Juan arrived on time and was very courteous He checked my sliding door an presented options. Not cheap, but keep in mind any time you call a plumber you pay at least 120 for call and end up paying 200-300. They need to cover labor, transit time, parts, other costs. I got my sliding door fixed. To me was a good option getting the lock at amazon was $50.00. It sounds simple, but could be challenging too. If you are lucky it is just a matter of changing it, but like my door, older door you need to check rollers, hooks, to make sure all is aligned so it closes Juan had the experience to make all different hardware work. Overall. Not cheap, you could say pricey, what are your options. Do it yourself, Chase the right hardware, install it, troubleshoot if it does not work; change the whole sliding door? Oh happy days! We have custom sliders that are over 30 years old and have gotten harder and harder to open to the point my arm and back was being affected. We had Shay come out for a quote and without a hiccup said 3 different tiers that can fix this. One that will last for 2-5 yrs, one for 10-15 yrs and the other for 20 yrs or more. We took the 20 years or more for 2 doors which put bigger better slider wheels on. He said after the repair we would be able to open and close with just a finger. Oh I gotta see this! He was right. After replacing the wheels and lubing the appropriate tracks I opened the slider and almost broke the glass because it was so easy to open. I don't ever remember these sliders gliding so easy. (See attached bs advertising) No where does this ad indicate the discount is exclusive to only door replacement which I didn't even know they do nor is it on this ad! So I give them a call and schedule an appointment to come to my home as my slider door needed the roller replaced. Take the day off as they schedule like cable between 8am-5pm. Their technician shows up and proceeds to tell me that the discount only applies to door replacement and not roller replacement... icing on the cake was that they offered ZERO DISCOUNT toward anything! huge scam and false advertising! DO NOT waste a call and certainly don't take a day off as I did to deal with a bait and switch as I did. There clearly are more reputable companies that will give you their price up front without the games. I gave these clowns the first chance because of their false advertising. He called and informed me when he was on his way and when he got here he did a full assessment and gave me different options to fix my stuck sliding door. These quotes included labor. I decided to go with the stainless steel since my glass doors were bigger than the usual 80+ inches. Juan is excellent. On time and got the job done in less than 2 hours. Big thanks to Yaniv for doing the work on the same day as the estimate! We have an unusual slider (it is large, heavy-duty, and didn't have wheels on the bottom but instead an odd combination of loose and tiny plastic roller "pieces," which had all fallen out of their track, plus some *weird* metal contraptions that didn't have any wheels at all). A representative from another company we called first had never seen one like ours, and expressed concerns about how they might even remove the large panel to replace the underneath hardware. This company, Dr. Slide-Door (Yaniv specifically) said he *had* seen this type twice before, and had successfully repaired both. Their prices were the exact same as the other estimate. He popped that thing right off single-handedly (truly impressive)!!! Yaniv was strong and capable to do the entire job on his own. Also, he was *determined* to make it slide very smoothly and effortlessly... even took the heavy glass panel off a second time and made more adjustments to it. Then he was equally determined to figure out why the lock wasn't lining up quite right, which we had not been using anyway because of its long-time misalignment/difficulty-in-using issues (once again, we have a very unusual hardware setup - boo on the previous owners for all of their selections). Oh, and Yaniv also vacuumed the tracks and applied/told us exactly what type of maintenance/spray to buy/use to keep it "healthy." The slider lives on until we can afford a new one.
