They come off as a family friendly business and how nice they seem occasionally at the window, but the reality is that they are terrible people. They called the police on their employees for a problem that started with one of the owner's football team. The owner's yelled/scared the employees for trying to solve a problem and they were no help. Afterwards, approximately 50% of their staff quit. They do not take responsibility for any problems they cause, and overall treat their employees like crap. They take the employees' tips and yell at them to the extreme for no reason. This place appears as a good, small town attraction, but in reality is run by monsters and no one should support them or their business. The truth may not be known by many, but this came straight from the mouth of a previous employee. It is accurate and everyone should know what is really going on behind the scenes. Also, since COVID has become an issue, while they may have made attempts to make their business COVID friendly, they themselves as the owners do not follow the rules. I have personally witnessed them coming into stores on various occasions without masks or cares for the well-being of others. They are selfish and cruel and more people need to know the truth. read more

I have been walking driving and biking down the hill to KK for many years now and only once have I not been satisfied and that's because they were closed. Unlike DQ, you don't have to ask them to make a blizzard without chocolate syrup, and you get real portions for your money! I love what they've done in recent years with the whole classic look thing. King Kone is a staple in the city of Chardon just as much so as the Maple Festival. read more

Delicious Hershey's ice cream and giant sundaes, great low prices and helpful, entertaining staff-- this small-town ice cream shop packs BIG flavor. I wasn't sure I would like the ice cream...I have my store-bought favorites. But I love the Hershey's, especially the cappuccino crunch. The soft serve is delicious as well. I especially enjoy the facelift which the new owners have given this Chardon classic. The pink and green facade and the pink lights offer a fun, inviting atmosphere for all those driving by wanting a bit of refreshment! read more

I moved out of chardon a few years back, but now i go to king kone more often than when i lived there. Every time i visit, im there. It changed ownership a year ago, and the service has been great ever since. I love the decor, too! It has that small town, family-run feel that you dont get at dairy queen.
