Good vibe for a Friday night and the way it is decorated is done pretty well. Once we were seated we ordered and were served quickly. We got the shrimp appetizer to start. I got the Philly cheesesteak with sweet potato waffle fries and my brother for the morning after burger with French fries. We both enjoyed our choices. They give good sized servings of fries and the burger and cheesesteak were a decent size. I would definitely go back!

When we opened the door, I immediately knew I'd love the fries. You could smell the delicious fry smell right away, and I wasn't wrong. Some of the best french fries I've ever had. The burger was great too! My wife got onion rings as a side, and I was like, "Are you nuts?! These fries are going to be so good!" The rings were fantastic though. Solid snap on the onion, which didn't slide out of the breading when I bit down. The service was friendly and quick, and the restaurant itself was clean as a whistle in the very cool Waterloo Arts District, just down the street from Beachland Ballroom. While walking to the car, we agreed that Doinks needed to be a regular date night stop. Killer burger spot.

Kids pizza was great and they loved the fries however the kids chicken tenders and Mac and cheese are adult like so the kids did not care for that. I was excited for the beet salad but did not care for it. Feta was an odd swap, dressing was off, and beets didn't have much flavor but lettuce was fresh so maybe a different salad some time. The salmon dinner was just ok. Looked good but my husband said every third bite was randomly salty. Like the seasoning was distributed randomly making parts of the rice, veggies, or meat in edible.
