Don't sit at the fixed booth if u like room-opt for the chairs. The service was quick and excellent and the special: shrimp udon hit the spot in between errands on a hot day. I forgot to order a drink. Price was reasonable for the health and satiety of the dish $11. read more

I picked up my order instead of delivery. I was impressed. The order was ready, the service friendly. The food was hot & good tasting. It was our first time ordering from Dragon China. We will order from here again. read more

if I could give zero stars, I would. I've eaten at this place a couple of times no problem. Liked their food and ordered it last night and I have a terrible case of food poisoning Then I googled the restaurant and there's like 50 cases of food poisoning from all different orders and meals from there. no food is worth getting food poisoning over. Do your employees not wash their hands or wear gloves? One or two cases can be okay dismissed or ruled out as an intolerance or allergy but there's an actual problem of gross negligence when there's multiple multiple people with food poisoning after eating from here. Do better or close your damn doors. Point blank period. People should be able to trust the food they're eating and consuming. your business I got sweet and sour chicken btw and it was OLD hard crusty and probably left out for HOURS. Only some of it was "fresh" read more

Impromptu lunch with a friend. Ordered right away --food came out quick. Tasty and as expected. Typical and traditional Chinese food. My friend had beef and peppers LOVED IT. I had the 'C' special S&S Chix, broccoli with fried rice. It was good. Nothing special! But it's lunch for $10/ea. Service GREAT!!! read more

It was ok. If you want it fast, hot and you don't have to make it, this is the place for you. We ordered because it came recommended. And for those nights that I have a craving for Chinese and I don't want to buy PF Changs at the grocery store, this will do. The people were friendly and they have a decent sized dining room. Just didn't have the wow factor we were looking for. read more

I enjoy the mu shu and egg foo young as well as the special fried rice. They prepare the food really quite quickly. They have some great American Chinese food! read more

I ordered Mongolian beef, shrimp fried rice and vegetable Lo mien from this establishment and it gave me horrific food poisoning please be careful with this place. They are not clean and have very low standards. read more

Just moved to the area and of course you have to find a Chinese take out place, right? Unfortunately, we're still looking. The general tsos and the sesame chicken were like the sweet and sour chicken (the puffy breading) and the sauce was different than we prefer. The fried rice was mushy and lacked flavor. My son ate the white rice and it looked ok. Hubby loved the cheese Rangoons, I thought they were ok. Don't think we'll be returning. Service was fine though. read more

Worst spareribs EVER! Tough and couldn't even eat on for $25. . read more

I would like to see some decent Chinese restaurants in Asheville (besides Red Ginger) so I'll just be charitable and say that Dragon China is clean, the owners seem to be nice, the portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. But, heavens to Betsy, this place is for those who believe Chinese food is chop suey and Gen. Tso's chicken. read more

It works! It's in walking distance for us, so it's convenient. Is it the best Chinese food ever? No. Not really. Does it hit the spot? Totally! We ordered crab rangoon (cheese rangoon technically), kung po chicken, general tsos, beef lo mein, and a small thing of wonton soup. The kung pao was definitely the biggest disappointment. Not spicy at ALL, and like zero flavor. I ended up tossing it in some ponzu sauce to make it more palatable. The cheese ragoons, general tsos, and the beef lo mein were all winners (the lo mein being *really* good). I wasn't the biggest fan of the soup...kinda a weird filling. We will keep going here because it's in walking distance, but it's not necessarily worth going out of the way to pick up. read more

Nice people, good food, but PLEASE do not serve everything in disposable plastic and Styrofoam. Please!

I have tired so many of these little Chinese places in Asheville and I think I finally found one I like. I went solo for lunch on a weekday. The place is small but they have about 10-15 booths you can sit at and eat. Most of these places tend to be dirty and very hot. However this one was clean and cool. There were a few people eating and a few more came in during my lunch. The guy at the counter was nice. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp lunch for $6. This included rice either white or fried. It was a lot of food! It was very good not too soupy. The chicken was fried which I was not expecting but at least it was all white meat. They only have canned drinks or water, The guy at the counter came by to refill my water for me 2 times while I was there which is not normally expected at a place like this. I would return to try more things on the lunch menu. For $6 you cannot go wrong with this place. read more

Dragon China - Kung Pow Chicken and Shrimp - Chinese Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

This is my new favorite place in Asheville for well-prepared, reasonably priced traditional "American Chinese" food. The staff is very friendly and the food is great if you are looking for standard "old school" favorites like General Tso's Chicken. By the way, General Tso's is made with white meat as are all of their Chicken dishes (from my understanding), which is my preference. Nothing fancy, but it is just what we were looking for ... a new "go to" place for take-out (or dine-in). Certainly not a place to dine in if you are looking to impress visitors or a date (it has the typical simple decor of an "Express" Chinese restaurant). We will be back, can't wait to try their take on more of my old favorites! read more

I used to go Dragon China a lot when I worked nearby. I'm no expert on authentic Chinese food but the food was always good. stopped by today for takeout and it seems there are new owners. one of my spring rolls had a hole burned in the side as if it were reheated on a grill or in a pan. it spewed grease on the first bite! the insides had so much grease you could see it and a napkin was not enough to soak it up. the second one was normal, inside and out. Clearly the first was not fresh. The beef and broccoli left a lot to be desired, some of the steamed rice was hard as it gets when dried out. Not going back there again. read more

Tried this restaurant as we've yet to find a good inexpensive Asian place. It's a bit of a drive from us (we're in N. Asheville) and since it was open on a Monday night, took a chance. Online ordering was easy. Prices a touch higher than others in the area but relatively competitive. Atmosphere in restaurant seemed ok - basic booths, but clean and neat. Our order was ready on arrival, and they did seem a bit busy on that night. We ordered the PuPu for two, steamed dumplings, curry beef and shrimp fried rice and WonTon soup, brown rice and chicken cashew. Steamed dumplings were good, standard sauce. The PuPu was pretty hit or miss, a lot of food, but the boneless spare ribs were overcooke,d, one so much it was inedible. Breading on the shrimp (not deviened!), scallops, chicken pieces was tempura style. Chicken was best. Crab rangoon fairly tasteless. Overall, platter was unimpressive at best. Curry beef didn't have much flavor. I ordered it mild, not knowing this place, and it was, but definite lack of curry flavor. Shrimp fried rice was good. WonTon soup was flavorful with plenty of "schmaltz" ;) Chicken cashew was also ok, but not a lot of flavor. High points - WonTon Soup, Steamed Dumplings, Shrimp fried rice. Lows - PuPu not too good, other dishes meh. We'll keep searching - but not hopeful, we've tried pretty much all the inexpensive places within a 20 minute drive and have found them all to be mediocre and inconsistent. read more

Mediocre. They have gotten less enjoyable the last year or so. :/. I had the lomein and it was less than average.

The sesame chicken is pretty bad. It was mushy. I asked for extra sesame seeds and yet only 30% of the chicken has sesame seeds on it.

Never ordered Chinese "Take out" but they very friendly , clean and serve marvelous food, a very good portion too ....I am sure I will order soon again.. Uschi read more

This place is my guilty pleasure. Please don't tell anyone;-) This is my go to for a quick lunch or an easy dinner. There isn't much to choose from regarding Asian cuisine in Asheville. Unless you're willing to head to South Asheville for PF Changs, this is your place. Dragon China is a local/family owned restaurant. They seem to be select about staff. The service is usually great. Bella is the bomb! The lunch menu is $5, Hello! $5 lunch?? Who does that? These guys do! My two favorites are the beef broccoli and the sweet & sour chicken. Affordable, Great Service, Convenient Location, Family owned and operated. Yes! read more

Food arrived at my door in record time. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. A bit expensive, but was worth it. Thank you so much for finally delivering quality, quantity and quick delivery. I will be back! read more

I usually always go here for the lunch specials. Shrimp lo-mein with fried rice for $5.95! You can not beat that and the lot mein is so rich in flavor. But wait... I'm from So-Cal and I've had many cheese ragoons/wontons from Cali to Oregon to New York and these are the BEST I've ever had in my life. I always order 20. They are filled with cream cheese, green onion, imitation crab and maybe secret ingredient? I promise you won't regret it. read more

Since moving here in October, I've tried lots of Chinese food in Asheville and so far this is my favorite. Hot, fresh, delicious food. My go to is garlic chicken. Like every Chinese restaurant, it's never spicy enough, so request extra, extra, extra spicy if that's what you're into. If you want real food, cooked to order, this is your spot :) read more

If there's anything Asheville lacks when it comes to straight-up great Chinese cuisine - it's the amount of places to choose from. In my search, I've happily settled with Dragon China being the best there is - for my taste. They're quick, friendly, accommodating, and the place is uber clean. Best part is... they're open Christmas Day! Menu favorites: Veggie fried rice, Garlic shrimp, and Kung Pao Shrimp. read more

This is definitely the worst Chinese food I've ever had, and I've had a lot. It might be the worst fast food in general. It's like they microwave some frozen Chinese food and serve it to you on styrofoam to go boxes (even if you eat there!) And it's priced as if it's good restaurant-quality food. Don't go here, just buy frozen Chinese TV dinners and save yourself money. read more

Have ordered food here a few times now for my office and my family. Food taste and quality is good. Egg rolls and fried rice are excellent. Beef with Broccoli is very good too. Portions are big, so plan on having leftovers! We will be back. It is much better than going to Asiana or Yao. Fresh, hot food, made to order rather than moving through the feeding trough. read more

I can from Georgia to meet my family, now I know what fresh taste like but besIde that I order from here the house special fried which consist of beef, chicken and shrimp. I told them I wanted to eat in. And they gave me a bag to leave. So I grabbed a table to eat anyway. As I'm eating it seem well til I ate a shrimp which to me taste like t was bad. I didn't think of it at first really til I ate another one and that's when I knew they gave me bad shrimp. I definitely asked for my money bad. Bad first experience I'll never come back. read more

We were from Charlotte & looking for a fast food Chinese takeout place. After reviews we ck it out. 1. Location, easy to find and not scary place 2. Customer service was awesome, very attentive 3. Food, hot and delicious! Large portion for dinner price $ 4. Got Hunan beef, garlic chicken w/ veggies, sesame chicken. Got served in 15 mins after he took our order. I was full and very happy indeed! read more

By far our favorite take out Chinese place in Asheville. The dine in ambiance is not super cozy but gets the job done and the owners and staff are friendly. Plus you can watch TV movies and other local TV gems while your there! I love that the food doesn't feel covered in slime and grease but still feels like classic "traditional American" Chinese. Don't miss the Chinese donuts for dessert! The lo mien and hot and sour soup are some my other favorites. read more

Ordered three totally different dishes and they all were essentially used the same sauce with a one or two different veggies or proteins.

The folks here are very nice and accommodating but the food is just not good. I agree with another yelper that Red Ginger has the best Chinese food but it is waayyyyy too expensive. Unfortunately I won't be back to Dragon China unless they get a new chef. read more

I have yet to find great (awesome) Chinese food in Asheville. (Granted I just moved here a few months ago). I eat here occasionally, and the food is always good. The beef and broccoli is a little soupy, but the portions are generous giving a big plus to them for that! Some days it's hit or miss. The first time I ate here it was fabulous. The second time was so-so and the next time was awesome once more. I suppose it depends on who is working and how busy they may be. I very much enjoy the food, though, and since I get take out the Chinese Tupperware containers are great for storing leftovers! It's a win/win there! Plus they keep the food nice and hot on the drive home. I barely ever eat at any place since it's much nicer to go home to eat so I can watch a movie or television. (I'm not real big on socializing with others. :D ) So, if you're looking for pretty good Chinese then check them out. (I would have given 4 stars, but my husband hasn't liked any of the chicken dishes on the menu.) read more

Dragon China - Pepper steak with xtra meat, fried rice - Chinese Near Me - Asheville, North Carolina

It's a humble package, but their wonton soup is delicious! They definitely don't skimp on the wontons, either.

After driving almost all day and barely ate nothing, I was desperate to find a Chinese restaurant to feed my stomach. I tried to find some Chinese eatery, any one will do except buffet restaurant. This place is almost the only one within the vicinity, so I went there, after I phoned first to ensure it would open. I ordered shrimp and tofu. I tried to get some fish, but the waitress confirm that no fish available. The dishes were ok, it was large, and the service acceptable. Without much Chinese patronage, the service cannot be improving soon. read more
