Quick and easy. Menu is normal takeout. Fried rice was not really good. Will likely try somewhere else before going back.

This review is for Sun's Kitchen, tucked down near LoSo/Lower South End, and let me tell you --…read morethese dan dan noodles absolutely hit the spot. I was in one of those "I need noodles immediately" moods, and Sun's Kitchen did not disappoint. I called my order in for takeout, and everything was packed perfectly. No leaks, no mess, still hot when I got home, and the portion was surprisingly generous for the price. The dan dan noodles here are rich, savory, a little spicy, and incredibly comforting. If you're not familiar with them, dan dan noodles are a classic Sichuan street food dish from Chengdu traditionally tossed in a spicy, numbing ma-la sauce with pork, scallions, and pickled vegetables. Sun's Kitchen does a really delicious version that's flavorful without feeling too heavy. The noodles have that perfect chewy texture, and every bite has just enough heat to keep you going back for more. If you're someone who's curious about ethnic food but maybe unsure where to start, this is honestly a great entry-level dish. Yes, there's a little spice, but it's approachable and balanced. The dining room itself is modern and beautiful, and now that they serve beer and wine, I definitely need to come back and enjoy a full dine-in experience instead of rushing home with takeout. The only caveat is the parking lot can get a little chaotic since it's shared with neighboring businesses, especially during busy hours. But trust me, it's worth circling for a spot. Charlotte, there's a big wide world of food out there, and places like Sun's Kitchen make exploring it easy and delicious. Get out there and eat your way through it.

I especially loved the beef steak -- it was juicy, tender, and seasoned really well. The combination of the steak with the fried rice was amazing. The pastries that came with the meal were also a wonderful surprise: warm, soft, and very tasty. Everything was served beautifully, and the portion size was generous. The atmosphere and service made the experience even better. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal!

I went back to my car and looked up reviews before driving away. Most of the reviews were good. At that moment, I made a decision: "We're going in!" Even though 'we' is just me. Don't judge; I'm sure you do the same from time to time: consciously or subconsciously. I ordered a Quart of Wonton Soup (very exciting) and Roast Pork Lo Mein (pretty cool). The wait was 10-15 minutes and I paid ahead of time. It was $16 and change but the woman behind the counter stared with great anticipation if i would leave a tip. If I could go back, I wouldn't. For what? They're already marking up prices and this part was strange. Not a fan. Fortunately, the food was good. There were only five wontons (quart usually has 6-8) but it was very good!) The Roast Pork Lo Mein was also strong. It actually had too much Roast Pork for me. At this location, I might just get Chicken Lo Mein next time. But I have been seeing more TikToks with chickens on farms and they're pretty chill so maybe just Lo Mein. I would eat from here again. Hope that helped!

I went in with high expectations for this place, but unfortunately, it was a big letdown…read more Food - 1/5 The food felt very Americanized, like it relied heavily on pre-packaged or bottled sauces rather than fresh flavors. It lacked soul and that authentic Thai touch. The house noodles were pale and bland, with shrimp that added little to no flavor. The Bangkok chicken was overly sweet and tasted like it came straight from a bottle. The fish with chili was also strange--several dishes had lettuce mixed in, which felt out of place and didn't work with the flavors. Overall, it's hard to describe the taste, but it reminded me of a slightly better version of P.F. Chang's rather than real Thai cuisine and it's not even the same cuisine. That's the best thing I can compare it to. Service - 4/5 The staff was friendly, and my pickup order was quick and efficient. One downside was that I wasn't asked about spice level when ordering. I didn't even know they used a 1-5 scale until I overheard another customer's order, which was disappointing. Overall I wouldn't return. I'd rather drive an extra 10-15 minutes for a more authentic Thai meal with real depth, culture, and flavor. For 75$ I hardly feel it was worth it.
