and attentive and made sure everything was in working order before leaving. Both guys were very nice and professional. Highly recommend them. read more

ART IS THE MAN!!! Absolutely amazing service! I had a serious sewer issue and they came out quickly, diagnosed the problem right away, and got everything fixed properly. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain exactly what was going on and what needed to be done. The crew worked efficiently, kept everything clean, and made what could have been a huge headache completely stress-free. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about doing the job right the first time. It's hard to find honest, reliable plumbers you can trust, but these guys definitely earned my business. If you're dealing with a sewer or plumbing problem, I highly recommend giving them a call. 5-star service from beginning to end! read more

From the start I was given professional service. Not only were they helpful in answering my questions but they also explained in detail what needs to be done and what they were going to do to resolve the issue. They got here on time and were quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend them to all of my family and friends. read more

great service highly recommend! Very quick to respond and highly efficient. Would definitely call back if I had any problems in the future.

UPDATE: After they left, I contacted a local plumber on my own (not through the home warranty). They arrived promptly, immediately located the cleanout--right behind the wall outside, exactly where Drain Guard claimed to have checked--and resolved the entire issue within 30 minutes using a standard snaking procedure. The contrast in professionalism and competence was night and day. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Sent by my home warranty and it was a waste of time. The technician showed up with an attitude, was dismissive, and did absolutely nothing to help with the issue. Drain Guard claimed the only way to resolve it is to install a new cleanout. No effort, no explanation, just rude and unprofessional from the start. After reading other reviews, it's clear this is a pattern. Would never use this company again--even if it's covered. Avoid if you can. read more

Drain Guard Plumbing and Rooter - After reading other reviews, it's clear this is a pattern. - Plumbing Near Me - Granada Hills, California

BE VERY CAREFUL with this company, RUN away. They were hired by our home warranty company to come look at our running bathtub faucet. The bath was working PERFECTLY and the issue was just the running water that would drip. They came and removed the KNOB and now we can not even bathe our 6 month old. We called them and said Why did you remove the knob please bring it and screw it back in they said sorry you we can't and blocked me. I will make sure they do not hurt innocent victims again. This will be the start of me going after them BREAKING something that was fixed and then telling insurance it was already broken. ALL LIES read more

Drain Guard Plumbing and Rooter was assigned our call from our home warranty company - FAHW. I submitted my claim around 5pm on a Friday. They promptly called back, even over the weekend, to schedule our call for Monday morning. The plumber showed up at the beginning of the scheduled window and was friendly, taking care of multiple issues quickly and efficiently. He even helped with 2 issues that weren't even part of the service call - he didn't fix the actual problems, but they were outside his scope and he referred me where to get the parts from. This may have been the best vendor ever sent out on a home warranty call. You can tell Ara is customer focused and cares. I would not hesistate to call Draing Guard Plumbing and Router again in the future. read more

Like many others, we were referred through FAHW. The good; they arrived quickly and prioritized our repair since we had an active leak. They told us exactly what needed to happen and handled the paperwork with first American within the same day. They also referred us to a mold company to ensure the leak hadn't caused any additional damage. The bad; Art insisted we needed $1000 worth of code upgrades in addition to the work that was covered. When we asked for clarification on what exactly those upgrades were and he just literally refused to explain it to us outside of a very generic text We ended up taking the payout and replacing our system with a new tankless using another company. I am sure they do fine work outside of first American claims, but that was not our experience. read more

The worst Customer Service ever. Runaway never work with this company. So rude. I would never recommend this for anyone. They should be out of business. It's a scam. Very very rude. read more

1) Missed an appointment. 2) Denied our claim through FAHW, contradicting their own inspection. I've worked with FAHW for over a decade on a dozen properties. These contractors were extremely inexperienced (not to mention rude), told me there was something wrong with the turbine or the water flow sensor and that one or both needed to be replaced, that they would request authorization to replace the unit, then told First American something completely different so as to deny my claim in its entirety. I will be submitting a complaint to both the department of insurance and the contractor's board based on the evidence. read more

Scheduled service through home warranty. Active water leak. No answer for half a day. When "Art" finally picked up, he said he was cancelling the order because we called too many times. Then he said, "I should not even be talking to you. Good luck finding someone else on a Sunday." read more

Drain Guard Plumbing and Rooter - Text "Good Luck" - Plumbing Near Me - Granada Hills, California

Absolutely outrageous. I doubt they are even a real company and definitely not legal and license plumbers. They will try to extort you for cash repair and give you the most outrageous cash price for any additional repair. They seem to only be dispatched by the terrible home warranty company American Home Shield and they are as shady as AHS. Run if they are coming to your home. Do Not Use read more

Allen was fantastic! I cannot thank him enough for his timeliness, industriousness, and for taking initiative with solutions. He set reasonable expectations and then knocked it out of the park. They were my assigned technicians when I did a home warranty repair request, but because of the service I received, I have no doubt that I will contact them directly in the future should I have any plumbing needs and I'll definitely be sharing his card with friends when they need something. read more

COMPANY. If I could rate them negatively, I would. The technician I dealt with was terrible. My garbage disposal was broken, and my Home Warranty Company referred them. Worst choice ever. The technician installed a cheap garbage disposal that was loud and stopped working the next day. He was rude to my tenant during the installation and rude to me when I called to report the issue and ask for a follow-up to assess the problem. Getting the follow-up scheduled took forever because they stopped responding to me, and I had to have my warranty company contact them. BUT THE WORST is I posted a review on their site today, and the technician texted me directly, bombarding me with questions about my review, and was completely unprofessional. STAY AWAY. They are not worth the heartache, and they do poor work. I posted a screenshot of the text message. DO NOT USE THEM!! read more

We had a leak in our garbage disposal and our home warranty company, First American Home Warranty, assigned the issue to Drain Guard Plumbing. Alan was our service tech and from the moment he arrived, it was such a pleasant experience. The work was done quickly and efficiently and the repair was completed in record time. Alan was also a really nice guy, which definitely made the process go smoothly. I can't thank you enough, Drain Guard! And shout out to Alan for doing such a great job. read more

This is the first time I have been impressed with a plumbing company referred by the Home Warranty Company. These guys came out right away, were on time, completed the job within 1 hour, and left everything running smoothly. I like them so much, I have saved their info and plan on using them for other Non Home Warranty items for my personal and other rental properties. read more

Used them through AHS and they were great! Came in the arrival time window, sent a text when they were en route (highly appreciated), and resolving the issue. They even had to leave and return because they didn't have the part and, before you knew it, viola, it was done! There were 2 techs, one was Alan, the main guy was friendly and nice. Respected that we don't wear shoes in the house. Efficient work! Had to just pay for the service call since it was covered under AHS. Thanks, guys! read more

Normally, when you get a referral from American Home Shield, it is questionable at best, but Drain Guard was a happy departure from the norm. Ara responded to my house and quickly diagnosed my problem, sewer line repair. The repair, which was not covered under my policy, no big surprise, was reasonably priced and was repaired in a professional manner. His team was clean and cleaned up after they were done. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

drain guard plumbing and Rooter was sent to me from American home shield home Warranty. They wanted $1400 to replace a shower valve. I was able to get it done for $380. Do not trust these plumbers and get a second opinion. They were trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. read more

This is second time home warranty sends the same incredibly rude " plumber" . First time did not even looked at the job but marked as completed and left. Had to hire my own. Now second time around he was acting very improper, overtly agressive. I would never hire him again. Did not do the job and left again. I am done with home warranty questionable service read more

Alan and Vic were prompt, courteous and efficient. Their service call was on time and issue was resolved quickly.

I was assigned this contractor to unclog a toilet. Although the gentleman was nice he did not solve the problem stating that he could not remove the toilet to do the work. Nowhere in my contract, it states that. After the issue was closed as unresolved I ended up fixing it myself because they asked to charge us outside of my home warranty. Luckily it was an easy fix and sealed the toilet myself. Unfortunately, contractors like this exist and be aware if they are assigned to you. Request for someone else! read more
