I've had Mochinut before, and these disappointing. These were REALLY chewy. Almost gummy, and the flavors were mediocre; looked cute though! For seating they only have 1 small spot inside (not wheelchair accessible seating), and one small table outside (accessible). No restrooms here at all.

Heard about this place before and wanted to try out since they have many locations, in other cities and states. Gotta be decent right? My take=I believe worth a trip or two back at the very least. But I will tell you right now, not going for those dogs on sticks.. Arriving late in the evening around 7, I did have the idea that there would be limited selection of drinks and/or donuts. And I was correct, had to choose what was left on the mochinut shelf and the gal mentioned they happened to be out of boba. This is not necessarily a bad thing for me, but I was with the mindset of getting the lady a drink here and then this. I personally don't like the boba much, as the consistency and quality varies greatly form one time to another. I am a fan of the teas now and then, and I went with the Thai tea, and the other drink was the house special brown sugar tea. One thing that was disappointing was they could not be customized at all, not even 1/2 sugar which is how I order them. So they are good but way too sweet for me. The gal here was working tirelessly by herself it appeared, and was an absolute doll with her presence, positive attitude and quick attention. That was impressive in itself. So I tried the donuts, well mochinuts. Out of the 3 mochinuts, the matcha was the clear winner by a long shot. It had the exact flavors of that wonderful matcha taste that I love. Complexity as it should have, yet sweet since it is all in the glaze. Even the amazing texture seemed different than the other two, which I didn't understand. An incredibly delicious treat. There's gotta be a trace of benefits to this donut, I mean it's green tea based, right? Keep that thought. Either way, I think I'll get all 3 of the same ones next time!

I came to this location for the first time on a Saturday. It was easy to find a parking spot and they were not busy. The employees were very friendly and service was quick. They had 6 flavors (nutella, white chocolate, taro, original, churro, and funnel cake). We ordered 2 of each flavor to take togo. The donuts tasted fresh and chewy. They were all good but I liked the chocolate flavors best. They have very limited seating inside and outside. I love their cute decor.

I have been to this location many times and they never disappoint! No place to sit indoors but great to go! Their Korean dogs are always cooked to perfection. They do sauce on the side (some places are weird about this) I like the half/half. Little bit of meat and little cheese! Can't go wrong with the mix! They change the flavors of the mochinut daily. Some of my favorites are coffee, mint Oreo and churro.

Sauce at the bottom of the container

This place is small but cute! It's clean and Staff are always nice. We've been a here a few times. The food is good and is always consistent. We've had the mozzarella, the potato mozzarella, the half and half, the hot Cheetos half and half and have tried all of there drinks with the exception of the chai tea. Ube is the favorite. Only thing I wish they had was little containers to put the different sauces in. They put them either on top of the food or on the bottom of the container, which saturates the food and makes it a bit soggy by the time we got home. Other than that we look forward to visiting again.

Blueberry mochi donut

Solid place in the area for unique dessert/food offerings and in the same lot as Target. I only came for a mochi donut and appreciated that I could buy just one ($3) vs other locations where the purchase of a single donut was only a Monday offering. They had 6 flavors on rotation and we opted for the blueberry. It had a good chewy texture and just enough blueberry flavor! It wasn't overly sweet which was great. It's also pretty cool they sell corn dogs and boha here too, which I'll have to try next time!

Original sad dog. Half the size of the box and probably a quarter of a dog inside, if that.

This must be the laziest store/restaurant I've ever ordered from. If I didn't like their food so much, I wouldn't keep trying. Every month or so I place a repeat order on DoorDash and every time same bs. Aside from my Dasher, making a pitstop at his house to see his wife( admitted when confronted in chat) my food as always came all messed up. First of all, what happened to the size of these dogs? And can we actually cook them? They always come undercooked and the batter is leaking out. The half-and-half was more like 80/20, where is the dog? I mean honestly what is happening I feel like I'm just eating deep fried batter at this point. Secondly, The menu says every dog comes with two sauces, I ordered three and got two sauces total. And lastly.. picked utensils and condiments to be included but who doesn't love no straws with a Boba drink... like come on. Btw everytime I order the same exact thing and 9/10 same problems. Undercooked miniature dogs, no sauces, no straws. It's ridiculous.

A piece of plastic in their boba

I wanted to leave good reviews...especially considering so many of their locations have shut down. The donut tasted good until I was trying to take it apart for my gf to try, the donut was oozing out oil, I can't believe it was that greasy. I ordered the coffee boba, it was so sweet I had to keep watering it down. Then I found a piece of plastics in the bobas.. pretty disappointing...

This location is not as good as their convoy location. Upon entry, we were not greeted and it immediately felt weird. I decided to say hi first and still no one responded. Just got weird looks from the staff which made me and my mom feel awkward and uncomfortable. I ordered a thai tea with boba. I also got a 3 pack with the matcha, churro and banana-milk flavors. The thai tea was extremely sweet and almost undrinkable. I got sick after drinking it and decided to throw it out. The mochinuts were good. The churro flavor is the best. The matcha and banana were okay. I feel like this spot just needs better trained staff and a new drink recipe and they would be much better off. However, i dont think ill be returning to this location.

I love that Poway is becoming like a little hub of Clairemont 2.0. I came here on a Saturday and Monday. You have to check their social media for flavors of the week. There are 6 flavors with churro, original, and funnel cake on repeat while the other 3 flavors are on rotate. This location is extremely tiny. They opened at noon on Saturday and there was already a line. There wasn't a sign but we all did 3 people at a time inside while the rest stood outside. Once you receive your ticket, wait outside until your number is called on the loud speaker. My favorite are below in *. *Original- my favorite, taste like Krispy Kreme original glazed *Churro- taste like churros -Funnel cake - choice of strawberry, chocolate, or another flavor as drizzle *Raspberry - the best in terms of resemblance to the fruit -Milk chocolate - taste chocolate donuts -Taro - fan favorite -Butter pecan - sweet like ice cream -Milky - got confused with coffee -Coffee - got confused with milky I also tried the ube drink and it was so good! $5 for one large size cup. It was rich, creamy and fragrant. Also got original and potato hot dog. Many options to choose from with meat or cheese inside. Outside is with yeasted batter and coated with panko. The potato was coated with diced potatoes and deep fried. All very tasted. My only complaint would be the sauce and take out containers. You had a choice of four sauces. To be drizzled on the hot dog or on the side. I opted for side, thinking it'll be in a little cup with a lid. Nope, it was drizzled at the bottom of the take out container. That was not helpful because the container is not even and had grooves which made it difficult to dip. Second, it was just wasteful when one container can hold two hot dogs but because I requested two different sauce, they used two containers. Not eco-friendly. They could have put two hot dog in one and gave the sauce on the side in a dipping cup with a lid. Now, wouldn't that be smart? Parking at this Target plaza is way better than the Convoy location. The inside is tiny unlike the Convoy location where you can sit inside to enjoy your goodies. It's great to bring to parties as most people have never tried these. I would cut up each mochi ball and have a stash of food picks for people to grab on their own as samples.

Ordered 1 of each! Nutella, funnel cake, churro, butter, original glazed & matcha

YAY! Finally something new & fun to come to Poway!!! Mira Mesa always gets the cool stuff, SMH. SO SO EXCITED there's a Mochinut close to me now. Only bummer is Mochinut is still not open in the mornings which sucks because I prefer donuts in the morning. Visited opening weekend & it gets 5/5 stars from me! MOCHI DONUTS If you have no idea what I'm referring to- Mochi donuts are typically made with tapioca/glutinous rice flour. The dough is just as soft & buttery but it has more of a light, bouncy texture & a slight chewyness on the inside. If you like the texture of mochi, you'll probably love this!! They are shaped a little differently with pull-apart style balls which make them look really cute. Their flavors change weekly I believe & you can follow them on IG to see their current flavors. I tried all 6 of their current flavors & my top go-to fave is still original glazed! They were all good but I'm just kind of basic. I'm a huge fan of mochi donuts & have tried them at a few different places in OC & LA. You'll just have to try it for yourself!! This is what Mochinut is KNOWN FOR. You gotta get at least one if you visit. Priced at around $3 each or a box of 6 for $16.50. CORN DOGS (Unique to this location) They have a variety of corn dog flavors, priced from $3+. We tried the original & it was light & crispy. I enjoyed it. For the Hot Cheetos/Cheese/Potato lovers, there are specific flavors made for you! I wanna try the Hot Cheeto one next time! Be aware you'll have to wait 10-15 min for them to make this. BOBA TEAS The boba teas taste just ok. Keep in mind this is not a boba shop- it's a donut shop that also serves boba. They are premade so you cannot customize the sweetness & they were not actually serving them with boba pearls yet when I visited. I would skip this unless you're really craving boba. I found the drinks to be way too sweet for my taste. However, I could see 10-year-old me LOVING the sweetness lol. I got the matcha one & it was ok, but not great. LOCATION & PARKING Mochinut is located next to Target & Coldstone. Parking lot is big but you might have to park a bit further depending on how busy Target is. CUSTOMER SERVICE The employees seem really new & are still in training mode so I would be patient with this for awhile. Everyone is really friendly & polite! WAIT TIMES (Grand Opening Weekend experience) Since they literally just opened 2 days ago, the lines have been long. However, I came at around 11:30am for their 12noon opening. I was 4th in line. Got in right away. Not bad at all. However by the time they opened, the line was almost to Target. COUPONS Definitely follow them on IG: Mochinut_Poway for the current Mochinut flavors & coupons/promos.

Not all Mochinuts are the same and this was definitely not up to par. The mochinut was really oily and didn't not really taste good.

Are mochinuts good the next day for breakfast? The store isn't open for breakfast. 🙄

Yes, they are but no more than one day. They will get hard after that:(. How that helps!

On the way back to our hotel, the Marriott Courtyard, Rancho Bernardo. We had just had dinner with 25 of the many other out of town guests, at The Cork and the Craft. Though we had just finished dinner, and had a 5 minute drive back to the hotel, our passenger, (my brother-in-law) expressed that he was still hungry and would like to stop for ice cream somewhere on our way back to the hotel. Not knowing anything about the area, with a very small window of opportunity, I checked Yelp, on my phone, for a good, appropriate place to stop. KOKONUT-Golden Spoon popped up, as being right along our short route back, and with 4.5 stars, a definite YES! We learned that they have an option of frozen desserts made with coconut water, instead of milk. We did not try it. All 4 of us had frozen yoghurt. We were all happy with our selections.

Ive brought friends here in the past and have always gotten positive feedback afterwards. Recently though, it feels like it's lost a little of its charm. The menu needs updating because with all the crossed out items on the board, it looks a little low end and like they're out of things. But they also always seem to be out of multiple items when I come these days. There's no food options any more most of the time, but the display cases remain. And seating... it feels like they got rid of 1-2 tables and the tables that were outside. There never seems to be enough seating so it's both cramped while also empty looking now. They have these side benches to sit on, but no one ever uses them because they're not super comfortable or good to chat with anyone with. Also, the bathroom. It's usually open, but twice now Ive been in there where there's zero toilet paper or the paper towel dispenser is out, but someone has just put a roll on top to tear at your own will. I loved this place so I hate saying more negative than good. The drinks remain amazing, but for a spot that is so popular, it's losing some of its own charm.
