I was referred to Dragon Heating and Air by my neighbor. I asked them to look into a complaint from my renter that the A/C wasn't cooling enough in the 100+ temperatures. Joe was very thorough in analyzing the HVAC system, finding nothing wrong and indicating that the renter should consider changing the filter more often. He noted that the coolant was just a bit low, and I decided to put another pound. Throughout the service, Joe was courteous and thorough. I never felt that I was being oversold or being overcharged. All the costs were quoted up front with no surprises. Prices were reasonable as well. Dragon Heating and Air will be my go-to for any other HVAC work of my properties. Thanks Joe! read more

Joe provided an incomparable service to our family and went above and beyond to help solve a recurring problem when other companies had given up on us. We were preparing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on an entirely new unit when Joe, after hours and hours of service and research on our behalf, identified an error that occurred when our home was built and caused our entire system to fill up with dust. I cannot tell you how grateful we are to Joe for saving our family tens of thousands of dollars and for taking the time to find the problem. He was diligent and determined. His professionalism and his subject-matter knowledge was unmatched. I have recommended him to all my neighbors and will now ONLY use Dragon Heating and Air for any future needs. THANK YOU JOE!!!!!!! read more

Joe and his team installed a 1.5 ton mini split to cool/heat our garage. He was very thoughtful in his recommendation on what size to go with and location for install. He took the time to explain every detail and answered every question we had on where the best location should be based on our layout and specific needs. His electrician recommendation was also able to do the work on the same day and everything was complete within 3 hours. Highly recommend Joe for all your AC heating and cooling needs. read more

Fantastic service! Joe was extremely professional, helpful and affordable! He made sure to diagnose the problem at the most cost affordable option first! He was also extremely thorough and checked all our vents and even our attic! Will be calling him for all our A/C needs! read more

They were fast, professional and efficient. Joe took the time to thoroughly assess my problems and explained my options, suggesting the simplest fix. What amazed me was that Dragon was the third company to come out and the only ones able to fix. He is very considerate and trustworthy. Dragon has earned a new customer for life! read more

I could write a book about my very positive experience with Dragon Heating and Air, but I'd rather you not pass my recommendation because it's too long, so I'll cut right to the chase. When my AC couldn't keep up with the heat last summer, we called out a certified dealer. We were told there was nothing wrong with our unit but explained that our builder undersized our unit, then they dropped the bomb: they could replace our unit...for $12,000. Needless to say, we suffered the heat last year but decided to get another opinion this year. Enter Joe from Dragon Heating and Air. He listened to what I had to say, used it as a starting point to begin troubleshooting, then followed his instincts to walked through troubleshooting steps methodically until he found the issue: bad coils. It was late afternoon, but he went and got the parts and came back early evening, working until 8-ish to make sure we had AC overnight. So I have to give Joe and A+ for his technical skills, and A++ for his professionalism, and give his dad an A+++ for the customer service skills Joe said his dad taught him. There's nothing better than learning good old fashioned customer service skills honed and practiced in a family business. Oh...And I didn't pay $12,000 for an unneeded new unit. I only paid for the initial check and the labor to install the coils. I couldn't be happier. Thank you, Joe! read more

Joe is a true professional. He came and gave an estimate on venting some bathroom exhaust vents for me in an older home I just purchased. Without my asking, he also did a full inspection of my HVAC system and gave me advice on how to maintain it. We just had the estimated work done to the vents and he spent extra time ensuring that the fan I purchased was installed properly in every way. He also made sure he cleaned the workspace and showed me the work that he did to ensure I was satisfied. It really is a pleasure to find someone who takes pride and diligence in their work and is friendly and responsive. Highly recommend for all your HVAC needs. read more

I am trying to sell my home and an Inspector advised that my HVAC wasn't working properly. Kinda came as a shock to me, since it had been cooling perfectly. As always, I contacted Jose Mondragon of Dragon Heating & AC in Kyle, TX. 210-875-3445. He is my "go to" HVAC expert. He is always honest, reliable and quick to respond. He did so today on 06/15/2023, and I just called him yesterday afternoon. He checked out the entire system, including but not limited to, the drain, coils, wiring, filters, and outside compressor. He tested for Freon (I know it's called something else, but I'm old school) and it is cooling perfectly. The Inspector didn't let the AC do its job by only trying it out on a hot day for 30 minutes. You need more time for a substantial cool down. You can't go wrong with Dragon Heating and AC. Call them for an free estimate. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jose -- again he is very responsive and honest. read more

I can't say enough great things about Joe and his Dad! We have purchased a new AC from them a few years ago as well as a new hot water heater. They've replaced our dampeners this week when we had very little heat blowing out. I called and within half an hour the call was returned and they came by that evening, ordered the parts and installed in a few days. Whatever they quote they honor. List the pilot light to our water heater last night. Called this morning before they opened left a message and they returned the call within 20 minutes. They gave me a time estimate of arrival today and got here exactly on time, fixed the issue and didn't charge us a dime!! They truly take care of their customers! They are the real deal! Please use them for all your heating and air needs! read more

That absolute best service! Our AC stopped working last week while it was 100 degrees everyday. We called our home warranty company, they sent someone out after waiting 2 days, that company couldn't help us. Said it would be next week before we could get repair/replacement. UNACCEPTABLE! My husband called Dragon, they showed that day, fixed the problem within just a few hours. My whole family clapped when the AC turned back on. Call this company, they are fantastic! I have given their number to all my work colleagues and friends. Thank you! read more

Husband and I were referred to Joe and his team by our handyman are so impressed and thankful...everything one wants in service, product knowledge and competence. We signed up for today's equivalent of our 28 year old Lennox system, which was adequate but in need of updating versus risking it another summer. Installation began at 9 am and they were finished by 2...wow! Joe didn't have to, but went above and beyond by getting us a free upgrade to the top of the line model through a promotion by Lennox...wow again! They take care of every detail and clearly have passion for doing great work and providing top of the line service. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Nothing but a totally positive experience from start to finish. Couldn't recommend more! read more

For the second summer in a row, I've had Joe out to my house for regular maintenance and a system check on our HVAC system. Both times, he was communicative, prompt, and thorough in explaining everything that he was doing so that I would understand how to best avoid needing maintenance in the future! Hands down, Joe has made a lifetime customer out of me due to his excellent customer service and quality results! The house is cooler and the unit is running better, with just a little TLC from Joe and his team! read more

Had our attic coils fail in the hottest part of September. Called and had them out super fast to trouble shoot before finding the problem. Cost was less to replace than others I talked to with the same issue previously thar used another company. Unmatched service in my opinion. read more

Dragon has been our go to HVAC firm for several years. Joe does an awesome job and is very responsive. Recently we had a little problem with our system and he was unable to come to due high demand and the COVID-19 lock down. So, Joe worked with me via phone to diagnose and fix the problem via phone. He directed me on what exactly to do and I was able to get it done myself. Joe did this on his own initiative, responding to my texts and directing me of next steps, for several hours early Wednesday morning. He did not charge me and even called to follow-up the next day! This is a highly-focused, customer service fmaily business and I can't say enough good things about Joe and Dragon Heating & Air. Highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC sales or service in the greater Austin area! read more

They were great! Called them today because our upstairs unit stopped cooling and they were able to come by within 2 hours to get it fixed on the spot. First, he asked to help diagnose the issue, asked for pictures, so they can set up expectations with us. Then, they gave us an arrival timeframe. Joe also gave immediate price details over the phone so that we're prepared based on the initial over the phone diagnoses. We live in the Bee Cave area so we were happy that he could make it out here. With all the virtual learning and work from home... Joe was very helpful and understanding of our situation... And as an added bonus - he speaks Spanish so it was greatly appreciated... we're a three-generation household and my parents' first language is Spanish... So having him explain it to my dad in Spanish was an added bonus, so I can continue with my work meetings. Thank you so much! read more

tenant notified me on Friday night at 6:30 AC was not working. Called a couple of companies with no answer. Joe answered phone and said he was at his last appointment for the day, but he would stop by and check unit. Came in a van that was stocked with parts and tools and had unit running in about 45 minutes for a very fair price. great company! read more

Amazing! Joe and his team did outstanding work! We just moved into this home from Houston and knew a new system would be needed inside and out. As soon as we noticed the air was a bit warmer than I should be, he came out and we had a new system within a week. He also showed us what we can do to keep the system running perfectly. They didn't do the job to get in and out, actually took time to educate me and said he said he would come back. Thanks Joe!! read more

Joe was able to squeeze me in on short notice because we're in the option period of buying a house and needed a quick HVAC inspection. He was on time, thorough, and made sure that I understood everything that he explained to me so that I know what I'm getting into. He came highly recommended by a friend and I would now highly recommend him to anyone I know who needs service. Joe made it clear that he wanted to get me what I needed now and in the future while being MORE than fair with pricing. This wasn't your usual service company who wanted to charge outrageous prices for every tiny little item. Could not recommend him enough. read more

I had an AC tune up from Strand Brothers I had called from a flyer that was on my door. Big mistake not checking them out on Yelp. After my tune up was quoted $1600 worth of repairs needed. My system was working when they came and not working when they left. A friend recommended Joe of Dragon Heating and Air. He came promptly checked the system out and found a wire had been knocked loose. He will now be the company I will recommend in the future. read more

I recently installed a mini-split for my garage and needed an a/c expert to help cut, re-solder, recharge the line even though it was a DIY unit. It came with 25' of line and it really only needed to be 8' for my install. Joe and (father) Joe did a great job. They were very attentive to what I cared about and did a great job making it both functional and visually appealing. Typically, my experience is that the job is done, but the attention to detail is lacking. Not with Dragon Heating & Air. Top to bottom they did a great job and I'd highly recommend them. read more

Absolutely the BEST!! Dragon Heating & Air was referred to me over 10 years ago and there has never been a need to shop pricing or use anyone else since! I am realtor here in Austin and can tell you that Joe has gone above and beyond for all of my clients, my family and for my personal homes. They offer exceptional customer service, reasonable and affordable pricing not just on maintaining the systems but actually replacing them and they ALWAYS make sure we are taken care of as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor and save their number for when the time comes...they are absolutely fantastic!!! read more

My heater went out. I called Joe and he came out. We thought we solved the problem. I did not turn on the heater for several days, but when I did, I still had the same problem. I called Joe again, and he came out ran several tests. We located the problem. After much discussion with Joe and weighing my options, I decided to put in a new system, since the one I currently had was close to 15 years old. I found his pricing to be very fair and reasonable. I'm loving my new system and am warm! I will not use any other company for my HVAC needs. Dragon is the company to call. BTW, I was told to register my units with Lenox, which I have always expected to be the responsibility of the owner. Thank you Joe for your service! Desiree read more

Stay away from this corrupt and unethical company . The owner, José Mondragon, is corrupt and unethical. He installed two ac systems in my new house. He did not install emergency water drain pipes on either unit. He also did nor install emergency over water floats sensors and did not put the bleach line pipe to bleach units. He installed one unit in the wrong room and blamed me for it and changed me an additional $1500 just to move it. He did not register my unit nor did he tell me to do it so I could get warranty. My units broke down five years later because all of this and the pan flooded. No way for me to prevent this since he did not put outside drain lines and over flow sensors required by city code. I had to replace the unit and cost me $4000 just because of his negligence. read more

We worked with Joe and his team to get a new furnace and AC system installed at our recently purchased home in Austin. We received a quote for the work quickly, and Joe was incredibly friendly and responsive. He was able to answer all questions we had about the logistics of the system in a way that was easy to understand. The whole team was legitimately so excited for us to get our new system installed, and it was great to know that everyone cared so much about the work they were doing. This alone would have been enough for a 5 star review, but after we had some problems with a separate electrician a few days later, Joe came out after hours to make sure that our system was back up and running properly. We would 100% recommend using Dragon Heating & Air for any HVAC needs! read more

Thanks for coming out and taking a look at our uint. These guys are very responsive and will do as they say.

Our central AC went out over a year ago. I ended up seeing a sign for this company and decided to give them a call.
