I am so glad that this places maintians good reviews. I have been coming here just for a sweet fix and this places has always been so convenient. Who can say no to a blizzard! The workers are always so nice and friendly. There was a total of three younger adults working at my visit at 7pm. I have not personally tried the lunch/dinner food here, but I would recommend all the desserts. I also have not had any of the fruit smoothies, but I do hear that they are pretty good. Stopped in after I went to Rite Aid. It's only a few doors down from there. I have not had an orange Julius in so long! It was the perfect fix I needed. I ordered a large for $6 and it's worth it. This is one of the best ice cream places of all time! The restaurant is clean and the service is great. However, their blizzards bring me to a happy place! I love their dipped strawberry cheesecake, chocolate brownie extreme, turtle pecan cluster, mint Oreo, chocolate chip cookie dough, Oreo cookie, and Reese's blizzards. Their snickers and butterfinger blizzards are great too. However, when I visited today, I decided to go for the blizzard of the month which just so happens to be the Superman cake batter cookie dough blizzard. And, it was so delicious! Here's for the lies they tell everyone about the Orange Julius. When IHOP purchased Orange Julius a long time ago, Warren Buffett purchased it from them and then it was sold to Dairy Queen. I was just speaking with one of their reps on a corporate matter, nothing to do with them, when I brought it up. I told him about this place. He said they should be selling Orange Julius drinks. It looks like they are a franchise, but all the franchise Orange Julius' were purchased and folded into the Dairy Queen Corp. I gave him more info about this one. All the other Dairy Queen's have them. He said this is rare as hen's teeth. So I hope to hear back from him to hear what he has to say. The other stores do - give them - call!! They do have those ice cream popsicles that taste like orange Julius. They kept telling me it was a Covid thing that the company stopped making the mix. It's bad enough you have to wait 30 minutes or an hour for a baseball team to get served - then you are told some kind of lie. :( I know this isn't really the staff or locations fault but there was some huge disappointment today 3/20. It was Free Cone Day, I received several emails marketing this from DQ and put it on my calendar several days ago, heavily anticipating this. I even read the finer terms over and over again to check what the event duration was. It indicated all day event at non mall locations. I even helped spread the word to my friends. My friends showed up to a different non mall location and yet were met with a sign that said they weren't participating. They ended up buying a Blizzard since they already went there. I felt so guilty. We separately went to this location and got hit with a sign that they ran out of cones when we showed up around 6:45pm. As much as I understand it was our issue for showing up later in the day. I also felt like maybe they should've specified how many cones they were going to give away that day instead of leaving it open ended that this was an all day event. NBC did a better job of clear advertising when they did a Free Bundtlet event, what time and how many, just so all of us have realistic expectations. What's also unsurprising is that there was still a long line of people which tells me like that most like me were met with disappointment but since they already spent the gas and time to get out there they were kinda coerced into spending their money to get something. We decided that due to the principle of things, to take our business elsewhere, we walked over to Thrifty and got a single scoop (which is really a double scoop) for $2.49! This 5 star review is for the customer service at this location. DQ is one of the last places you can get a chocolate dipped soft serve. DQ is all about nostalgia for me. We ordered a peanut butter hot fudge milkshake and a mini Reese's blizzard. They did not disappoint. The absolute best part of the entire experience were the three workers. They we kind, polite and so incredibly personable. The cashier asked the customer in line in front of us "and how is your day going?" The exchange was so sincere. We noticed the last few times we went, we thought it was maybe just a one off and tried again, and again, this is the third time that our blizzards were so soupy and melted and one of us got the snickers blizzard and it was so stale and gross. DONT EVEN TRY TO GO AFTER 9pm. i looked up the hours online and saw they were open until 10pm. awesome, right? so my girlfriend and i walked to the restaurant, got there at 9:30pm but they were already closed and out of there. extremely frustrated. leaving the restaurant at 9:30 means they had probably already been closed around 30 minutes or so, speaking from experience being a closer at several fast food chains. so even if i had gotten there earlier, they would've still been closed. the hours on the front of the restaurant also said open until 10pm so i was very confused. perhaps they were understaffed? not sure. either way, very disappointed. i just wanted my soft serve fix :( -After speaking to someone else, i found out that this seems like a somewhat regular occurrence. they told him that they had turned off the ice cream machine and were turning down business. i would say this place should update the hours to 9pm but then they would probably find an excuse to close at 8 read more

The staff here is pleasant, and patient . I have a 2 kiddos on the spectrum and when we are out ordering need some patience. The few members at the register we have ordered from, I only needed to let them know that both my kiddos are learning to order. And they smile and say no problem or I totally get it. My kids order answer questions or ask questions too, run the gift cards , or pay with cash and learn how to move those the system prompts, the buttons. These things make kiddos nervous and pressured. Arrived at the store and ordered 5 blizzards. The guy taking our order seemed to have a chip on his shoulder that people were there and orders were coming in. When we were given the blizzards she was flipped the small blizzards upside down and back over very quickly and didn't on the large cause she knew they were soupy looking. You can see in the pictures. Then when I asked for my money back I was asked " why did I order them" or " when did I order them"? You had employees handing their friends items over the window that didn't pay with a line to the door waiting with no one helping. Then proceeded to kiss his girlfriend over the window also. Wow . The owners here are amazing . We stopped by last week after a trip to Costco and I was blown away by the staff here . I treated co workers to blizzards as it was my turn to pay for lunch . Prices are a bit high for blizzards but gosh they loved the blizzards ! I can't remember the name of the wife owner. But her kindness and welcoming demeanor had me in awe . I've been watching my calorie intake so didn't want to have dessert but seriously wanted it . Perhaps she sensed my suffering . But she unexpectedly asked if I wanted a sample of their soft serve . She even offered all of us cold water on that warm afternoon . The laughter and just simple joy of this moment had us all smiling . Her husband couldn't have been more fun and gracious as well . I thought I left my wallet there when I couldn't find it the next morning . I called early the next morning when they weren't even open and the husband was genuinely so kind and helpful . I ended up finding my wallet in another part of house but will be forever grateful for the help he offered . Definitely the best DQ in San Diego . First visit was the mint oreo, an all-time favorite of mine. Second was a new summer flavor, the raspberry fudge bliss, that had chunks of fudge and dark chocolate pieces in a delicious raspberry flavored ice cream. It's amazing how quickly they manage to make these sweet treats. The first time I came around 6:30 and the socially distanced line was out the door but the wait was still only about 15 minutes. My only disappointment is that this location doesn't serve the full menu. I had a craving for the chicken strip and was disappointed that they don't have them here but my blizzard quickly made me forget about it. read more

They have a standard Dairy Queen Orange Julius menu and I got the Mini Oreo Blizzard which I thought was the perfect size and tasted yummy. The service here is very good! Summary: not the greatest experience - I was on a mission to get my mom a childhood treat for her birthday and it didn't happen. Store was clean, service was slow. This location opens at noon; most others open at 11 in the county. I arrived about half an hour after opening and it was semi busy. Two tables were occupied, one group waiting to pick up, plus two people ahead of me. It was clean inside. The line wasn't long at all but the wait was over 10 minutes because the cashier got a customer's order wrong twice while ringing him up. By the time I got to the front the line behind me was 4 groups. The group waiting to pickup was waiting the whole time I was there. I ordered was told they were out of Orange Julius. (This was a weekend, second hot one since the rainy season.) Since it's in the store's name and visibly on the menu I just expected it to be available. Didn't see anything posted in store, on the menu, or online. Cashier apologized and did not offer any alternative menu items or ask if I wanted something else. I actually called another couple of DQs that were sad to say they didn't have it on their menus but did helpfully point me to the nearest location that did. (Unfortunately the nearest location was this one. So my birthday quest went unfulfilled.) Three stars because the location was clean and staff was polite, but slow and not particularly helpful.
