Gaslamp is my Wife's favorite hangout spot, and one of her quick stops to bring us for dessert is here in Chocolate SD. We've been here a lot, but we've never had a chance to review this place until now. This Chocolate SD closes late like MIDNIGHT, I think on weekends at 1 . am, so this is also a plus why we like stopping here when we are in Gaslamp. I had their Banana & Nuttela Crepe, while my Wife and Son shared with Strawberry & Chocolate both were well made with lots of chocolate and fruits in it, really a good one, i also had their ice cream but that was gone so quick before i remembered taking a picture of it, they have lots of selections of their ice creme here and they are pretty good. They serve a lot of mostly what u craving for here for light food or heavy to eat like their sandwiches , oh their coffee here and cold drinks are good to have here too. Staff here is always nice, good spot to swing by and hang around, and eat. But it's Gaslamp so you might probably know already it's always hard to find parking.

Ordered two Americano coffees , they were very good . We also had the ham, egg, and cheese crepe, a croissant and some fresh fruit. The food was very good. Only one person was working she wasn't the friendliest but not rude either, maybe just over worked. We sat outside and were approached by homeless a few times for money. Would still return cause the food was so good!

Creme brulee was 10/10 there pastry and creme crepes was a 5/10 not the best I've had. Register person was nice. Place was busy came around 7pm

We only tried the truffles here. They were just ok. Nothing out of the world. It is $2.5 per truffle, which I thought was a little expensive for what we had.

It's not a secret that I love crepes. I ordered two savory crepes from this shop, a chicken and zucchini crepe and a sausage crepe. I would have to say, it was kind of average. However the shop offers an extensive menu of sweet and savory goods. Parking is street an public structure. Service was average. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual Please come and create your own experience.

Cute dessert and coffee spot with a lovely ambience and vibe. Perfect for a casual outing right in the heart of downtown.

We came in on a Monday around 11, the service was very nice and was very patient, they have a lot on their menu and we took a few mins. The service was very quick as well and everything was well worth it and delicious

Had a delicious Affogato here as an afternoon pick-me-up. The lady working the counter was friend. Place has lots of seatings. You can also order food and pastries besides coffee and ice creams.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. I ordered the Oreo cheesecake, and it didn't taste like cheesecake at all -- it lacked that rich, creamy cheese flavor you expect. The coffee was weak and totally forgettable. The service was actually very good -- friendly and attentive -- but that's the only highlight. For $32, we got two coffees, one slice of red velvet, and the Oreo cheesecake. Honestly, it felt overpriced for what we received. I won't be coming back. There are better dessert spots in San Diego with stronger coffee and better value.

Amazing gelato!! It really hit the spot after a long night. The girls working the counter were super sweet and fast. It felt worlds away from the craziness of Gaslamp.

Came in here early not knowing what they had but I knew they served coffee. I was staying at one the hotels in Gaslamp and woke up hungry and walked till I found somewhere that served food and hot coffee. I never had an eggs cheese and ham Crepe before so I ordered it and a coffee. They were fast and when I got my food, I was pleased! The coffee was piping hot and the breakfast crepe was delicious. Good alternative to a breakfast burrito lol The crepe was flavorful and held me Up for my next meal. Staff were quick and the eating area was clean. I will definitely be coming back to try one the sweet crepes they serve here. There are so many different kinds to choose from and they have a big selection of gelatos and flavored coffees.

The place is under renovation and it looks like it wil be amazing. The staff was nice and we dipped in for a quick crepe. Wow. It was good. When you are in the Gaslamp this is a place to go. The gelato also looked great. Have to try that next time.

Husband had to try this place for his after dinner sweet treat. I was really impressed by this cute sweet treat shop. Once inside I saw the menu on the wall offering both savory meals and sweet treats. From flatbread pizzas, savory or sweet crepes, to ice cream and delectable deserts! Husband and I shared some ice-cream and it was very good. Heck, you can even have a beer or a glass of wine in this cute shop. Don't let the name "Chocolate" fool you. There's alot more going on here besides chocolates. Definitely give it a try for either a savory meal, or sweet treat when you're in the area.

My friends and I were just looking to get a coffee in Little Italy, but when we walked in and saw all the delicious treats we had to try something else as well. I ordered a latte and neglected to tell them it was for here so I was given a paper cup, but they give real cups if you ask. The latte was good, and my friend bought a kitchen sink type cookie with chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nuts. It was warm and gooey good! Another friend tried the gelato and said it was very good. There are a few tables inside and tables out in front outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful San Diego weather. The decor and tables definitely gives you an old school Italian neighborhood vibe with Italian markets right next door. If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitely come back here to try the gelato and/or a piece of an excellent looking lemon pie bar I spotted.

We waited nearly an hour and a half, close to two hours, in line near closing time. It was freezing outside, and there were definitely moments when we questioned whether it was worth it. Looking back, I can honestly say it was. One thing that immediately stood out was the service. The staff continuously came through the line offering samples, explaining the different flavors, sharing how some of them were created, and helping people decide what they might enjoy before reaching the counter. It made the long wait feel much more manageable and showed how much they genuinely care about the customer experience. When it was finally our turn, I was completely overwhelmed in the best way possible. Every flavor I sampled seemed better than the last. Even the flavors I was convinced I would not like ended up surprising me and becoming some of my favorites. The creativity, quality, and balance of flavors were honestly impressive. Everything tasted unique, thoughtful, and incredibly well executed. My friends and I spent so much time trying to decide which flavors to choose because there were simply too many good options. That is not a problem I usually have at an ice cream shop. The only thing I regret is not ordering a bigger size. The moment I finished my ice cream, I wished I had gotten a larger cup or cone because it was that good. This place is truly a gem. I would love to see them expand beyond San Diego because I have no doubt they would be just as successful in Los Angeles and Orange County. While I hope the line is a little shorter next time, I would absolutely come back and wait for this ice cream again. It was one of the most memorable desserts I have had in a long time.

Cuisine: 5/5. Full disclosure, I'm not a big pizza aficionado. In my experience, pizza usually either tastes over-processed or it lacks flavor--especially in the U.S. This was certainly my experience in Chicago. Large, dull slabs of dough, lacking in one iota of flavor, to the point where me and my European colleague kept pouring pepper on the pizza in the futile attempt to summon flavor out of the pizza. Up until my special experience at Gelati & Peccati, (sorry, I can't recall which slice I ordered), the only memorable pizza experience that forced me to reconsider my anti-pizza opinion was in Perpignan, France. And to be fair, this isn't an apples to apples comparison, as nearly every item of food in Europe tastes better than the over-processed poison served in the uniquely American hell-scape of chain restaurants and fast food joints. Note: there are many caveats to this claim, which include but aren't limited to Mexican food, Brazilian food, Thai food, Texas Brisket, Soul Food, and anything that isn't saltine cracker-bland AF. That said, the slice of heaven served at Gelati & Peccati is nothing but flames, and it stands in stark contrast to the banal slabs of dough purporting to be pizza in Chicago. Look, it's simple: I could actually taste each ingredient. Yes, the cheese tasted like actual cheese, and the veggies and sauce actually tasked like--food. This was just the paradigm shift that I needed when it comes to eating pizza in the U.S. I will definitely return the next time I pass through SD. Ambiance: 5/5. The woman working the ovens that night delivered authentic/energetic Euro vibes as she danced to EDM while preparing our pizzas. Definitely felt like we weren't in the states, which was refreshing. Much thanks! Buen provecho.
