Stopped in after I went to Rite Aid. It's only a few doors down from there. I have not had an orange Julius in so long! It was the perfect fix I needed. I ordered a large for $6 and it's worth it. It tasted like real orange juice and not watered down. I've had it at the fair many times and they always make it watery. Staff was friendly and I made my order right away.

Peanut Buster Parfait

Always a yummy experience. I usually get the Buster Bar but the last few times it has been melted and refrozen so this time I decided to get a Peanut Buster Parfait and it did not disappoint.

Save yourself from ever ordering uber eats from here. Their carelessness in packing orders resulted in my ice cream being delivered as SOUP, not sealed shut or even in a bag. What the fuck. See photo for how they feel comfortable sending peoples orders with drivers. Unbelievable.

One of the few DQ locations in SD! Service was very fast on a weekday afternoon. My mint brownie chip blizzard tasted especially good for 85 cents during their special. Get the app & see what deals are currently going on. The blizzard tasted like vanilla soft serve with mint flavoring with brownie & chocolate mix ins. Not too heavy or creamy like regular ice cream. Still love how they flip the cup upside down before giving it to you! Just like the old days! They sell a variety of dairy & dairy free desserts for take out. There is also a low sugar option. Additionally they sell blizzard cakes! Gotta try that one day! Looks amazing. Plenty of seating inside, even for larger groups of 6-7. Kid friendly. Don't ever change DQ!

Yes, that's a devil and there's reason the original company was sued - some sports team said it looked like its logo

Here's for the lies they tell everyone about the Orange Julius. When IHOP purchased Orange Julius a long time ago, Warren Buffett purchased it from them and then it was sold to Dairy Queen. I was just speaking with one of their reps on a corporate matter, nothing to do with them, when I brought it up. I told him about this place. He said they should be selling Orange Julius drinks. It looks like they are a franchise, but all the franchise Orange Julius' were purchased and folded into the Dairy Queen Corp. I gave him more info about this one. All the other Dairy Queen's have them. He said this is rare as hen's teeth. So I hope to hear back from him to hear what he has to say. The other stores do - give them - call!! They do have those ice cream popsicles that taste like orange Julius. They kept telling me it was a Covid thing that the company stopped making the mix. It's bad enough you have to wait 30 minutes or an hour for a baseball team to get served - then you are told some kind of lie. Call any one of them (I've called 10) they all have them and have no idea what I'm talking about when I mention the Carmel mt store and the shortage. One of the store managers laughed so hard that they asked if the kid behind the counter had been drinking. When I told them it was the owners....he said that was real odd, and not good at all and he'd call me back.

3/20 Free Cone Day
Shirley Wing L.

:( I know this isn't really the staff or locations fault but there was some huge disappointment today 3/20. It was Free Cone Day, I received several emails marketing this from DQ and put it on my calendar several days ago, heavily anticipating this. I even read the finer terms over and over again to check what the event duration was. It indicated all day event at non mall locations. I even helped spread the word to my friends. My friends showed up to a different non mall location and yet were met with a sign that said they weren't participating. They ended up buying a Blizzard since they already went there. I felt so guilty. We separately went to this location and got hit with a sign that they ran out of cones when we showed up around 6:45pm. As much as I understand it was our issue for showing up later in the day. I also felt like maybe they should've specified how many cones they were going to give away that day instead of leaving it open ended that this was an all day event. NBC did a better job of clear advertising when they did a Free Bundtlet event, what time and how many, just so all of us have realistic expectations. What's also unsurprising is that there was still a long line of people which tells me like that most like me were met with disappointment but since they already spent the gas and time to get out there they were kinda coerced into spending their money to get something. We decided that due to the principle of things, to take our business elsewhere, we walked over to Thrifty and got a single scoop (which is really a double scoop) for $2.49! While the small cone at DQ is~$3.5+ now!

Fruity blast cone
Michele M.

Fruity Blast dipped cone. I'm addicted. Tastes like Fruity Pebbles cereal. The people here are friendly but they close kind of early so get there before 7:30. The line can also be out the door. That is when I don't get my Fruity Blast cone.

This is from the Carmel Mountain location---why does my receipt say MINNESOTA?!?!?!
Dani P.

DISGUSTING! There were just a bunch of kids working, who didn't wash their hands, didn't have their hair tied back and couldn't find the expiration date on the DILLY BARS...probably b/c they were so old the date froze off (didn't know until I got home and opened the box and they all had frost bite)! We ordered a couple Orange Julius drinks that had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR and blizzard that the ice cream tasted so frozen, it had no flavor! I have heard their are new owners, but my SERIOUS question is, why does my receipt say MINNESOTA? Is that were the new owners are located??? NEVER GOING BACK! DIRTY, TASTELESS AND JUST OVER ALL GROSS!!!!!!!!!

Still my go to place when I'm craving something sweet and special. Their cakes may be pricey, but…read morein my opinion, for the amount of work, effort, and quality of ingredients, I think they continue to be fair. For example, some other specialty bakeries/shops are charging similar prices for cakes and cheesecakes that are much simpler. In comparison, Extraordinary Dessert cakes take 3-4 days to make, have 6-8 alternating layers, and are typically adorned with edible gold and/or flowers. The key is to find which items you like and which are okay to pass on next time. What we ried this time: -Match Misu Cake (7/10): ricotta cake layers soaked in matcha and layered with marscapone whipped cream. This one was pretty good and ranks in my middle to high range. I only wish there was more matcha flavor (maybe if you dine in and get the sauce, this would help) or the matcha was paired with another flavor ... either go fruity (maybe a raspberry sauce, strawberry pieces, white peach pieces, or like a peach oolong cream layer) or go chocolately/coffee (maybe had some crushed up chocolate covered espresso beans). My go to's: -Ivoire Royale (10/10) - my ultimate favorite still. If you like light desserts, white chocolate, berries, and moist vanilla cake, thus one is for you. Classy and unpretentious -Shangrila (10/10) - my other favorite and will make you feel like a princess with all the pink chocolate curls. A little bit adventurous and innocently elegant. Ones to skip: -Au Chocolate / La Bete Noire / Dame Chocolate - get the Viking instead. That's my favorite of all their chocolate cakes -Lemon ricotta - get the Passionfruit Ricotta instead -Torta misu - the matcha misu is better. The tortilla misuse made me want a regular piece of tirmaisu than a cake version -Coconut cream - not bad, not amazing though

Also just so everyone is aware they're also liars just to mention & stupid.. she tells us her name is Karen thinking we don't know the owners name lol .. She was at the register at 7:20pm and was extremely rude and dismissive after we placed our order, especially regarding a child's dietary restrictions and health concerns. We politely asked if it would be possible to purchase a small cup of fruit , even just a couple strawberries cut up, because one child in our group cannot have sweets due to very strict dietary restrictions . Instead of simply saying they were unable to accommodate the request or offering another option, we were told to "go somewhere else," despite already spending the amount we did . The complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service was honestly shocking. It's disappointing to be treated that way at a place we have supported so consistently. This place has been going downhill , management for this place needs to step up .

One would think that, in such dark times, one could still find even a glimpse of hope in an ice cream cone. I was proven wrong, and my outlook on the current state of affairs only dimmed further. I ate my ice cream in two bites. Twenty dollars for two cones, four bites total. I didn't even bother feeding my son the pup cup. He deserves better. The world deserves better. Bigger portions. Bigger smiles. Makes perfect sense, in my humble opinion. I suppose your employees do not agree.

That interaction really put a damper on things, but we eventually ordered a few scoops and a few cookies. Thought the cookies were spot on again (warm from the oven). The ice cream temperature wasn't quite right - a bit on the melted/soft side. Not quite what we were hoping for this time around.

I thought it was tasty as well as their coffee, however my coffee wasn't filled up all the way. It is strong and their roast is bold! I liked it a lot, although a lunch meal can get costly so it would just be from time to time if I were to revisit. Not only that, but they also have a small selection of gelatos which look pretty authentic like Spumoni! Other desserts I saw were mousse, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, carrot cake, and rugelach. The cafe is small and the service may take a bit if you are waiting for the food, but overall, I enjoyed my coffee and sandwich.
