I moved back to the area and was looking for Thai food and this came up as the closest. I probably wouldn't have gone if I had known it was in a gas station, but happy I did. Still the best I have had since moving here, and I have tried several of the more popular ones in Hendersonville. Maybe the gas station throws people off, but give it a try. Great service-what I mean is friendly, timely, happy that we enjoyed the food! Great food-crisp lettuce in the salad, delicious coconut soup with that Thai tangy note, delicious green curry. When I was moving the curry to a takeout container, I was trying to be demure and not scrape all the sauce into the container. When your hungry it is hard to decide where you want to go. This is about a hour from where we live but after seeing a Dr in this area I felt like having something other than hamburgers or italian food, so I pulled up restaurants in the area. I seen a few reviews for this Thai restaurant but they said it was inside a gas station. I couldn't picture a gas station with a restaurant inside other than places that had a McDonalds or chicken places. I love Thai food and the majority of reviews were very good so I couldnt wait to try. We ordered the fried Dumplings, they had chicken inside. They had a good taste. We also ordered the chicken curry. I read the portions were big so we shared both. The Chicken Curry dinner was good, I could taste the authentic spices they use. The only problem we both agreed was the sauce was a bit thin and it would have been nice to have a tad bit more . We are use to curry being more creamy and a little thicker. The owner was very nice who waited on us. We stayed there to eat, There was a sun room with some tables and chairs we ate in. If we were in the area again I wouldnt mind trying some of the other dishes they offer. ( And it was plenty to share!) read more

My friends celebrated one of our group's birthday here last week. Everyone got something different and they said they really liked their choices, which is alot to pick from. Also, something I and the other friends liked, was you could tell them how much spice (hot) you wanted on your food. My level is 0 spice as spice burns my lips. But some of the others had 5 or 6 level, ( 1-10 level choices). I don't know how you spell our waiters name, but he told us it is pronounced like the last half of the word Tokyo,so his name was Kyo. He is at your table when you need him, and he leaves you alone otherwise, so that you can have an uninterrupted conversation with your friends,unlike a different restaurant we were at this past weekend, that waitress was literally at our table asking us if we wanted the check! Not Kyo, he was so pleasant and kind and got all of our separate bills correctly, and there was seven of us,(6 women and 1 young man son of the friend having the birthday). Ambience- it was lunch time, but no one had to do any yelling to be easily heard and there was quite a few customers there. They have a patio also, & it was a nice day so several people ate outside. I hate to say it, but this place has gotten progressively less and less reliable. Every time I go... From very very sweet food... That should not be sweet to portions half the size of what I used to get there... I'm afraid I can no longer highly recommend it and will be trying other places. read more

Woohoo!! I found the best thai green curry in town!! In fact, I have ordered the tofu green curry twice this week from here. The service is incredibly friendly, and the food is extremely fresh. The broccoli and carrots were the right amount of crunch making it clear there were no frozen veggies used for this delicious dish. I can't count how many times I've driven by and not paid attention because I was a little put off by a restaurant inside a gas station. I will happily own the fact that I was so wrong with my presumptions and am so glad I followed a fellow Yelper's recommendation to check this place out. I can't wait to try other items on the menu, especially the pad Thai that everyone seems to rave about. read more

Worth a try. Flavor and spices not distributed evenly thru Pad Thai noodles. Indentical orders had differing amounts of protein. Noodles wrapped nicely in foil to prevent leaking. read more

10 STARS!!!!!! This is our all time favorite place. The owner has the best customer service and the best food! She also is so thoughtful to saranwrap your takeout so it doesn't spill. When you first realize that this restaurant is in a Citgo gas station, your instinct might be to keep driving. When you walk in and see the counter in the midst of the gas station convenience store, you wonder again. Fortunately, we persisted and ordered some of the best Thai food we've eaten - and we've eaten lots of Thai food. Great egg roll, pad thai and drunken noodles prepared by gracious proprietors. We've no reason to return to the area, but will go anyway so that we can explore more of the menu. Highly recommend it! read more

This is by far the best Thai Food within six states! Authentic Thai! The best places to eat are usually out of the way but Tasty Thai at a Citgo Gas Station is just fine. Great Food at reasonable prices. Have a small dining area but wonderful people and wonderful service. I live close to the TN line in Madison County NC but it is worth the drive! Of all the local Thai places this one to me seems the best. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and service is good. The Tom Yum chicken and Larb with cabbage are my go too and are delicious. I would say please do not leave this place without ordering some pad thai and sticky mango!!! This is the closest I've tried to real thai food... i drove from rock hill, sc and stopped here to have dinner and it was delicous. The portions are very generous!! The pad Thai was passable at best. If you enjoy swamp-like rice, the curry dish is ideal for you. But honestly, those were idyllic circumstances compared to the service. Would not recommend. Mediocre quality food is one thing, but service with a smile is something I search for in my restaurant choices. The treatment was so abhorrent and made my lunch party feel humiliated to the point of wishing we had stayed home and watched FRIENDS instead or even gone to Taco Bell, where at least we knew the service would be welcoming and kind, unlike the attitude that poured through the food providers when the discussion came up as to whether or not our dishes were satisfactory. The statement on the dissatisfaction with the amount of curry portions versus rice portion and wanting a bit more curry was met with anger. read more

Really great, fresh Thai food! If you're not concerned with ambiance and just want good food I'd highly recommend it. The lunch portions are plentiful and the only ice is right. Service was good, food prepared well and brought to your table. We enjoyed the pad Thai with chicken, Penang curry with Shrimp, and Chow Mein with chicken. All very flavorful. read more

Delicious Thai food in a gas station?!?!? That actually seems to be the norm around town. Hands down the best tom yum soup ever, I don't know how they make it but it's so good. I go about once a week for lunch and it has to be one of the best lunch deals in the area. For the lunch chicken Pad Thai, you get a generous portion (as hot as you like it), a veggie egg roll and a cup of wonton soup for about $8. They have all of the classics like chicken satay, all the curries, fried rice and noodles. It's amazing how such a variety can come out of a small kitchen but it's delicious and fast. They have some seating in a sunroom, so it's not all to-go like some other places, but it could use some sprucing up. Since I mainly go for lunch, I've never asked to see if they serve Thai beer as well, but I don't think they offer it. Super friendly people and great food make Tasty Thai a hidden gem of a place. read more

My family and I have been eating at this owner's restaurant since I was 2. They moved from a restaurant to this gas station a few years ago, and I'm pleased to say that their food is the best it's ever been! I love their Tom yum soup so much and have yet to find a better version somewhere else. They are the sweetest people you'll ever meet and have the food of a 5 star restaurant. Owners friendly. Food is great, kitchen and counter the cleanest you will find in a gas station, and anywhere for that matter. One of my favorite spots for lunch in Fletcher area. The naysayers are nitpicking. I mean, can you honestly enter a gas station with the expectation of some kind of culinary perfection from the lunch counter!? But if you're looking for good meal and a quick turnaround, which is all you should expect in such a place, you will not be disappointed! In fact, you will be back, as I have, again and again! Far better quality food than any of the oriental buffet places around, and better than many higher-priced, higher-brow restaurants as well. One other thing, not sure there is dining room service right now, but if it starts back up, you should be expecting the most pleasant presentation of your dish that you will ever receive in a gas station! read more

The food was pretty good . The lady was really nice recommending tasty things to eat & they had great vegetarian options . I would give the food 4 stars but the dining part I can't give more than 3 . We went to this place on a recommendation from someone else . It seems like a lot of people get take out and don't dine in and I can see why . We sat in the little dining area inside the gas station and it was disgusting. The windows look like they haven't been cleaned in years , complete with mold and algae growing on them . Great food great place kind of hidden as part of the gas station in Fletcher but well known locally

The biggest reason that I give this place only one star is, when you order online the prices are different. And when you go to pick up your food, you will notice that your total is just under twice as much as the online menu. I brought this to the attention of one of the owners, and she just told me oh well, those are old prices. I told her that she needed to honor the online price's! She refused, and told me no. I felt sorry for the owners, (I believe she was the owner) so I paid the ridiculous price. When I received my food, it was terrible. Just terrible. I am all for small business, but I would not recommend going to eat at this place. Don't waste your money read more
