I used to go to Dr. Astrachan years ago and he is a great doctor. But recently I went to Hamden and…read morenever saw him after THREE visits. I was supposed to have a hearing test waited two hours never happened because one of the other doctors blew a gasket telling me I wasn't his patient and would have to wait. Well I ended up leaving. I made yet another appointment and got the dates mixed up and didn't go. They charged me $25 for a missed appointment. I actually sent them a payment but the check never cleared. I called the billing office and told them to re present the check. THEY NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. Then several weeks later I received a bill for $50!!! I called this time they answered in the billing department and I told them what happened. They didn't care. I ended up paying the $50. Expensive lesson but I learned. Do yourself a favor and go to Dr. Melnick in New Britain. No problems there.

I went to Dr Astrachan for years and, while he is a good ENT, I grew tired of him barely spending a…read moremoment with each patient. The clincher for me to move on came when I got some lab tests and then made a followup appointment to see him. After waiting 30 minutes or more, he finally came into the exam room looked at my chart for 15 seconds and said he wanted me to make an appointment to have a minor procedure done and then walked out. The question is why he couldn't have one of his assistants call me to tell me to set up an appointment for the procedure and save me an hour out of my day, a $50 copay (which I argued against and lost), etc. This told me that, like another poster said, this office was all about money and not caring about consideration for their patients.
