Mike is wonderful. He came out on the hottest Sunday of the summer when my AC decided to quit. Mike did not try to sell me a new unit even though we both knew I could use one. But he also knows these units are expensive and not everyone can replace their AC unexpectedly. If he can fix your unit so you get a little more life out of it he will. Mike is fair and honest and wow does he pay close attention to detail. Not only did he find the broken part right away and fix it, he continued to look for any other issues that might give us a problem. When he found the dirty coils and said the charge was a little low, Mike said the decision was ours and I felt comfortable saying "yes" OR "no." Of course we said yes because we trust him, his prices were fair, and I am telling you he pays attention to detail. We had to have our coils cleaned and he didn't just spray it off and move on. He took apart the unit and took his time. Mike has a great work ethic, does what he says he is going to do, knows what he is talking about, and is not interested in taking all of your money. I have been burned before and know what other companies charge. I have spoken to friends who have received quotes well beyond what Dr. Degrees charges. I tell them what I am telling you...CALL DR. Our system is 15 years old and has been limping along - we've not been able to get the temperature in the house below 75 during the summer in years - we called Dr. Degree's HVAC (Mike) on Monday night when it stopped working altogether and he fit us in the very next day. He wasn't able to fix it that night so he very generously installed two window units to get us through and came out first thing this morning to install a unit outside for us. We'll still need to replace the whole split system next year (which we will definitely get from him), but this is perfect for this summer. I cannot recommend Mike enough for your HVAC needs. He was quick to respond, timely in fixing the problem, very reasonable in pricing, and very kind as well. He took the time, after spending all day in this dangerous 100+ degree heat at that, to explain to me some ins and outs of A/C and how it works (humidity, etc.) I had checked them out on Google, FB, NextDoor, Yelp, and BBB (A+rating) - ALL 5 star reviews everywhere I looked (and he's been in business since 2011), and I'm not in the least bit surprised. Couldn't be happier. We received excellent products, and premier (actually a perfectionist level of) service at one of the lowest costs we found after weeks of searching and after receiving many, many quotes from other vendors, both large and small. We liked Dr. Degree initially for many reasons, and now even more after he completed the work. Initially, Mike looked at all aspects of our HVAC, not just the system itself, to include all parts of the system mechanical aspects, air flow including numbers and sizes of registers and returns, size of house, rooms, windows, etc. to learn what our current system can (ideally) provide for us. Then he spoke with us to learn our goals. He used the data he collected, especially the goals he received from us to provide us with some alternatives for an upgraded system that would meet our needs more efficiently. When he did the job he did excellent work and would not allow hidden issues he found such as a crimped Freon pipe left from a previous (original?) vendor to remain, but fixed them as well (at no increased cost to us). We are very happy with his quote, with his ethics, and with the quality of his work and would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

Superlative knowledge.. I think i may have ever written maybe 3-4 reviews but had to stop and do this one.. I met Mike today 7/31/2018 when i called for help on a load calculation for my GEO heat pump. He spent more than an hour on the phone with me providing information for which he would never be paid.. well maybe not my guess is due to his free advice he is now my go to guy for future ac needs and he will be paid handsomely for that. I still cannot believe Mike spend so much time with me offering suggestions for my horrible GEO system that had been done by another company. His knowledge of the subject amazed me.. if he is even close to as good as his knowledge choosing him for any HVAC job will be a great decision on your part.. Trust me he will get my business from now on.... Excellent Service!!! Dr. Degree's came the same day we called for service. Our furnace which was almost 40 years old had finally stopped working. Even though it was obvious we were going to have to replace it, Mike didn't push selling us a new one, but gave us our options on what we could do. The customer service we received was exceptional and I bought a new furnace from Dr. Degree's. The cost for the furnace and installation was much less than what we had been quoted a few years ago and there was no upselling in trying to get me to pay more than I needed too. The furnace was even installed a day early and we were kept informed every step of the way. Mike even brought space heaters for me to use while I was waiting on the new furnace to come in. I found Mike on Yelp and noticed he had gotten a 5 star rating on all of his reviews, I was hooked at this point....sent an email and got a quick response and estimate relative to the inquiry I made. I called him on the 5th of July and made an appointment for that same day, he was on time...at the door, I told him that I was going to get some booties for his shoes and he said he would take them off and then he checked the system, told me what I would need to repair or replace, made the repairs I requested, gave me a break on some items and cleaned the condenser coils. Mike is awesome. My heat would not go on in the beginning of the season as we woke up on a Sunday morning, the first 30 degree night. Mike talked me through over riding the system to get my heat working. He followed up later that morning to be sure the house was warm and came first thing the next morning to fix the system. I have not had an issue since he fixed the problem. Mike is very knowledgeable and thorough. I have had several vendors before Dr. Degrees' Mike and they were nowhere the caliber of Mike. We had Dr. Degree's HVAC in for a two part project. Part one was to improve the efficiency of our exisiting HVAC system. Part two was to install a whole house dehumidifier. The purpose was to lower the humidity inside our house. We are already feeling the improvement after one day. We have had 4 houses in Virginia Beach with multiple HVAC vensors and servicers. Given that exposure, we feel comfortable saying that Dr Degrees is absolutely top notch. If you are looking for the best AC repair company, this is the one. Mike is very professional and knowledgeable. He replaced our evaporator coil and gave us a few different options to procced with the quickest way to replace our unit. He replaced the evaporator coil, cleaned my outside unit and even submitted my warranty paperwork to the manufacturing company and extended my warranty to 10 years.
