This place is great! They've improved 100% since the first time I stopped in. The food tastes fresh and seasoned delicately to perfection. I had won ton soup....very tasty and loaded with tasty wontons. Egg rolls with just the right crunch on the outside and the inside wasn't mushy. The combo plate of shrimp in lobster sauce --a great price that's available all day. The shrimp tastes freshly caught and cooked, the sauce has a delicate, yummy flavor and the pork fried rice--a nice bold flavor! Last nut not least, I finished off with chinese donuts. They're different than I've gotten at other places but good. Chewy, buttery and lots of crunchy sugar. Loved everything and this was just before closing time. Second time trying .....different dishes. The WonTon soup has plenty of wontons , but they are tasteless. The shrimp lo mein was sticky and lacked taste. The shrimp egg rolls were over fried and tasteless. The roast pork fried rice was very good. The Chinese noodles are the very cheap kind that are tasteless. $32 dollars for the food mentioned was very reasonable. read more

The roast pork lo mein is great! Sesame chicken is good as well!! The egg rolls are hit or miss often they're undercooked. Definitely only get food to go from here the inside is pretty dirty. Service is ok at best. read more

Overall a 4 star experience for this little town! Great service and no MSG. I ordered an orange chicken lunch special and mixed vegetables. Deliciously cooked fresh vegetables in a tasty brown sauce. I had to skirt around the grease (a little too much). So, next time I will make sure to tell them to go easy on the grease. The chicken was actually bites of chicken and not fried dough (big plus) with thin slices of orange and red pepper flakes. Their menu is not as extensive as most Chinese restaurants. For example, I asked for Honey Walnut Shrimp and they didn't have that. The egg roll was a bit overcooked and didn't have the tasty red sauce in my take out. The egg roll is mostly cabbage, which is great if you like cabbage and the filling was well-seasoned. As for the service, it was a quick 10-minutes from ordering to pick up. The ladies at the front counter were very friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a solid place to curb your Chinese food hankerings, this is it! read more

Best Chinese food within a 15 mile drive!! It's a very small in and out place. Staff is very friendly and helpful! The Lo Mein, Beef and Broccoli, Schezuan Chicken or Beef is very good as well. The egg rolls are the best!! Egg Drop soup is very good also. They make the BEST sweet and sour sauce for dipping I have had!! Only draw back is if you eat in, the air temperature is warm. I give it 5 stars with a caveat... this is not a gourmet place in a big city. This is a strip mall Chinese place in a tiny town. And of all the strip mall carry out places I've been to, including big metro areas, this is the best. We have plenty of take out options in the area. Joy Wok never disappoints if you're looking for Chinese food. Excellent soups, appetizers, fried rice (I always go with the chef special fried rice, wife gets chicken fried rice) and the few entrees that we've had were really good. I've always gotten take out. They have several tasty vegetarian dishes, understand how to work with tofu, just an all around good Chinese take out. Place was clean as were the bathrooms, and you could eat in as well. Nice to have this option in town. read more

I have to admit, for a take-out Chinese place it's incredible. It's family owned, and they all work there...I've seen the young kids doing homework and then jumping up to help Mom or Dad. Is this fine dining? Of course not. Is it knock-your-socks-off-good Chinese? Nope. However, it's really good for your standard Chinese takeout. The menu is the standardized Chinese takeout (do all takeout places get their menus and photos from the same place?). The food tends to have a bit more flavor than most of the area takeout places though, which is always a plus for us. The food is good if you're looking for Chinese takeout and they have reasonable prices. The lunch specials in particular are a great deal - a decent portion of the entree, fried rice (with pork, though they're happy to leave it out), and either soup or tea for under $6. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, if you're looking for good takeout in the area, give Joy Wok a try. read more
