Service was good. Main waitress did well but assisting staff did not call out food and more than one dish was handed to the wrong party. Lettuce leaf appetizers were served with one shrimp and four peanuts each. Looked like one of those DIWHY projects you see on Pinterest. Crispy shrimp was more on the greasy side but edible. I ate a shrimp salad as a main dish. I will say the shrimp was large in that and breaded well. The sticky mango rice I tried was also decent. Thai Spice used to be one of my main go-to places. The bathroom wall in the handicapped stall has a thick layer of dust on it which was kind of "ew". It used to be much cleaner and well kept. I'm not sure if volume has exceeded capacity or what has happened. I would recommend reducing the menu items to focus on quality and ingredients that can be used in multiple dishes. I would also make better use of the bar area and put seating around there. I would love to see this place pop again. It was very good for awhile but in Hendersonville, it seems restaurants do very well initially and then quickly go downhill. I guess our town is where restaurants go to die. read more

I do like this spot but a little on the fence. I did not see not one thai person working here. Service was ok. I got the tom yum soup and it was good. I also got the drunken noodles and it was good but I wish there was more flavor to it. It's super american in my opinion. It just needs more spice! read more

I usually eat here when I want Thai food. Normally my go to place. Last night, we ordered take out from them. Our usual plates: Pad Thai, Fries Rice, and for me, Sizzling Seafood. The pad Thai and Fried Rice were mediocre at best. The Sizzling Seafood was terrible. No "sizzle" At all. No "juice" and the food was dry. Asked for medium heat, came with none! And no seasoning. Incredibly bland. It's food like this that causes restaurants to get bad reviews and lose customers. read more

Unassuming spot with great food! Our waitress was very attentive- food arrived hot and quickly and was delicious! Portions are generous and spice level perfect for me (no spice lol) and hubby (likes spice) the sticky mango rice was different from what we have had in the past but I actually like it better because it was not super sweet! They use real coconut milk with no added sugar and toasted coconut for great texture!!!! We will definitely visit again when in the area! read more

Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodle) is a simple dish, yet Thai Spice managed to ruin it in a complex way. The food arrived with no chicken (the requested protein), the rice noodles were swimming in a high fructose sauce, without any spiciness that gives Pad Kee Mow its unique flavor, and their were two very flaccid, yellowed broccoli that had long since died. The portion was lightweight, perhaps due to the missing chicken, and cost $4 more than the Thai restaurant up the street that takes pride in their cooking & visual presentation. We went there with a large group and they were super accommodating. The first room was quite loud we asked if we could relocate and they did so without complaint. Now as for the food. In retrospect I should have gone with 5. I'm not sure the spice tolerance of Hendersonville, but in Orlando my 4 would have been mild. That said, it was very good and flavorful. Just the right hint of tamarind without being overly sweet and ketchup like. My wife did not like her Pad See Ew and I don't blame her, it had no flavor and just tasted sort of wet/steamed. I love Thai Food but there are some many styles of Thai I guess. This is ok, middle of the road. Nothing was served hot, everything was just above room temperature. Service lacking and slow, dirty table across the entire restaurant. This place has changed since the first time I came here. The food is super flavorful and very quickly done. I don't usually have to wait a long time when I do my takeout orders and that's the only kind of order I do. I love the green curry with medium heat, it's my favorite. Always hits the spot. The crispy rolls are delightful, love the crab Rangoon and my husband loves everything he had tried. It's one of my new favorite places to go in Hendo now on our usual once a week takeout meals. read more

My boyfriend and I enjoy the food here very much, but the service is just abysmal. The two times we have dined in, it's taken over 15 minutes to be greeted by a server -- not the worst thing in the world, but a bad start. Both times, we have waited over an hour to receive our food after ordering, including the appetizers, which came out only after several times asking the server (who rarely came to check on us, but was polite when doing so). Since this, we have just ordered to go. Generally not an issue, but when my boyfriend went to pick it up today, nobody acknowledged him for over ten minutes - it was not busy, servers were wiping tables and just staring at him. As terrible as it feels to say, as we do enjoy the food, we will not be coming back. Also, this is a nitpick, but the inside looks and smells musty. read more

We went to Thai Spice for the first time today, and WOW! We loved it! We started with crispy tofu and as a main dish I had the Vegetable stir fry with added tofu. My husband had the pad thai with tofu. Both dishes were excellent! Our waitress was Michelle and she was great. The restaurant is very clean and the parking was easy. A pleasant surprise- don't worry about the over crowded parking lot- it's typically from the bar (non alcoholic) that shares the lot. Good service and fresh, well prepared food. Food was good overall. I enjoyed the massaman curry and finished the dish. My son had some peanut chicken skewers w rice kids meal, he liked it ok but didn't eat much. The fried rolls were a little odd tasting, not sure I'm a fan. My dad had a couple beers with his meal which were a little pricey. Overall the dishes were kind of pricey too considering what you get but this is sadly typical in today's economy. Edamame for $9.95?!!!!. I would return but not often due to cost. I had really high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but I think they're tailoring their food to a much different demographic. This is not Thai food, it's an approximation of Thai. We ordered Mieng Kum which is described as "cooked shrimp, fresh ginger, peanuts, red onion, and roasted coconut wrapped in romaine leaf with sweet and sour sauce." The picture attached is what we got. It was a lettuce leaf with 1/8 of a shrimp and a sliver of ginger. And it was $7... We also order the Tom Kha soup, and I am 100% sure they use sweetened coconut milk. It tasted like coconut ice cream with vegetables in it. That might taste good to some folks, but not for us. Pad Woon Sen wasn't as bad, but it was really bland and mild (even though we ordered extra spicy). I think this place might be good for folks who don't actually like Thai food. We won't be eating/ordering from them again. Do not recommend. Positive note, they cooked the food quickly! read more

Our waitress was the only person on the floor and she was doing an excellent job, with hostessing and serving all the tables in the restaurant. Staying overnight in Hendersonville we drove past Thai Spice on the way to our hotel. Seeing good ratings on Yelp we decided to try it. It was absolutely delicious. We started with crispy spring rolls that were super crunchy and full of yummy fillings. I had Tom Yum soup (spice level 2) and it was the best I've ever had. The level of spice was perfect and the veggies were fresh and tender crisp. Mom had cashew nut pork loin while I chose ginger beef. Both of these dishes had succulent broth and a hearty amount of vegetables. Rice was served on the side. Even though the portions were quite generous we both ate almost every bite. The ambiance here was also nice. Deep rich colors and minimal but interesting decorations. Mom commented that the real greenery was a nice touch. Best was That there was no tv blaring!
